"Jordan, what do you think you're saying?" Mark was the first to recover, and immediately, he burst out into a fist of laughter.
The others also burst out laughing looking at Jordan, disdain written all over their faces. "If it were not for your dishonest acts, do you think we would all be here?" Mark sneered as he stopped laughing. "Besides, if it was you in the past who said this, then I would have believed it without a doubt." "Who the hell do you think you are right now?" He continued with a sneer. "You're just a criminal, so you'd better shut the heck up and not interfere in what you're not supposed to." "I...." Jordan wanted to say something, but he felt a soft tug from Zoey and thus didn't say anything again. "Fine, I'll get the contract in three days." Zoey agreed. "I have your divorce papers ready, get ready to sign them in three days." Mark sneered. He firmly believed that there was no way Zoey was going to be able to get the contract, so he was not even thinking about it. "Fine." Zoey gritted her teeth and pulled Jordan out of the banquet hall. ------ "What do you think you were doing back at the banquet?" Zoey glared at Jordan immediately after they stepped into the house. After leaving the banquet, she brought Jordan straight to the house where she lived. After the incident, the Clarkson family considered her a shame and took everything from her. The only thing they didn't take was her job and this was because they felt that she was useful and would help them secure more contracts. Her pay had been cut and she was barely given enough to sustain her. "What do you mean by that?" Jordan asked as he looked around the house in confusion. He had a lot of questions he wanted to ask, but he felt there was no need to ask. He was going to know after he did some investigation. "What you said at the banquet. Do you think I have a chance at getting the contract?" Zoey sighed, rolling her eyes at Jordan as she managed to fight back her tears. Jordan was someone who was just a victim of injustice and she knew about it. Besides, he was an excellent man, and she believed that if he was given the time, he was going to rise once again. Also, he was the first man she loved and most probably the last, so she was unwilling to get divorced. "Don't you believe that you could get the contract?" Jordan's voice softened as he looked at Zoey. He could read the emotions in her eyes and thus knew how she felt, so he felt rather sad. "You're intelligent, and I believe that if you put in more work, you'll be able to get the contract." He continued, his voice growing softer with each second. "Stop trying to praise me and tell me why you were so confident?" Zoey sneered, trying to hide the smile on her face. Back at the banquet, she could feel that Jordan was extremely confident and she had felt that aura from him five years ago, so she felt that he had a means. "Alright, to tell you the truth, I've not been in prison all this while." Jordan sighed. Zoey's eyes opened wide in shock hearing what Jordan said and she didn't know what to say. "After a month of getting to prison, we were taken away by the army to serve as soldiers depending on the number of years we had to spend on the battlefield." Jordan continued. "So while on the battlefield when we went on a rescue mission, I was able to rescue the son of the owner of Skyline Technologies, whose father then came to see me and promised to help me anytime I needed help." Jordan continued.. Though his words were a lie, it was not entirely that. The first half was the truth. And the last half was the truth. He had indeed saved the son of the owner of Skyline Technologies, and the other party was willing to offer up the company, but Jordan was not willing and just turned it down. After all, he too was not a poor man and, over the years, had amassed quite a number of wealth which he couldn't count. Also, he felt that the company was too small, and the owner had a whole lot of other companies, so he was not interested in taking over just a minor company. Zoey's eyes widened in shock as she looked at Jordan. She couldn't believe her ears. "After five years, we were allowed to return back and now I'm retired. I'll just have to look for a job." Jordan didn't allow Zoey's thoughts to wander and continued. "So I'll give him a call, and I'm sure that as long as your proposal is good, they would be willing to give you a contract; after all, what they need is talent." "But aren't you supposed to use that favor to get yourself back and bounce back to what you were before.." Stuttered Zoey not knowing what to say. "You think too much wifey. I'm giving up this favor for you cause I know you can do it. Also, you don't want to divorce me, right?" Jordan continued, a smirk curled up on his face. "Yes...." Zoey nodded, her heart beating heavily as she couldn't believe that Jordan was going to do so much for her. "Then you should just trust your instincts and prepare for the contract. Take it tomorrow, and I'm sure they'll be willing to review it." Jordan continued. "Yes..." Zoey nodded. "Then you should waste no time and go and prepare for the contract so you can take it tomorrow; after all, we don't know how long it would take them to review it." Jordan smiled. Zoey nodded and immediately turned around walking into the room to do as Jordan had said. Jordan had a smile on his face as he watched Zoey walk away. He had already come back and he was not going to allow anyone to bully his wife or take her away from him.Latest Chapter
Charging A F*e
