Katherine sighed dramatically as she strode into the penthouse, her heels clicking against the marble floor. The divorce was finalized, Yemin was gone, and now all that remained was to erase his presence from her life entirely.

"Get rid of all this junk," she ordered the house staff with a wave of her manicured hand. "Throw it out. Donate it. I don’t care, just make sure nothing of his remains."

The maids hesitated—Yemin had lived here for years, and his belongings were intricately woven into the home. But under Katherine’s sharp gaze, they quickly moved to obey.

She leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, watching with detached amusement as his suits, books, and other personal effects were packed into boxes. It was pathetic, really—how he had believed he was an equal in this relationship.

She was about to leave when she stepped on something that rolled beneath her foot. Wincing, she looked down.

A ring.

The maid gasped from the doorway. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, madam! That must have fallen from Master Yemin's box when I was tidying earlier."

Katherine frowned and crouched to pick it up, rolling the small circle between her fingers, inspecting the intricate patterns carved into its surface.

It looked kind of  familiar, then it hit her.

Her heart lurched as she hurried to the storage room, digging through boxes of discarded items until she found a small tarnished pouch shoved behind old winter coats.

She hadn't touched it in years—not since she had taken it from Faye Langford and tossed it away like unwanted trash. Staring at the two rings side by side, Katherine let out a breath. The patterns—delicate, intricate—fit together seamlessly, forming a complete design.

How was this possible?

Her fingers tightened around the ring as suspicion coursed through her. "Yemin and Faye Langford… identical rings?"

Her stomach twisted. There was only one explanation—Yemin had been involved with Faye.

Faye and she had once been close when they were still classmates. Faye's family had been powerful then, before their business crumbled, before she became just another forgotten name in high society.

Katherine had visited her house once and had spotted the ring sitting on her dressing table. It was unusual, beautifully crafted, and something about it had drawn her in.

She had taken it impulsively, slipping it into her pocket without a second thought. Faye never mentioned its disappearance, and Katherine had quickly lost interest in it, tossing it into a storage box and forgetting about it entirely.

"That bastard."

For years, she had assumed he was nothing but a spineless, obedient househusband. But now, everything made sense. He had probably been keeping another woman in the shadows this whole time, quietly watching her climb while sneaking around with Faye.

Anger flared in her chest. She snatched her phone, ready to call him and demand answers.

Then, her phone buzzed with an incoming call.

Her mother.

Katherine exhaled sharply before answering. "What is it, Mother?"

"Oh, darling!" Her mother’s voice was practically glowing. "I just heard the news—you finally got rid of that useless man!"

Katherine closed her eyes for a second. "I don’t have time for this—"

"Listen to me," her mother cut in, excitement bubbling in her tone. "James has booked a table at 6 star Restaurant to celebrate your Ravol Company deal. He wants you there."

Katherine’s breath caught slightly at his name.

"James Franx."

He was the man she truly wanted. Smart, ambitious, ruthless—everything Yemin wasn’t. She had spent years getting close to him, proving herself worthy of standing by his side. And now, after securing Group Ravol’s partnership, she was one step closer.

She threw one last glance at the rings before tossing them into her purse.

"I’ll deal with this later."

"Alright, Mother," she said, adjusting her hair in the mirror. "Tell James I’ll be there soon."

Yemin stepped out of his Rolls-Royce, his gaze lifting to the grand entrance of 6th Star Restaurant. The establishment catered exclusively to the elite—powerful figures who dictated the course of industries and economies.

Yet, as he approached the entrance, two security guards blocked his way.

"Sir, may I see your membership card?" one of them asked, his tone neutral but firm.

Yemin raised a brow. "I don’t have one."

Whenever he came here in the past, Marcus Chen personally accompanied him. He never needed to use a membership card here.

The guard immediately straightened. "I’m sorry, but entry is for members only. If you’re here to dine, please have a member accompany-”

Before the guard could finish, a voice rang out behind them.

"Oh, my! If it isn't my former son-in-law."

Yemin turned, his gaze landing on Katherine's mother as she stepped out of an expensive luxury car, an air of superiority radiating from her.

The older woman gave him a slow, mocking once-over. "What are you doing here, Yemin? Did you think crashing this place would somehow make Katherine take you back?"

Yemin frowned, remained silent, his eyes unreadable.

The guard cleared his throat, his voice cold. "Sir, if you're here to dine, we simply need a member to accompany you. It's standard procedure for everyone."

Katherine's mother laughed, the sound saccharine and dripping with disdain. "Don't waste time on him. He never belonged in our world, and yet, here he is, still trying to force his way in."

