Chapter 42.

Two days later, Lecter and Anna were chilling in the garden of their home when Anna unexpectedly got a call that her father had died. She sprang up and began to cry, rolling on the floor, but Lecter was quick to hold and comfort her, reminding her to take it easy on herself because of their child.

They had arranged the burial for the next day. Everyone was present at the St. Martha Catholic Church, and in the front row, Mia tried to sit in the middle of Anna and Lecter, but Lecter didn’t allow it; he didn’t even sit in the middle of the two women. Anna was the one beside Mia, and so he kept her close to himself.

The priest started to preach, and after he was done, he prayed, and it was time to go out and bury the dead.

Anna wept profusely.

When the burial procession was done, everyone returned to their respective homes. The lawyer was left with the family to read the will. He was ready to get it over with.