Walking into the building, Jordan soon found his destination: the conference room where the men were. Most of the time, they were here discussing matters about the country. And if they were not, they were in their apartments, which were still inside the barracks. The moment Jordan walked in, Maximus and the three old men froze, seeing a figure walk into the conference room.Just as they were about to say something, they saw who it was, and their frowns morphed into a smile."Jordan, you didn't mention you would be coming." Maximus, the closest to Jordan, stood up, welcoming Jordan, while the other three also nodded gently.Azure Dragon, on the other hand, looked around as he followed Jordan into the conference room. The room was large; the air conditioning, too, was just too soothing. At the moment, the four old men were sitting, and his master had also sat with them. Then, by the front was a large screen. Though currently it was not on, Azure Dragon could tell what it was used for; a
Going Back
ErudiaAt the base, the void shriveled up and tore open. The next second, Reaper 25 at the forefront stepped out with the others following behind. At the moment, everyone could only swallow back the saliva in their mouth. How long had it taken them to travel?Heck no, it was not even up to fifty seconds. This method of traveling was something they didn't know about."You should stay at the base and get some rest; since Xander is not around, just treat it as your holiday. I won't restrict your movements," Jordan's voice sounded right behind them as he stepped out of the void with Azure Dragon carrying an unconscious Jake."Commander, let's help with that," one of the men stepped forward, ready to take Jake from Azure Dragon."Don't worry, he's coming with us. We still need to head to the capital," Jordan answered before Azure Dragon could."Alright, go take some rest, or you can head to wherever you want to," Jordan said once again, turning around as his hands pulsed with golden Qi, sl
Aurelia
AureliaHalf of the sky was red. The original bright sun now had a huge black cloud in front of it, plunging half of the entire city beneath it into darkness. The half-red sky didn't seem to help matters, as the color continued to spread, slowly changing the reflections downwards into blood red.The residents, on the other hand, didn't seem to care about this, each moving towards their destination as if they weren't seeing what was happening. It wasn't that they weren't scared; rather, they were used to it. The government had claimed it was just a small climate issue. But the ominous feeling in the air made everything feel suffocating, and a few people couldn't help but hold umbrellas over their heads to avoid looking into the sky.At an alley inside the city, the void shriveled, and soon a tear in space appeared. The next second, two figures stepped out of the open void. The moment they stepped out, the space began to close slowly until it closed completely, as if something had not j
Trouble In Aurelia
Jordan and Azure Dragon arrived back at the villa. After placing Amelia in one of the empty rooms and altering her memories a bit, Jordan walked out.Everything had been settled. The Brown and Martins families should be gone by now.But then, wait. It wasn't supposed to be those two families only. There was supposed to be an idiot named Jake Harrison? Why was he not involved with them?Could it be that he had yielded to his warnings and stopped following those low lives around? That shouldn't be the case, right? But then, at the same time, it seemed like that was the case.Anyways, he couldn't care less about all of that. All he wanted was to deal with all those that had crossed the line.As for Jake, he couldn't care less about the other party. Since he was not involved, then he was not going to pursue the matter.Heading back to the living room, he sat with Azure Dragon and resumed watching the show they were watching right before they left.As for the two families they had just des
Destroyed
Minutes later, Azure Dragon and Jordan pulled up before the Martins family Villa.Alighting from the car, the two walked slowly into the Villa. The guards had already been notified, so they didn't stop them and just let them in.Walking into the Villa, Jordan's gaze landed on Bruce and Kenneth, who were sitting on the sofa as if waiting for him.By the side were both their sons, Allen and Oris, glaring at Jordan. Not far from them was Mason, who had his head down, not daring to look at Jordan. On a like chair was Amelia, tied there, staring at the scene, wondering what was happening.Jordan's gaze landed on Amelia, and seeing that she was fine, he looked back at the old men.Amelia had been traumatized quite a lot by these people; he couldn't let her witness the bloody scene that was about to happen next. Also, he was thinking of maybe manipulating her memory a bit, or maybe wiping away this part. That would be the best. Also, he would have her move in with him. He now lived in a quit
Abducted
(The Next Day)"This Redroot should be able to aid your breakthrough," Jordan spoke, grabbing a red fruit which looked like an apple but had been split in half, staring at it.Maximus had sent it over the day before as soon as he could, making sure Jordan had gotten it."Here," Jordan continued, throwing the fruit to Azure Dragon, who caught it feeling a bit strange. He should have known better; the master didn't ask for compensation because he wanted to use it. Of course, it was for them. The last time, he had given him the Qi vein. Then the Sky Jade fruit to everyone. They all knew Jordan had a lot of rare treasures, but none of them dared to covet them. This was because they knew they couldn't handle the strength of these treasures. If they could, Jordan would have already given them what would aid them."You should get stronger quickly. Remember, there's still a lot to do if you want to head back to your Cole family to ask for an explanation," Jordan's voice came, pulling Azure Dr