"This restaurant only serves those with power, influence, and wealth," she continued with a smirk. "Three things you severely lack. But don't worry, my future son-in-law, James Franx, is a platinum member here. He booked the best table tonight, in honor of my daughter's success.”

She folded her arms, smirking. "Unlike you, he’s actually worthy of standing in these halls."

Yemin barely spared Katherine’s mother a glance as she continued her tirade. His patience for nonsense was nonexistent tonight. With a flick of his wrist, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

“Marcus,” he said coolly.

On the other end, Marcus Chen’s voice was instantly alert. “Chairman?”

“I’m outside the Restaurant,” Yemin said flatly. “Your staff seems to think I need a membership card to enter.”

Six months after the collapse of Thomas Morgan's criminal empire, Yemin stood in the witness box of the federal courthouse, his testimony serving as the final nail in the coffin of one of the largest human trafficking operations in the country's history."Mr. Ashford," the prosecutor said, "can you tell the court what happened when you finally confronted Thomas Morgan?"Yemin looked across the courtroom to where Thomas sat in shackles, his once-immaculate appearance now reduced to a standard orange jumpsuit. The man who had terrorized so many looked small and defeated."Thomas was cornered," Yemin replied calmly. "His organization was destroyed, his assets frozen, and federal agents were closing in. In his desperation, he tried to use my sister as leverage one final time.""And how did that confrontation end?""Thomas surrendered when he realized he had no remaining options," Yemin said. "The evidence against him was overwhelming, and even his most loyal subordinates had turned agains

"My anger was free too. And it's been growing every day since you killed our mother."Thomas stared at Isabella in shock. "How is she... you can't be here. You're secure. You're controlled.""I was never controlled," Isabella said, her voice carrying fifteen years of suppressed rage. "I was surviving. Waiting. Learning everything about you and your operation so that when this day came, I could help destroy you completely.""No," Thomas whispered. "No, this isn't how this was supposed to go. I won. I defeated you, Alexander. I broke your spirit.""You broke nothing," Yemin replied, stepping closer. "You gave me time to plan, resou

The secure communication room on the top floor of Thomas Morgan's facility had become a war room filled with panic and desperation. Banks of monitors displayed feeds from various locations across the city, and every single screen told the same story: Thomas's empire was burning."Sir, the waterfront facility is gone," reported a trembling communications officer. "Complete loss. Thirty million in assets, destroyed.""What about the pharmaceutical front?" Thomas demanded, his voice tight with barely controlled fury."Overrun twenty minutes ago. The attackers knew exactly where to find the hidden laboratories."Thomas slammed his fist on the control panel, causing several monitors to flicker. "How is this possible? How do they know everything?"Vincent Caruso, his wounded shoulder bandaged but still functional, looked up from his position at a tactical display. "Because they've been planning this for months, Thomas. While you were playing with your prisoners, they were dismantling your o

"You loved that music box," Yemin continued, watching her carefully. "You would wind it up every night before bed and make the ballerina dance while you hummed along. You said the ballerina was lonely and needed someone to sing with her.""Stop it," Isabella said, but her voice was weaker now. "You're trying to plant false memories.""You had a stuffed elephant named Patches," Yemin pressed gently. "Gray felt with a pink ribbon around his neck. You carried him everywhere, even though you pretended you were too old for stuffed animals."Isabella backed away from him, her carefully controlled mask beginning to slip. "These are just... these are just good guesses. Anyone could—""You were afraid of thunderstorms," Yemin interrupted. "When the lightning flashed, you would run to my room and hide under my blankets until the storm passed. You said the thunder was angry giants fighting in the sky.""No," Isabella whispered, pressing her hands to her temples. "No, that's not... I don't rememb

Emergency alarms began blaring, and Thomas's radio crackled with panicked voices."Sir, we're under attack!" came a frantic report. "Multiple breach points, professional assault team. They're moving toward the upper levels!"Thomas grabbed his radio. "Lock down everything! I want every security protocol activated!""Sir, they seem to know our defensive positions," the voice continued. "They're avoiding our kill zones and hitting our blind spots.""Impossible," Thomas snarled. "No one outside my inner circle knows those details."Thomas looked at Yemin with renewed suspicion, but before he could speak, Vincent Caruso burst back into the cell."Boss, we need to evacuate you now," Vincent said urgently. "This isn't a random attack – they're coming specifically for this level.""Who?" Thomas demanded. "Who's attacking us?""Unknown, but they're well-equipped and they know the layout perfectly," Vincent r
