Chapter 21: Good things

"Miss, this is your medicine and breakfast."

"Umm... Thank you for taking care of me."

"Don't mind it, it's the nurse's job to take care of people."

The nurse leaves with a smile.

I was currently in the hospital bed and having a good rest. It's been two days since the fight in the dark mansion occurs.

Yumi and Taki seemed to be badly injured and get immediate medical treatment.

It's a good thing that Kaoru gave me money before they leave or else I can't pay anything here.

I look to my empty wallet and make a big sigh.

"My friend's lives are better than money, There no reason to be sad. But I wonder how they doing. It's been two days since I saw them."

It's only been five days since I leave the residence of Koyuki-san and many things already happened.

I wonder what they talking about while we're fighting.

The final boss monster seemed to have great anger at my mother and what is the connection of this pure white sword.

Not only that, but he also stated Blue haired mages.

In the past battles, I also notice that I'm having this strange power all of the sudden.

Every time my wrath eat my feeling, this strange power started to take over my body.

While in that state I barely felt anything. I don't even feel breathing at all.

But in exchange, my body started to feel worse later after the battle.

Pure white sword, Blue haired mages, and My mother.

I wonder what happened in the past?

If my mother is an awesome state knight, then why she started to leave peacefully in Rum town and afraid to let me go outside the town. I wonder why my mother doesn’t want me to leave the Rum town.

There are many things that I don't know in this world yet.

“But someday I will learn.”

Somebody knock on my door and open it.

"Sorry for coming? Did I wake you up?"

The girl that came in is Koyome with some flowers in her hand. She then goes and changes the flower on my vase.

"No, it's okay... I'm already awake, I'm just in deep thought."

"I see, here I got some flowers for you. Sorry, it's nothing fancy, I can't afford flowers and just pick up in the flower patch."

"It's okay That flowers are quite beautiful and nice."

"Really, That's great I thought you're gonna be disappointed in me big sister Laura."

Koyome said.

She started to arrange the flower in the vase and peel some apples for me.

"Thank you, Koyome I heard from my nurse that you watch over me while I'm sleeping. Speaking of visiting did you already visit Yumi and Taki?"

She put the apples on the table and said.

"I already visit them but the only one awake is Taki. She's really loud and eats too much, She also brags the things she did inside the mansion it's quite annoying."

"Well, Even she's like that I think she got a big kind heart, then how about Yumi?"

Koyome started to have a dejected expression. Turning her glance away from me.

"When I visit her, I saw that the doctors are in a panic."

Yumi's physical damage is worse than Taki's, I guess this is expected. She just receives a direct attack from the spear. Having a deep thought I turned my head upon the ceiling.

“Huh?!”

Above me, I saw a red-eyed girl.

"Don't tell me?"

"I was watching you while you're sleeping."

Said Yumi who's hiding in the ceiling.

Koyome jump in surprise and screamed.

“Gyaa!”

“Eh?! I thought you got that large wound in your belly.”

Yumi gets down from the ceiling and replies.

"Don't be silly, my physical regeneration is stronger than any human... Look the cut in my belly is already gone."

She shows me her tummy and saw that she's telling the truth. After that, she gets some of the apples and had a bite.

"Apples so yummy."

"Well, I'm glad that you're already okay... The doctor said that I need to stay for another night until I can go out."

"Then Rest well to Laura."

Said Yumi and give me a brief grin.

After that huge stomp is heard in the corridor outside of my room and someone suddenly opens the door with a slamming sound.

"Hey, you are the one who did this aren’t you!"

With some scribbles on her face, Taki enters too my room with a raging expression on her face. She’s so angry her eyebrows already meet each other.

Yumi on the other hand look away and make a no sound whistle.

I see, she did it.

"You red-eyed witch... I will make you pay for this..."

Taki immediately charges toward Yumi and started to attack her but Yumi immediately blocks every attack Taki throw at her.

"You're good in using skills but I guess you're lacking some physical ability."

"What did you say?"

"I'm just saying the truth besides you deserve that because you tried to take Laura away from me while we're inside the mansion."

"You're still thinking that? How childish you can be?"

Koyome makes her distance from them and lays down on my bed.

"They look very energetic."

Koyome said and have a bite of an apple.

"You're right, I guess this is the better. Seeing them like that makes me think that they are already okay."

I said to Koyome.

Koyome looks at their useless fight with a smiling face.

Someone entered my room again.

This time is an angry nurse searching for Taki and Yumi.

"Hey, the two of you go back to your room!"

"It's that nurse again that forces me to drink that bitter liquid."

Said Taki with a scared expression.

"Don't say it that way, it's just medicine. The bitter the better."

"No, I don't want to drink that."

"Water blinding spell: Water prison."

The nurse cast the blinding spell on Taki.

"... Huh where is the pink-haired girl?"

Asked the nurse.

We look toward the window silently and saw her running away.

"That another brat is a pain in the ass."

The nurse takes Taki back to her own room and then started to chase Yumi.

What a ruckus? I thought as I look at the scene with cold eyes.

"Big sis Laura sorry I need to go now. I have to attend my job in the bakery."

"Huh? You're working in the bakery?"

"Yup a kind-hearted girl accepted me in job exchange of letting me live in their house."

"That's great."

Koyome stands up and prepares herself to leave.

"... When you're okay, I will come here, and let's have some fun tomorrow."

"Yup, I'm looking forward to it."

"See you."

"Then take care."

Koyome leave.

The silence falls upon the room again.

Leaving only one person.

I make a big sign and look up in the blue sky from the window. The clouds drifting like always.

Mama, I make a lot of friends. a weird pink-haired girl who seemed to be psychopathic sometimes named Yumi and a loud energetic girl named Taki. I also got some more friends like the little sister type Belle and Koyome. I almost forgot Koyuki-san, her daughters, and Kaoru-san. They are all nice and kind. I'm so lucky to meet them.

The outside world of Rum town is indeed dangerous but at the same time is fun experiencing new things. It's dangerous but I think I can still go on.

Don't worry too much about me. I will try my best to survive here.

I close my eyes and take a rest.
