There years later, baby Forgus was in his room with the sorceress assigned to keep an eye on him. The bead was safely placed on the cloth used to cover him on the bed. It was bed time but he is finding it difficult to sleep.

He turned to the sorceress and said, “Tell me a story.” Then he sat upright to listen.

“Okay, listen very carefully I will ask you a question after the story.” He sits well and this time with rap attention. “Once upon a time, in a land terrorized by an evil sorcerer. He made sure no one sleeps comfortably in the land for fear of him. He might strike at anytime and he has edge over everyone due to his strong knowledge of sorcery. None was able to stand him; he even scares children away. But one day, a boy named Forgus” he smiled on hearing his name, “met him, pretended to be on his side; he killed him from behind and that was the end of the evil sorcerer. Now, my question; who saved the day?”

“Forgus.”

“That’s right. Give me a high five.”

He was happy to hear the story.

“You can now go to bed,” she covered him, “goodnight.” He smiled and closed his eyes while she decided to leave.

Evelyn was at the entrance to Forgus’ room but discovered that the door was locked from inside then she used her wand to make two sharp slashes downwards; to the right then to the left and said “Reducto.”

The door shattered immediately, she gained access into the room; baby Forgus woke up as a result of the noise and began to cry. The sorceress ran towards him and quickly said, “Protego,” while making a short upwards move with her wand.

Evelyn, not wasting time stretched her wand to where he was, made a sharp slash directly downwards and said, “Stupefy.” She discovered it didn’t affect him, scanned everywhere to see what could be the reason then she saw the bead on his cloth and said, “Cleaver Carrita, she knew I will come,” she moved to remove the bead from the baby.

Forgus’ sorceress intercepted by moving her wand straightly to the left and said, “Impedimenta.”

She was able to freeze Evelyn for some seconds which didn’t last as expected; she tried to carry baby Forgus and escape but was suddenly struck by Evelyn. Then she kept the baby, turned to her, stretched her wand to cast a spell but unfortunately for her, Evelyn moved her wand straight to the right and said, “Expelliarmus.”

Immediately, the wand on her hand flew out and rendered her weaponless. Then Evelyn stretched her wand downwards and said, “Stupefy.”

Then, she fell and became unconscious. She went close to the baby and discovered the protection bead, she was about to remove it when Carrita entered.

She said “Impedlimenta” while performing a straight slash to the left with her wand.

Evelyn felt it and turned back to her and said “Carrita, you are here, don’t worry, that freezing stuff don’t last you know” she became fierce and tried to choke the baby with some incantations.

The baby began to cry uncontrollably. Carrita stretched her wand and shattered the cupboard where the baby’s stuffs were packed; Evelyn got distracted. She rushed to pin the bead back on Forgus which fell off as his minister tried to escape with him. She choked Carrita that she began to struggle for her life. Evelyn was smiling and shaking her head as she was battling on the floor which was fun to her.

Carrita defiled all odds to reach to her wand which fell off. On getting it, she moved it straight and said, “Expelliarmus.”

Evelyn’s wand flew out of her hand; as she tried to get it, Shammah entered with three other palace guards and apprehended her.

“How’s your body?” The King asked Carrita.

“I’m okay my King. However, the child should not stay here any longer for his safety.”

“Where then can he be safe? But I don’t think that should be a problem because Evelyn had been taken to an inner ward where she would be watched.”

“My King, we have no idea of what could happen next, she might have disciples. Don’t you think so?”

“That’s true. So, where do you think he can be that no one would be able to trace his whereabout?”

“Take him to Magnus Institute of Sorcery, he is safer there. Let no one know about this.”

“Where is this institute? Who runs it?”

“Magnus is the principal; he operates it with his wife. He will also teach him sorcery. For him to defeat the evil sorceress, he must have knowledge of it.”

“Okay, we will do that at twilight,” he paused for a while and inquisitively asked, “who is this Magnus, how comes I don’t know him?”

“He’s the one who helped us defeat Evelyn the first time she attacked alongside others. He also joins us in the yearly ritual but didn’t want to be known, for his safety I guess.”

“Yeah, no one wants many enemies.”

***

It was twilight already, Carrita and the royal family prepared themselves to leave for the institute. Shammah and one of the palace guard - who accompany him mostly for he was trusted – prepared the beast alongside the cart. The King, Queen, Carrita with the baby sat on the cart while the two guards rode the beast. They journeyed as far as to the outskirt of the kingdom where Magnus institute was located.

They got to a particular point where Magnus was standing, waiting for them. As they approached him, he bowed down and signaled them with his hand to follow him. He led them into a path by the left-hand side which looked like a thick forest. Baby Forgus had started crying already, Carrita covered him with his shawl and consoled him. Passing through the forest, one can see carvings of different creatures and of great men that had lived before. The birds were singing for joy, they can hear the croak of frogs and the noise of bush shaking as creeping creatures passed through them. They got to a point where they saw the big statue of Karmagha with his sword lifted on his right hand while holding his shield on his right hand. They wondered at it while Magnus climbed it through the stairs fitly joined to it from the sole of the foot close to the raised right hand.

“What could he be doing?” The royals reasoned among themselves.

Magnus got close to the right hand of the statue, entered into the space between the neck and the elbow; he vanished into thin air.

“What happened to him?” The King asked trembling.

Magnus brought out his head and said, “Aren’t you coming?”
