The leather seat cradled Yemin as the Rolls-Royce glided through the evening traffic. His phone buzzed – Samuel Lee, CEO of the Ravol Company Group.
"Chairman Ravol," Marcus's voice carried a note of concern. "I've just been informed about the... situation with Mrs. Ravollor. Should I cancel the collaboration with her company?"
"No need. Just let it proceed as planned."
As the call ended, he leaned back, closing his eyes. The city lights outside blurred, and suddenly he was thirteen years younger, lying in a filthy alley, the metallic taste of blood in his mouth.
He could still feel the boot prints on his ribs from where the thugs had kicked him. The Ravol family’s golden boy, reduced to street garbage after the power struggle that had torn his family apart. He'd left with nothing but his mother's matching rings – ancient family heirlooms that even in his darkest moments, he couldn't bear to sell.
The pain had been excruciating that night. As his vision faded, he encountered a kind stranger who offered help when he needed it most.
She'd shared what little food she had and tended to his wounds. In gratitude, he'd given her one of his mother's rings despite her protests, watching her accept it before losing consciousness.
When he'd awakened, she was gone, but someone else was there – an elderly man in an immaculate suit, watching him with eyes that seemed to contain entire universes.
"You have a choice, young Ravol," the man had said. "Die here in this alley, or learn to rule from the shadows."
The next five years had transformed him. The Old Man of the Mountain, as his allies called him, taught Yemin everything – how to build invisible empires, how to make world leaders dance to his tune, how to control global markets with the lightest touch. By thirty, Yemin controlled more wealth than the Ravol family had ever dreamed of.
But even with all the money and power he had, there was one thing Yemin could never forget: his parents’ death.
He was sure it wasn’t an accident. No way.
Over the years, he’d stayed out of the spotlight, keeping a low profile. Hardly anyone knew what he really looked like.
He wanted the people behind that “accident” to think he was dead, too. Meanwhile, he had his guys working behind the scenes, digging for the truth.
And when he finally found out who was responsible? Oh, they were gonna pay. Big time.
But there was something else he couldn’t let go of—the little girl who’d saved him years ago.
She’d stuck in his mind, like a piece of his past he couldn’t shake.
He’d spent years looking for her, hoping to find her again. Then, three years ago, his team finally tracked her down through that ring he left to her.
That little girl was Katherine.
Back then, Katherine was just a regular person, working a normal job, trying to get by. But to Yemin, she was everything.
He didn’t think twice—he dropped everything to be near her. He used his connections to help her start her own company, quietly making sure she had everything she needed to succeed.
He didn’t want her to know it was him, though. He just wanted to watch over her, to keep her safe. It was his way of paying her back for what she’d done for him.
For Yemin, Katherine wasn’t just a memory. She was the one good thing he held onto, the reason he kept going, even when things got dark.
But now, everything had changed.
He felt the divorce papers in his pocket.
The girl who'd saved him in that alley was gone, consumed by ambition and pride. Yet he couldn't bring himself to destroy what he'd built for her. It was just a token of repaying her debt.
Yemin’s phone buzzed again.
"Boss, there's something else..." Marcus's tone shifted, becoming more careful. " Marcus Chen from the Chamber of Commerce – has just contacted us with some urgent information."
Yemin adjusted his cufflink. "Go on."
"It's about your mother's death, sir. He's found something."
The evening traffic crawled past outside, but Yemin barely noticed it now. His mother's case – after all these years of searching...
"He's made a reservation at the Crystal Palace," Marcus continued. "The entire top floor. He insists on reporting his findings in person."
"When?"
"Tonight, sir. He's already there, waiting."
Yemin had planned to head straight back to the office, his mind occupied with Ravol Company's acquisition details. But now...
"Tell him I'm on my way." His voice had gained an edge of intensity that made Marcus fall silent for a moment.
"Of course, Chairman.”
After ending the call, Yemin's thoughts drifted to his mother's ring, still sitting in the penthouse drawer.
With everything happening so quickly, he'd almost forgotten about it. Now that the ring was with Katherine, this last remaining piece of his mother's legacy felt more precious than ever.
He'd have to retrieve it after the dinner. At least this one wouldn't be lost to him as well.

