Thom stood tall, his face calm even though the entire hall was filled with wild stares and loud whispers.
“Unlimited or not, what matters is that I will pay for all the auction items I won. They all belong to me. So hurry and process the transaction,” Thom said.
Around the room, guests began whispering louder.
“No wonder… he is the son of the late Mr. Lanster’s second wife.”
“If that is true, it is not strange that he has an unlimited card.”
“Maybe he received part of the inheritance before Mr. Lanster died.”
“I thought he was a poor soldier… looks like he is not.”
The whispers spread like wind, changing the atmosphere from mockery to curiosity and respect.
But on the corner of the stage, someone’s body was growing hot, burning with anger and disbelief.
Madam Lena.
Her blood hissed like boiling water. Even her two sons, Frank and Benny, did not have an unlimited card.
She, the first wife of the Lanster family, did not have that card. How could the stepson she always insulted be the one holding the most powerful financial card in the world?
“That card is fake!” Madam Lena shouted.
“As Thom’s stepmother who has known him since he was a teenager, I know his illness! He has NPD! He loves to lie and exaggerate himself to look important!”
Some guests were shocked, while others quickly believed her because of the bad reputation the Lanster family had spread about Thom for years.
Madam Lena grew more excited, feeling like she finally had a stage.
“How could a low ranking soldier have an unlimited card?” she said while laughing harshly. “That card is fake! He only wants attention!”
Frank immediately supported his mother. He stepped forward quickly, grabbed the black card from the treasurer’s hand, and raised it high like an amateur researcher examining a cheap item.
“Look at this!” Frank shouted, shaking the card. “Cheap plastic! Fake card! Do you think we cannot tell the difference between real and fake cards? Thom, you are so funny!”
Some guests let out small laughs, more out of nervousness than certainty.
Thom only looked at Frank… as if the man was showing his own stupidity.
“Are you done checking it?” Thom asked calmly.
“Of course,” Frank said proudly. “It is fake. You have embarrassed your—”
“In that case,” Thom cut him off, “go ahead and try it. If the card is fake, the transaction will fail. But if it goes through, that means the card is real.”
The room instantly fell silent.
Guests held their breath, waiting for the result.
Frank’s face suddenly tightened. He did not expect Thom to challenge him back.
“How dare you talk to me like that?” Frank hissed low, full of anger.
He was not used to being cornered by Thom, someone he always saw as nothing more than dust under his shoes.
“If this really is fake,” Frank said while glaring at Thom, “you will kneel tonight in front of all the guests.”
Thom raised one eyebrow. “And if it is real?”
“If it is real, I will kneel in front of everyone here!” Frank said confidently.

Thom sat behind the wheel with a calm face, but his fingers tapped the steering wheel in an impatient rhythm. He did not panic. Panic would not save Shenina. He activated the traffic-clearing siren installed in his car—not a regular police siren, but a special military siren owned only by a handful of people. The cars ahead of him began to move aside, giving way.Throughout the journey, his phone never stopped ringing. Rachel stood in the park. Her body trembled. Her eyes were still wet with fake tears, but in her heart she was smiling. She had done her part. Now it was Thom’s turn to become the victim of his own foolishness. She thought that by telling Thom to chase west, he would run as fast as he could in that direction. Leaving her. Leaving Jasmine. Leaving everyone. And in that chaos, Rachel could calmly walk out of the park, take a taxi, and disappear. The three million dollars was already in her account. Frank would be free. A new life was waiting. But Thom did not move.Rachel blinked. Her mind stalled for a moment. Why wasn’t Thom running? Why was he just standing there? Why was his face calm, too calm for a father whose daughter had just been kidnapped?Thom reached into his pocket and took out his phone. He lifted it to his ear, dialing a number he knew by heart. "Red Dragon." Thom’s voice was flat, unhurried. "Block all roads. Check every toll gate, every city exit. Secure the entire a

Rachel’s phone vibrated. A message came in. She read the screen with her breath held."Three million dollars. Transfer after the child is received. Send the location."Rachel smiled. 30 minutes later...Thom’s car stopped in the parking area of Star Kindergarten. The two-story building, painted in bright yellow, stood among shady trees. Chapter 242
Theon lay on a hospital bed. His face was still swollen, his mouth still wrapped in thick bandages, and his tongue still felt like a foreign object in his mouth that he could not control. The doctor had already said that the chances of him ever speaking normally again were very small. Maybe never. But in his heart, the fire of revenge kept burning. He did not care about his father’s warning. He did not care about Thom’s threats. He did not care about the pain that still stabbed him every time he swallowed. The only thing on his mind was one thing—revenge.“After I recover,” he swore to himself, his eyes staring at the spotless white hospital ceiling, “I will make Thom feel pain a thousand times worse than this. I will destroy the woman he loves. I will take everything he has. I will have my revenge!”His hand clenched on top of the blanket. But the pain in his wrist, still wrapped in bandages, reminded him that he could not do anything yet.***The next day, the sun shone brightly on
