"Let’s have an open marriage, Husband!"

"Without a divorce, I can fuck other men, and you can be free too," continued his wife.

Those words fell like a hammer just as Thom Haye stepped through the doorway of his home.

His military uniform was still dusty from the long trip, the smell of metal and battlefield sweat still clinging to him.

Yet his wife did not even look at him as if he were her husband or someone she once missed.

Thom stopped. His breath felt stuck in his throat.

“What did you say, My wife?” he asked softly, his voice heavy and shocked.

Rachel stood proudly in the luxurious living room, wearing a soft satin dress and makeup that was far too perfect for a woman who should be welcoming her husband home after three years of dangerous military missions.

She crossed her arms, her eyes cold and emotionless.

“I said…” Rachel repeated in a lazy tone. “Let us have an open marriage.”

Thom closed his eyes for a moment.

Three years on the front line with gunfire, explosions, blood… none of that had ever made him this speechless.

“Why?” Thom asked.

Rachel let out a long breath, as if she finally released all the complaints she had held for years.

“I am tired of being the wife of a soldier who loves his country more than his wife,” she said without hesitation. “You have nothing I can be proud of.”

“No power. No wealth. You are nothing like the husbands of my socialite friends. They all have positions, companies, connections… while you only return with medals and scars.”

Thom lifted his head, his jaw tightening.

“Rachel,” he said in a low, cold voice that trembled with emotions ready to explode. “What you are doing is not only stupid. It is cruel.”

Rachel snapped back instantly.

“Then what should I do?!” she shouted, her voice filling the luxurious room. “We cannot get a divorce, right?! So an open marriage is the best choice!”

Thom fell silent. He knew she was right. There was a contract they had agreed on three years ago, before he left for his mission.

Their marriage was only three years old. They had a daughter, Shenina, who was only two. And the contract clearly stated that there could be no divorce before their child turned five.

Whoever asked for a divorce and broke the contract had to pay a penalty of three billion dollars, and all assets would fall to the party who was divorced.

“I can have relationships with other men, and you can do the same with other women, but we will not divorce,” she said.

“That’s open marriage,” she continued.

Rachel grabbed her hair in frustration. “I regret making that contract! If I divorce you now, you will get all of our family wealth. All of it! Because I would be the one breaking the contract!”

Thom stared at her without blinking. “If that happens, would it not be fair?” he said quietly but sharply. “I worked myself to the bone in the military. For three years I sent all my salary and mission bonuses to you. I thought it would be used for our future.”

Rachel gave a short laugh, bitter, mocking, and full of scorn.

“Yes, you did transfer the money. But that does not mean the assets belong to you, Thom.”

“All the assets like this house, those stocks, the small businesses you thought we built under my name.”

Thom frowned. “Why? I told you to make them assets for Shenina. It was for our daughter.”

Rachel raised an eyebrow and rolled her eyes as if Thom had said the stupidest thing in the world.

“Shenina is too young to own any assets, so I took over everything.” She placed her hand on her chest, smiling thinly and sharply.

Thom no longer knew what to say. He was furious and disappointed.

But before the disappointment faded, soft footsteps came from the hallway.

Madam Yosie, his mother-in-law, appeared while carrying a small girl with soft light brown hair, Shenina.

The child he imagined every night in his short sleep inside military tents, the child whose photo he kept in the left pocket of his uniform while bullets flew around him.

Thom immediately stepped forward.

“My pretty daughter…” he whispered, his voice slightly hoarse. “This is Daddy.”

He smiled. A gentle smile, full of the remaining affection even though his world was collapsing.

But before he could touch Shenina, a cold voice cut in.

“Do not get too close.” Madam Yosie looked at him with open disdain. “This child does not even know you. Because you never took responsibility as a father.”

The words hit Thom harder than any punch he had ever taken in military training.

Irresponsible?

For three years, every wound, every dark mission, every night he risked his life just to support this family. To give his wife and daughter a safe life.

But in this house, his efforts meant nothing.

“Mother in law…” Thom forced his voice to stay steady. “Please let me hold my daughter. I miss her.”

Madam Yosie snorted, then spoke in a deeply belittling tone. “Go ahead. If your child wants it.”

Thom moved closer slowly, reaching out his hand. “Shenina… this is Daddy, sweetheart. Daddy is home.”

But before he could touch her cheek, Shenina shook her head slightly, her face stiffening, then she said a single name.

“Daddy Frank.”

Thom froze. The name fell like shattered glass.

Rachel gave a small laugh and covered her mouth in fake politeness.

Madam Yosie lifted her chin, as if proving that Thom meant nothing in this house.

Frank. That man was his half-brother. The legitimate son of the Lanster family and the official heir.

While Thom was the son of the second wife of the late Mr. Lanster. A child given a name but never love. For that family, Thom was only an illegitimate son!

The Lanster family's relationship with Rachel's family should not be good because they hated Thom. But now, Thom's own daughter knew Frank more than him?