But even as he asked the question, he knew the answer. Yemin Morgan's reach was apparently far more extensive than anyone had realized. While Justin rotted in his cell, Agent Collins was busy implementing his emergency protocol. The first stop was a rundown apartment building on the east side, where he found Marcus Webb, a low-level drug dealer who had witnessed one of the Sphinx's operations."Please, man, I don't want any trouble," Marcus pleaded as Agent Collins kicked down his door."You testified against my boss," Agent Collins said coldly, pulling out a silenced pistol. "That was a mistake.""I didn't have a choice! The cops said they'd put me away for twenty years if I didn't cooperate!""And now you're going away permanently."The gunshot was barely audible through the silencer, but Marcus Webb's body hit the floor with a definitive thud.Agent Collins's next stop was the office of forensic accountant Sarah Mitchell, who had been instrumental in tracking the Sphinx's financial
CHAPTER 245 PART 1
The chaos outside Justin Castellanos's building was unlike anything the city had seen in years.Camera flashes erupted like fireworks as reporters pressed against the police barriers, their voices creating a deafening cacophony of questions and accusations."Mr. Castellanos! How do you respond to allegations linking your company to multiple unsolved murders?""Is it true that you ordered the assassination of key city officials?""What about the bribes to judges and politicians?"Justin's face was a mask of barely controlled fury as he was led through the gauntlet of media attention. The handcuffs bit into his wrists, but the humiliation cut far deeper than any physical discomfort."This is a fucking witch hunt!" he snarled at the nearest reporter. "You vultures don't know what you're talking about!"A reporter from Channel 9 pushed her microphone closer. "Mr. Castellanos, sources say you've been operating a criminal empire for over two decades. Do you deny these charges?""I deny ever
CHAPTER 244 PART 2
"Sir, maybe we should lay low for a while," Vincent suggested cautiously. "Yemin is starting to look more dangerous than we initially thought. Maybe even more dangerous than his mother was."The mention of Elena Ashford only fueled Justin's anger further. "Don't you dare compare that upstart to her. Elena Ashford was a formidable opponent, but she was predictable. This... this is something else entirely."Before Vincent could respond, another subordinate burst through the office doors, his face pale with panic."Sir! Sir, we have a problem!""What now?" Justin snapped."The police are here looking for you, sir. They're asking questions and demanding to speak with you personally."Justin scoffed in disbelief, his anger momentarily replaced by incredulous laughter. "The police? Here? Do they have any idea who they're dealing with?""Sir, they seem very serious," the subordinate continued nervously. "They're not taking no for an answer.""Then go out there and remind them who signs their

Faye stood in the doorway, her hands trembling slightly as she met Yemin's gaze. The weight of her guilt was evident in every line of her posture, and when she spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper."Yemin, I came to apologize," she began, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I know I have no right to be here after what I did."Yemin stepped aside, allowing her to enter. Marcus Chen gathered up some of the sensitive documents from the desk, giving them privacy while remaining close enough to intervene if needed."Faye, you don't need to—""No, please let me finish," she interrupted, her voice growing stronger. "You warned me that things would get dangerous and bad. You told me that being close to you would put me at risk, and I promised I would stand by you. I said I would be with you no matter what happened."Yemin watched her carefully, noting the pain in her expression. "Faye—""But when the time came, when you actually needed me, I froze up," she continued, her voice brea

Chapter 242
The tension in the courtroom was palpable as Rebecca Martinez sat frozen on the witness stand, unable to answer Yemin's simple question about what was on his torso."Objection!" Prosecutor Alex Morrison shouted desperately, jumping to his feet. "This line of questioning is irrelevant to the charges!""Overruled," Judge Patricia Williams replied firmly. "The witness has testified extensively about intimate knowledge of the defendant's body. This question is directly relevant to her credibility.""It's a very simple question, Ms. Martinez," Yemin said calmly, his voice carrying clearly through the silent courtroom. "If you've seen me naked a hundred times over several months, surely you can describe what's on my chest and torso?"Rebecca's eyes darted desperately toward the prosecution table, silently pleading for help, but Morrison and his team had no way to assist her without revealing their knowledge of the fabricated evidence.Realizing she had to say something, Rebecca decided to t
