William and the crew could be seen strolling towards the vast water body with silent and cautious step. At the moment, each of them had a long black fabric covering their head. The black fabric served as a camouflage each time the beam of the light rotated in their direction.
As the land was plain and filled with dark sand and skeletal remains, covering themselves in black clothings made them more difficult to detect from afar. Thankfully, this barren land had no sort of abnormalities, not even corrupted creatures that usually raided the night. If there were unlucky enough to have faced anyone, their location would be revealed to the cult once and their entire plan would be ruined. "Walk faster! We need to be at the island before morning arrives!" Theobald announced to the others while strolling beside the hero. Both of them took long strides forward, their eyes cautiously scanning their surroundings from time to time. King Julian and the others increased their pace and soon caught up with the hero and the captain. Now beside each other, they moved even faster. The sound of the dark water in front of them flowing could be heard, and as they got closer, it became even clearer. It sounded peaceful. It could even be considered beautiful and tranquil if the dark island and the maleficent tower were not present. At this moment, everyone had only a single question that frequently tormented them — Would there be any abnormalities around the gloomy waters? Although Osborne had stated that the research of the true light wizards did not include anything about there being abnormalities inside the water surrounding the dark island, the crew were still worried. There had been cases of powerful abnormalities existing in such places. Even in Muzez kingdom, the farmers usually reported surviving the attacks of massive sea abnormalities. As this question kept troubling their minds, they could not help but start discussing it among themselves. But the captain wanted none of it. "Remove your mind from all negative thoughts this instant! Remember that what you fear becomes a reality, so halt those discussions!" The soldiers gulped nervously and went silent instantly, continuing forward at an even faster pace. William's eyes were fixed on the roof of the tower where the beam of light was already moving towards them. As usual, he announced to the others, and they lay flat on the ground and covered themselves with the black fabric until the light went by after about a minute. After it was over, they continued moving once again. In less than thirty minutes, they were already standing at the beginning of the vast water body, ready to begin swimming towards the island. "Remember the plan! Once the light sweeps in this direction, dive in and swim underwater. Stay low and do not come up until it is past us! Is that clear?" Theobald resounded the plan they had discussed at the beginning once again to ensure no one messed up their mission. The soldiers nodded their heads and began preparing themselves to swim. Fortunately, the Muzez Kingdom had a wide river, and almost everyone—including the soldiers—had learned to swim at a very young age. William had only gone swimming once or twice in his life, but he was still a good swimmer. Staring at the maleficent dark island one last time, the hero stepped forward and submerged himself in the water. The cool liquid seeped into his skin, bringing comfort. The others followed his example and waded into the river. After a few minutes, the entire crew had already begun diving their way towards the dark Island. Now swimming, William realized how he had underestimated his strength and agility in situations like these. His swimming pace was faster than the fastest Olympic swimmer on earth by several folds. Also, swimming felt less stressful than he thought it would. He never got tired despite the pace he was swimming at. It was a thrilling feeling. While he was perfect at swimming thanks to his level ups, he could not deny that the others were also good at it. Even the old wizard was swimming as though he was in his middle age, and King Julian looked comfortable and tireless, just like the other soldiers. 'At this pace, we would get there quicker than the initial calculated time of about three hours.' William noted as he continued swimming forward with the grace and speed of a mythical merman. As the journey continued, the only obstacle was the constant beam of light which surveilled the surroundings of the dark island actively. While swimming was pretty easy, diving deeper and swimming underwater was pretty difficult as they had to hold their breath for a long time and try to go unnoticed by the surveillance as much as they could. But it never demotivated them. After all, prevention was better than cure. Just like that, time went by and they reached the bank of the dark island! William made the crew halt while he cautiously scanned the surroundings. A very tall fence could be seen standing gallantly, enclosing the hideout. Several figures dressed in dark robes similar to the cultists they faced at the barren plain could be seen strolling around the fence in small groups, patrolling. William could not tell their levels, but his intuition told him that these ones were just as weak as the one he killed, maybe even weaker, considering their job was mere guards. William counted about four dozen of them. "There are so many of them outside." He reported back to the others who found it pretty difficult to see clearly. William's perception got better after each level up, hence he could detect tiny details even from a very long distance. "What should we do?" King Julian asked. William turned back to look at the fence and responded, "I have a plan to get us in." He proceeded to discuss the plan with the others. The plan was easily agreed on by everyone. William waited for the beam of light to rotate past them before summoning his sword and swinging into action.

Early morning had already arrived over the dark island. The sun shone brightly over the evil island, radiating a strong golden glow and heat. The sun easily permeated the small confinement of the room which only comprised of a few wooden chairs, a bed and a tall wooden cupboard where the previous owner of the room kept their wands and attires.Inside a spacious, dimly-lit room at the dark island, the core members of the two groups could be seen standing around a small desk.Melissa and Peterson brought out a more detailed ancient map of the place and described it to William and Theobald who represented their group. Only two members were allowed to attend the meeting thus both of them were sent."The first three floors are very easy to clear, they comprise mostly of mid-level apprentice wizards with barely enough mana in their mana reserve to cast powerful spells. While they are a little bit stronger than the wizards guarding the fences, they are not that much trouble for a well-traine

The crew ended up spending more than half an hour discussing about the plans to infiltrate the dark tower, how to act within it, how to avoid suspicions, path to follow, and where to find certain important people inside the tower. Most of the explanation was done by Peterson, the trustworthy assassin of Melissa's squad. His information and description were clear and vivid—better than reading it from a map.Melissa and a few members of her squad also added to the information available. As they had been around the tower for several days, their understanding of the place was an important lesson to William and the others.During their discussions, they had to halt several times—either when the surveillance light flashed in their direction or when actual members of the cult walked by.They were able to finish their discussion without drawing that much attention to themselves. After they were done discussing, they began preparing to act on the plans they had just finalized."Here."Melissa

So you guys heard the same thing?" The one in the middle replied."Frederico wasn't lying, I overheard two of our superiors discussing about his arrival.""I suspect something important would go down in a few days. After the peculiar sensation of passing through the portal faded, William found himself standing in a strange, unfamiliar location."Wow!"The scene before him prompted the hero to exclaim in genuine astonishment.Spread before his eyes was a vast, barren land plunged into darkness and gloom. Only the faint crescent light of the full moon hanging in the sky battled the intense blackness. Not far from his current position, William’s gaze fell on a truly vast, large water body that stretched over a long distance, seemingly unending from his perspective. The hero needed no geography expert to tell him this was Dark Island, the sacred landmark and hideout of the most terrifying dark wizard cult in this dark world. The sound of water calmly flowing could be heard clearly, and the waters were almost visible as they softly reflected the moon."What is that?"A surprised voice muttered behind the hero as its owner’s eyes suddenly and instantly fell upon a mysterious, silhouetted structure ris
