Damon wondered why his parents weren't asking him any questions at the moment, even though he was glad it was so, as he hadn't prepared an answer yet.

He knew he had to say something that would please them, or they might send him away or even kill him, calling him a monster.

He helped them gather the ones who were still alive, and together, they all set out to leave the town he grew up in. Not that he had any great memory of the place anyway, and he wasn't in his right mind to miss anything.

Just when he thought he wouldn't miss anyone, his mind flashed back to the small boy who saw him in the academy's hospital, and his heart raced again.

"Maybe he would have gotten killed, too. I heard almost all the students were killed, and only a few were able to escape. Out of the few that escaped, they are all with us at the moment, apart from a girl, and looking at the kids, none of them look like that boy, which means he must be dead, but why do I feel strange all of a sudden? Could the boy be trouble?"

Damon was lost in his thoughts as they ran into the bush. They all wanted to escape as far as they could before the beasts chased after them again. They made sure to kill the remaining beasts before they escaped so that none of the beasts would see them escaping, and they ran away before new ones could catch up to them.

Even Damon killed a few as he was almost as strong as the Elders and even stronger than most of them with the 55% of powers that he had at the moment.

They continued running, and after a while, they finally stopped as they were all tired. "We will rest here for a while and continue later. We need to get out of this vicinity as fast as we can before they catch up to us again." Lucas suggested.

Being the one who rescued them and led them into the forest to escape, the people had started looking up to him as their leader, and they were ready to adhere to whatever he said to them.

They all sat down to rest for a while, and that was when Lucas walked over to Damon, who was sitting with the other kids. "Marcus, can we talk?" He asked gently.

Damon's heart raced right then. He was scared, as he already knew the reason for the meeting he was about to have with his father, and he wasn't ready for it yet, but he knew he had to do it at one time.

He looked at the kids around him, hoping any of them could be of help to him; however, all of them were busy playing away as if nothing was going on at all, and the more mature ones were crying about the loss of their loved ones.

He stood up and walked toward his father. "You want to see me?' He asked with his eyes lowered. He found it hard to look at his father's face.

Lucas nodded. "Yes, we should walk away from these people so we can talk very well." He suggested, but that only scared Damon more.

"Is he planning to kill me there? He doesn't want people to think that he killed his son, so he wants to take me somewhere else and kill me there. Is that his plan?" Damon was already thinking ahead.

Having known that humans tend to fear what is more powerful than them, he knew he wasn't safe with them anymore, and if anything, he needed to be wary of them.

At the moment, he had 55% of power, and Lucas only had 20%, but being an adult, he was naturally still stronger than Damon, and that was a big disadvantage to the little Damon.

He looked around, hoping there was someone who could help him, but they were all humans, and he knew none of them would accept him for who he was. Just when he was thinking of this, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and his eyes widened.

"Marcus, what's it? Can I come with you guys?" It was his mother, Wendy's voice.

She saw what happened earlier, and she must have figured out that Damon wasn't a normal human, so she must want to find out what he was too. Damon's fear only increased with Wendy joining them, and he wanted to escape more.

"Why are you so pale, Marcus?" Lucas asked with a little smile on his face.

Damon quickly shook his head. "Nothing. I'm okay..." He replied. "Whatever, I already died once anyway. Who knows if I would return to my world if I die here? They should do whatever they want. They will be the ones with no child on earth, and I wonder if they will be able to hurt their only child anyway." He assured himself inwardly before he forced a smile."Yeah, let's go." He finally agreed.

"Can I join in? I have some questions to ask, too." Wendy pleaded and Damon nodded, agreeing with her. He already accepted his fate anyway, so whatever happened wouldn't faze him anymore.

They all found their way deeper into the bush and stopped when they figured they were far away from everyone else.

"So, will you tell me now? What am I? Or... What are we?" Lucas asked the moment they stopped and Damon let out a deep breath.

"We are vampires. The blood-sucking monsters people know..." He wasn't able to finish his words when he felt a stab in his stomach!

