The university hallway was flooded with voices. Both students and school staffs hurried from one lecture room to another, clutching books, documents and unfinished assignments like they were racing against tune itself.

Ray walked through the crowd with his bag pack hanging from one shoulder, headphones fully on though no music was playing

"... You still haven't submitted your internship application? Mannn!" A familiar voice called out to him from behind.

He turned around and he's friend jogged over, waving a stack of papers..

"I'm doing good Adam thank you, and how was ur night too?" Ray replied sarcastically.

"Ooh spare me that bullshit!" Adam added. "Come on man what's the problem? Why haven't you applied yet seriously? The deadline is tomorrow."

"I know..." Ray replied as they continued walking down the hallway.

"Then give me a good reason why you haven't applied yet?" He shrugged.

"I don't feel like it.."

Adam stared.

"You don't feel like it? That's no good enough reason ..." Adam added. "Do you know how many people would kill for this opportunity?"

"A hundred or one thousand probably."he responded.

"Then?"

"Look Adam! not that u feel entitled or anything, but u don't just want to spend my whole life climbing a ladder someone else built..."

"You're weird.." Adam blinked..

"So I've heard a million times!" He responded as they both bust into laughter.

They were already at the school exist at this moment. "Alright then, see you at the party tomorrow," Adam said with a goodbye gesture as they both pated ways.

Ray walked down the street to the bus stop and suddenly it started raining. He waited their for over an hour till it stopped pouring but still not bus had arrived so he decided to walk it home..

On his way, he's phone vibrated. 'MOM!'

"Hello?" He answered.

"Did you submit the application honey?" She asked.

"...."

No response, the call went silent for a second then he laughed quietly.

"You're laughing?"

"No!"

"You are."

" Its just.. I just think it's funny, that's all."

"What's funny?"

"Nobody asks if it's what I actually want."

Silence imince again, then came the familiar response.

"We only wants what's best for you."

"I know!"

He really did know, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was....

Everyone believed they already knew who and what he should become before he'd even figure out who he was.

"Its alright mom, we'd talk about it when I get home. I love yo......" He felt something strange before he could complete he's statement.

Everything just felt strange, the wind stopped, not slowed down but stopped completely. The city's sounds vanished cars, voices, rain all silent.

He slowly removed he's headphones as he looked around in confusion still trying to make sense if what was happening

"...What?" He frowned. Then he saw it.

A thin silver leaf ne stretched across the night sky.

It looked like cracked glass, the stars behind it vent in a very unnaturallt manner.

He rubbed he's eyes, looked all around him but every other person was just busy going on with their day no reactions or anything.

"Wait? What? I'm I the only one seeing this?" He thought to himself. The crack widened, just enough for something beyond the sky to stare back. He saw a giant eye.

"...No..." His breath caught.

The crack pulses once more, and the entire universe seemed to shudder. He's phones screen flickered. Streetlights died, every wundwi around him went dark. Yet, nobody screamed nor looked up.

At this moment he was really sure he was the only one seeing this. The next moment the eyes was staring straight directly at him..

"FOUND YOU!" A loud ringing voice said, vibrating everything.

Then words started to appear, not on the sky, but inside he's mind.

[Searching...]

"...Who's there?" He said in fear as he stumbled backwards.

[Candidate Found].

"..No.." he's heartbeat accelerated, breathing almost in possible.

[Compatibility....: Unknown]

"I've Searched for you for a long while, we all have but we found you now. It is time we need you." The ringing voice said as a sliver light blazed from the eye in the sky like a newborn ssun.

really

Ray immediately threw an arm over his eyes. The light swallows the city, swallowed the world, every single thing..

".... FINALLY." This was the last thing he heard before everything turned white.

"It existed long before either of us arrived.""This world just keeps getting bigger..." Ray said looking around again.Lily, who had spent mos

The crystal pulsed slowly, rhythmically even like the heartbeat of something alive."This is the crystal of Orgins?" Ray asked.Mira nodded. "It predates the Adventurer Union. The oldest records claim it was recovered shortly after the fracture." She added. "No one truly understands who created it, but it has never once given a false reading.""If you possess an authority, it will identify it," Aria added crossing her hands. "If you've awakened mana, it will measure your realm.""And if your soul carries a legacy." She paused. "It will know ."".... I don't like this," Lucian spoke quietly."....Neither do u," kael agreed.Ray frowned. "I thought you'd both be curious.""We are," Lucian answered. "But curiosity and caution often walk together."An elderly man in deep blue robes suddenly stepped forward from beside the crystal. His long silver beard reached nearly to his waist, and a monocle rested over his left eye. Despite his age, his back remained perfectly straight."Captain Valen

The clearing looked different in daylight, broken branches deep claw marks and bandits bound together with strips of torn cloth. The little girl slept peacefully against a fallen log, exhausted after everything she'd endured.Nearby, Ray sat staring at the coin-sized black fragment that had dissolved into his body hours earlier. He still couldn't understand it, neither could Lucian nor Kael."...Any idea what happened?" he asked."...None," Lucian admitted."If that truly was a System Fragment..." Kael said, he's voice unusually thoughtful "...It shouldn't have reacted to you."Footsteps approached before anyone could continue. It was Aria, she spent most of the night questioning the surviving bandits one by one.She was now holding a worn l

" I think there's been some sort of a misunderstanding here," Ray said as he slowly raised both hands."There has!" Aria replied calmly. "My mistake was assuming you would surrender peacefully.""... That's... That's not what I meant." Ray replied. The little girl suddenly stepped forward from behind him."No..no," she said spreading her tiny arms. "He saved me!"Aria's blue eyes shifted toward the child and her expression softened, slightly."...Come here child." Aria said."N-No!" The child replied, shaking her head violently. "He isn't bad!"Aria frowned. "Stockholm conditioning?"".... Seriously?!" Ray blinked Kael laughed so hard Ray almost lost his focus. "I like her, I really do like this one.""Ooh my!
