Apocalypse

"How long would it take you to get the fruit basket,Kadori!" A female's voice shouted hastily, while putting food and water into a sack.

Kadori stepped out of his room, clad in brown leather jacket and brown trousers, wiping off cobwebs from his spiky brown hair.

"Jeez, you really had to hide this where no one could reach?" Kadori lamented, wiping off the cobwebs from his body.

"Quit complaining" The lady said, ruffling Kadori's hair, while handing him the sack of food and water,"Don't be late, okay?" She said, pressing down a kiss on Kadori's hair.

"Alright mom,bye now." Kadori retrieved his small knife before stepping out of the house.

Ever since Kadori's father died in an accident,Kadori's mother has been the one taking care of him alone. She had a small farm located in a certain part of the village where Kadori would go in to pluck some fruits or harvest food grains.

Although, the family weren't affluent, they were happy with what they had. Kadori often see his mothet going extra mile to give her son the good things of the world, but Kadori would always say to her,"You don't have to give me everything mom. Just give me you."

Even if the villagers looked down on them,it never bothered them or made them feel sad.

Arriving at the small farm covered in weeds and few tall trees,Kadori placed his food bag on the ground beside a tree and went to collect the grains and fruits.

After collecting thr few fruits and grains into his basket,Kadori bent down  and set a trap for bush animals.

Waiting for hours,The trap was still yet to catch any bushmeat, making Kadori rise up in frustration. For the past three days,he has been unable to find any stray away animal to hunt. The area seemed to be void of animals, which looked unusal to Kadori.

"Maybe they are all hiding, waiting for me to leave." Kadori pondered, taking out his small knife and gripping it tightly in his right hand,"I guess i need to draw them out myself."

Kadori began to wander into the thick forest with his knife in his hand and his eyes scanning the area causiously.

At the young age of 15,Kadori was able to take down a deer with the use of his small kitchen knife and his fist. Killing the deer came as a surprise to Kadori's mother, and she couldn't help but think her son was special.

Kadori walked deeper into the forest, his footsteps quiet and steady to avoid alerting anything that might be around.

Kadori transversed through the usual spots where he was sure lots of animals would be.

Hiding behind a rock,Kadori took a deep breathe in before jumping into the area, his knife raised up and ready to strike.

"Huh? What the hell happened here?" Kadori was marvelled by the sight infront of him, taking few steps forward to examine area well.

Hundreds of deers lying dead on the floor with blood splattered around and huge wounds on their necks.

"What is this?" Kadori pondered, kneeling down beside a deer to analyze it properly. The huge wounds on their necks seemed to be caused by huge fangs, and the wound was still fresh, meaning it happened not long ago.

"Does that mean whatever killed them is still arou.." Before Kadori could finish his words,he began to hear bone cracking sounds and growls. Swifly turning around,he saw the deers rising back up,their heads and body being twisted in a strange way and long fangs growing out of their mouths.

Kadori took few steps backwards as the deer infront of him rose back up.

Heart racing,Sweats dripping, hands trembling,Kadori stood there watching the strange actions.

After the last deer rose up,the whole beast began to charge forward towards Kadori, making a gultural noise.

Snapping out of his daze,Kadori turned around and began to run as fast as his legs could carry him.

Kadori could tell from their speed that they weren't ordinary deers again, but a whole new creature.

Running through the forest,Kadori jumped different fallen tree branches and took different turns, hoping to shake them off.

After few minutes of running,Kadori got tired, climbing a tall huge tree in hopes of hiding there till they pass.

Kadori's plan worked and the deers ran past the tree without spotting him. Kadori let out a sigh of relief and leaned his back on a branch to catch his breathe.

"What happened to those things?" Kadori said, still finding the whole thing strange,"Is it some kind of disease? But what type of disease make a fang grow and increase the speed?"

Kadori couldn't quite figure out what was going on or what happened to them that turned them that way,so he thought thr best thing to do now was to head home through a different route and inform the villagers.

"Hyah!" Kadori grunted as he landed to the ground, scanning the area to make sure they were gone,he began to make his way out from the forest through a different route.

After walking for a while,Kadori arrived outside the forest. But instead of seeing people happily doing their own thing, there was chaos everywhere.

Everybody shouting and running around as some mysterious creatures attacked them and fed on them. The victims who got eaten by the creatures, rose up like the deer and began to attack.

Kadori couldn't believe what he was seeing. The village was peaceful hours ago,why then is there chaos?

While contemplating on what was going on,one of the creature began to charge towards Kadori. Kadori's body froze in fright as the creature shoved him to the ground, opening it's huge mouth to chew off Kadori's head.

Out of nowhere,a spear pierced the creatures head and lifted it off Kadori. Kadori turned to see a blonde haired man, pulling out his spear from the creature's head.

"Are you okay?" The man asked, lifting Kadori off the floor.

"Uncle Duncan?" Kadori said, hugging the huge fellow,"Please tell me what is going on."

"A disease broke out earlier in the neighbouring village and it has now spread acrosd our village." Uncle Duncan explained, dragging Kadori to a safer spot,"We have to get out here, this village is almost wiped out by the disease.".

"My Mother." Kadori said, pulling his arm away from Uncle Duncan's.

"Look,Kadori,Your mother is probably taken by the disease,we need to go.Now!" Uncle Duncan tried to convienced.

"I am not leaving without her!" Tears rolled down Kadori's cheeks as he ran into the ongoing chaos to find his mother.
