Chapter 25

Riele's POV.

"The girl's mom is here." The cop informed.

I tensed, and I felt my legs trembling.

"Bring her in." The detective commands.

The door swung in, and I immediately bounded up from my seat and stood still upon seeing my mother's face. She was standing still in disbelief as she looked at miserable me from head to toe.

She walked inside the room, her eyes still fixated on me. If only there was a deep hole, I would fall and bury myself in it.

Alas, she looked away from me and faced the detective. "Mr. Carter, I'll like to post bail." She told him.

He sighed. "There is a lot of evidence we have against your daughter, Mrs. Evans, and besides, the mother of the deceased doesn't agree to it, and she'll soon arrive too."

My mom clenched her jaw. "My daughter isn't a murderer."

"But that isn't what the pieces of evidence prove, and without a lawyer, your daughter isn't getting out of police custody." He said.

My mom's face fell and looked at me with a sad expression.