  • CHAPTER 10: ATTACKED

Damon found the answer reasonable enough, and he liked it, too. More than anyone else, he knew he had to get stronger, and he was ready to do anything to do that. "Okay. I should go meet Dad. I should help them as much as I can." He said as he ran away from his mother and toward the direction where he knew his father would be. "Marcus, you are awake?""Marcus, do you feel better now?"The villagers who saw him passing asked him, but he had no time to answer any of them as he ran toward his father. "I will help you, Father." Little Damon said with a big smile on his face. Knowing that his family still accepted him despite knowing he wasn't human was something that warmed his heart, and it made him love them more. A few years later...Little Damon had grown into a 15-year-old boy, and during the last 5 years, he had tried growing his powers at every given chance. He no longer relied on blood as he didn't want to alert the people, but he would go out during the night to fight some b

  • CHAPTER 9: BEAST

"Marcus!" Wendy was the first to scream when he saw the metal sticking out of her son's stomach. Fear gripped her soul as she quickly rushed forward to save him, but she wasn't fast enough. Lucas ran quickly. He grabbed Damon's hand and dragged him toward himself, but he still wasn't fast enough, as the metal had been pulled out of Damon's stomach, and there was a big hole in his stomach. Damon looked at the hole in his belly, but for some reason, he wasn't scared. He raised his head to look at the creature who stabbed him from the back, and his anger grew. It was a beast... a humanoid beast but a weak one. Damon removed the knife that his father kept in his trousers and ran forward, without making a sound. He stabbed it into the neck of the beast and watched the beast fall to the ground. "It... It stabbed me from behind. It... cheated." That was the last word that came out of his mouth before he fainted, but Lucas was quick enough to grab him before he reached the ground. Wendy

  • CHAPTER 7: INITIATION

"Lucas! You can't leave me like this. You know your son, and I can't leave without you. Please, you have to live!" Wendy cried as she kneeled beside her husband and her child. She was panicking as she was scared. The last thing she wanted was to lose her husband... "Please..." She pleaded more. Lucas looked at Wendy's face and shook his head sadly. "I wish to live too..." He said and turned to face Damon. "I want to stay with my son too. More than anything... I want to watch him grow up. I want to watch him laugh and play for a long time... I don't want him to see me like this either..." He struggled to say as blood was already dripping from the corner of his mouth. Damon knew he was dying already, but he was in shock. He saw the notification that popped up in front of him, but he was divided. Would his father want to live even if it meant that he would become a vampire? Would he not hate him if he made him a vampire? He had a lot of questions on his mind, and it was scary. "Dad...

  • CHAPTER 6: RAID

Damon's heart raced. He looked around in search of what had gone wrong, but he could see nothing. Looking at the bodies on the ground, he needed no one to tell him that it was the bodies of the people in his town as he knew a lot of them. "What happened here? Was this done by me? Did I become a monster while sleeping and... did this?" He panicked, but there was no way to confirm, and when he looked at his body, apart from the blood that dropped on his shirt when he was injured and Tiana's blood, there was nothing else to see. He was still on this thought when he heard screams coming from very far away from him. He frowned and turned in that direction. He thought about going there to see what was going on, but more than that, he decided to find his earthly parents first. "Are they dead too, or did they run away? They will never run away, leaving their only child, would they?" He questioned himself as he tried to think about what must be going on, but he was clueless. Without wasting

  • CHAPTER 5: CONFUSED

Damon was in shock. Everything seemed like a dream to him. When he saw the first notification, he thought he was starting to gain his powers as an angel back, but what was this? His face turned pale as he was in utter disbelief, but the scream of the boy woke him up, and he tried to act. He wasn't in his right mind, but one thing he knew was that people mustn't see him at that moment or he might get killed as a monster. He turned to look at Tiana, and thankfully, she was asleep. To his surprise, she had a very big smile on her face even after what he did to her, and that made Damon wonder what kind of person she was, but more than that, he knew he had to get out of the room. He turned around to look at the crying boy only to find out he had collapsed, and a loud grunt escaped from his mouth. He took a few steps forward toward the boy, and he saw that he wasn't responding. Having confirmed that, Damon escaped from the room and made his way home with red eyes... He was in a big mess.