Thom looked at Rachel for an explanation, but Rachel answered after her mother walked away with Shenina.

“Yes, Frank and I have a special relationship. His cock has visited my pussy many times.”

Ravenswood Academy stood majestically atop a hill, surrounded by dense pine forests and a thin layer of mist that almost never completely disappeared, even during the day. This elite boarding school was renowned as an educational institution for the children of nobles and royal families from various countries—strict discipline, a demanding curriculum, and a prestigious reputation that had endured for more than a century.Yet less than a month after her arrival, Shenina Haye's name had already become the talk of the entire academy, not because of her academic achievements, but because of her antics.During Kingdom History class that morning, Professor Whitlock stood at the front of the classroom, his face already showing extraordinary exhaustion even though the lesson had only been underway for ten minutes."Miss She," he said, trying to maintain a calm tone, "could you explain why your textbook is filled with... these drawings?"He held the book high, revealing pages covered with cart

Jasmine stood silently in the doorway connecting the palace to the riding arena, having already heard the entire conversation from the moment Yitzhak asked about Shenina. Her face was calm, but her eyes held something far more complicated than calmness alone. She stepped forward, her simple dress swaying gently in the morning breeze, her long brown hair flowing freely—a far cry from the formal image of a queen, looking more like a mother who had just woken from a peaceful night's sleep to check on her children."Yitzhak," her voice broke the silence that had begun to feel heavy, gentle yet firm, "you're sweating a lot after horseback riding. Come inside and take a shower first."Yitzhak turned, slightly surprised to see that his mother had already been standing there. But there was no objection on his face, only a quick nod, as though the question he had just asked had been completely forgotten because of his mother's simple concern."Okay, Mom.""And Sadie," Jasmine continued, this t

Elena Reyes couldn't sleep that night. After Thom left, she stood for a long time in front of her floor-to-ceiling window, staring at the city lights flickering in the distance, but her mind was nowhere near them. Her hands were still trembling when she finally reached for her private phone—not the one she normally used for company business, but an encrypted phone reserved for one purpose only. She dialed a number she had long since memorized by heart. The call connected after the third ring."We have a problem," Elena said, her voice more fragile than she wanted to let on."The King of Valemoor knows. Thom Haye... He knows everything—Whitfield, Kessler, even Aldric and Ines. He met with the government here before he came to see me. They've already prepared an international case file."A long silence followed on the other end of the line. Then the voice that answered—cold, flat, devoid of emotion—made the hairs on the back of Elena's neck stand up even more than when Thom had been sta

Dawn had not fully broken when the main training ground of the Royal Military Academy was filled with rows of the Nameless Army—the elite force without names that answered only to the direct command of the king. Aldric and Ines were dragged out of the palace's underground cells, their hands bound behind their backs, every trace of the arrogance that had once defined their positions now gone from their faces.Thom stood atop a wooden platform that had been erected overnight, dressed in his ceremonial black royal robe, his expression as cold as stone. Below him, every senior government official, member of the Council, and representative from each palace division had been summoned to witness the event—not as entertainment, but as a warning they would never forget."Aldric Venmoor and Ines Calloway," Thom declared, his voice echoing across the entire training ground, "have been found guilty of betraying the Crown, selling the kingdom's secrets to foreign powers, and knowingly endangering

That morning, Aldric arrived at the palace with confident strides, dressed in the ceremonial robes of a Founding Council member—robes he rarely wore except on the most important occasions. The message he had received from the royal secretary the night before had kept him awake with anticipation.'King wishes to discuss your greater role in the kingdom's line of succession.'Aldric had waited years for this moment. Years spent serving quietly in the shadows of the other founding members.Meanwhile, in another corridor, Ines was making her way toward the palace with the same excitement in her eyes. Her message had been different.'King wishes to discuss expanding the budget and authority of the Royal Communications Office.'It sounded like the promotion she had worked toward for years, earned through countless crises she had successfully managed.Neither of them knew the other had been summoned that same morning.Inside his office, Thom sat calmly behind his desk as though it were any o

Rachel fell silent for a moment, her eyes fixed on Thom, who still stood tall before her.Without realizing it, her hands had begun to tremble."You..." Rachel struggled to steady her voice, but the slight crack in it didn't escape Thom's notice. "You really haven't changed. Your presence is still just as... merciless.""Yeah," Thom replied flatly. "My presence is merciless, Rachel."His gaze never wavered. "Especially toward traitors like you."The words struck Rachel far deeper than she wanted to admit. She drew a slow breath and tried again, this time softening her tone, attempting to rebuild the bridge that had just collapsed between them."Fine," she said, folding her hands neatly in her lap, pretending to be composed even though her fingers still trembled. "Then let me ask you one last time, Thom. Not as your ex-wife, but as someone who possesses valuable intelligence for this kingdom."She held his gaze. "Do you want my help against Whitfield and his network?"She paused delibe
