Trenton’s smirk froze.

A grip like an iron clamp tightened around his ankle. The bone in his leg creaked under the pressure.

"What are you—" Trenton started.

Caleb didn't speak. He simply stood up.

As he rose, he jerked his arm upward with terrifying force. Trenton lost his balance instantly, his expensive shoes flying out from under him.

Crash!

Trenton flew backward through the air and slammed headfirst into the nearest banquet table. Fine china shattered into a thousand pieces. Wine glasses exploded. Red wine and roast duck gravy splattered across Trenton’s tailored white suit.

The entire ballroom went dead silent.

Guests froze with their glasses halfway to their mouths. Julian’s jaw dropped so wide it looked unhinged. Vivian stared, her eyes wide with total shock.

For three years, Caleb had never raised his voice, let alone a hand. He had let street dogs bark at him without blinking.

Now, Trenton Hayes—the most arrogant heir in Riverdale—was lying in a puddle of soup, groaning in pain.

"You... you bastard!" Trenton sputtered, spitting out a piece of broken porcelain. He scrambled to his feet, trembling with rage. "You dare touch me? Guards! Break his legs! Throw him off the balcony!"

Four burly bodyguards in dark suits stepped forward immediately. Their knuckles popped as they advanced on Caleb like a pack of wolves.

"Caleb, run!" Vivian screamed, instinctively moving to block him.

Caleb gently placed a hand on Vivian’s shoulder and pulled her behind him. His touch was warm and steady.

"Stay back," Caleb said calmly. His voice was quiet, but it carried an authority Vivian had never heard before.

The lead guard lunged, throwing a heavy fist straight at Caleb’s face.

Caleb didn't even shift his footing. He leaned his head slightly to the left, letting the punch graze empty air. In the same motion, Caleb drove his palm directly into the guard’s solar plexus.

Thud.

The guard’s breath exploded from his lungs in a wet gasp. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he collapsed onto the floor like a sack of wet cement.

The other three guards froze in terror. One strike. He took down a professional bodyguard with one casual strike.

Before anyone could make sense of what just happened, a sharp digital ringtone echoed through the silent room.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

It was coming from Caleb’s jacket. He pulled out an old, beat-up phone with a cracked screen and answered it right in front of everyone.

"Speak," Caleb said into the receiver.

A trembling, elderly voice answered on speakerphone, loud enough for the front tables to hear:

"Master Caleb! The three-year Austerity Oath has concluded at midnight! Your global accounts, private satellite lines, and the Apex Sovereign fleet have been fully restored to your name. Butler Adler awaits your orders!"

Julian blinked, then burst into loud, mocking laughter.

"An actor!" Julian shouted, clapping his hands. "He hired an actor to make a phone call! Do you think you're in a movie, Caleb? You push Young Master Hayes, hit a guard, and now you pretend to be a king?"

Trenton wiped wine from his face, his eyes full of murderous hate. "Staging a fake call won't save your life, you tramp. You owe forty million dollars to my bank, and you just assaulted me in public!"

Right then, the double doors opened again.

A middle-aged man in a sharp tuxedo hurried into the hall, flanked by hotel security. It was Vincent Larson, the General Manager of the Grand Regal Hotel.

"What is the meaning of this noise?" Larson demanded sternly. "Who is causing trouble at our venue?"

Julian immediately ran over, pointing an angry finger at Caleb.

"Manager Larson! You came just in time!" Julian yelled. "This homeless beggar broke into the banquet, smashed your dishes, and assaulted Young Master Hayes! On top of that, the Sterling family hasn't paid the banquet bill yet. He claims he has money—make him pay the bill or call the police!"

Trenton sneered, folding his arms. "The banquet bill tonight is two hundred thousand dollars, including the reserve vintage wines. Make this trash pay it, Larson. If he can't, I want him in prison tonight."

Manager Larson frowned and pulled out a leather payment folder. "Tonight’s private hall and catering total is indeed two hundred and twenty thousand dollars. Who is settling the tab?"

Vivian stepped forward, her face pale. "Manager Larson, our company can pay tomorrow morning—"

"No tomorrow," Trenton snapped. "Pay now, or he goes to jail for fraud."

Caleb didn't look at Trenton. He didn't look at Julian.

He simply reached into his worn denim jacket and pulled out a sleek, matte-black metal card.

The card had no numbers. It had no bank logo. It only had a single, golden dragon coiled around an infinity symbol etched deeply into the titanium surface.

Caleb tossed the card onto the table in front of Manager Larson.

"Swipe it," Caleb said flatly.

Julian snorted. "A piece of plastic with a toy dragon on it? Are you insane?"

Manager Larson looked down at the card.

The moment his eyes landed on the gold dragon emblem, his face lost every trace of color. His breath caught in his throat. His hands began to shake violently.

Every high-end hotel manager in the world was trained on one secret: there were only five of these cards in existence. The owner of this card didn't just have money—they had unlimited sovereign credit backed by the Apex Consortium.

"M-Manager Larson?" Trenton asked, noticing the man's frozen state. "What are you waiting for? Call the police and—"

Clatter.

Manager Larson dropped his leather ledger onto the floor.

Then, right in front of the entire Sterling family, the high-society guests, and Trenton Hayes, the powerful manager of the city's top luxury hotel fell straight to his knees.

He held the black card above his head with both trembling hands.

"P-Par... Pardon my blindness, My Lord!" Larson stammered, his voice shaking with pure dread.

Before anyone could react, the mobile payment machine in Larson’s pocket chimed loudly.

A mechanized voice echoed through the banquet hall:

"Apex Sovereign Card verified. Transaction of $220,000 approved. Available balance: Unlimited."

The room went cold.

Caleb looked down at the kneeling manager, then slowly turned his icy gaze to Trenton Hayes.

"Now," Caleb whispered, his voice cutting through the stillness like a blade. "Whose turn is it to bark?"
