The news dropped as a bombshell to Mia because she had no idea of what they were speaking about nor had she ever heard the name Logan Frost.

She knew her grandfather wasn’t going to take this matter lightly with her especially when he was desperate to marry her into the Nelson’s family.

Her mind was in a state of confusion because she was still trying to process what had happened last night.

One thing she was sure of is that she had really done it with the stranger that she woke up to. It was really a bad idea for her to get drunk in the city of gambling

Her grandfather was going to throw a fit if he found out about that and this absurd news will make him melt a harsher punishment on her. A drunken mistake? He might banish her from the family and freeze her bank accounts, leaving her with nothing.

Lord Leinhart was capable of doing this. She rather kept quiet about it and played her cards right to get a lighter sentence from her grandfather.

“Erm, yes, that is the man I chose to marry, Logan Frost." She quickly said. “We are married already so there is no need to marry that Nelson boy again.”

“Logan frost? Who the hell is that?” Lord Leinhart barked angrily as he was fumed with anger. Mia would be lying if she said she didn't expect this kind of reaction from him.

He faced the butler. “Find him right away, what he does for a living, his family, his educational background, every single thing you think you can find about him.”

“Yes, Lord Leinhart.”

He squeezed his hand as the fear of his granddaughter ending up with a loser gripped him. “How could you do this to our family? Getting married to a stranger with no name, no reputation..”

“As long as I am not married to that tyranny. I am satisfied with who I got married to. We already have enough, why seek alliance with the Nelson’s when we are bigger and stronger than them.” She defended herself

“We will be gaining somt=ehting, even if it is not a lot, it will be better than not gaining anything. If your husband turned out to be a loser, what will you do about it?” lord Leinhart yelled at her furiously.

“Will you take responsibility for it?” he added.

“Yes, I will. If I had made a mistake with my choice of husband, it is only right that I take responsibility." She replied boldly.

Her bravery made Lord Leinhart annoyed, she might be his favorite granddaughter but she loved to have things her own way and was too stubborn..

“Sinec you have agreed to take responsibility for your mistake, I will stop every financial support that your company has been receiving from me. You will have to finance your project with your personal money.”

“If any of the projects lag behind or get delayed, I won’t hesitate to give the company to someone else."

“Grandpa, you know I can’t single-handlely fund those projects. It is a lot to carry on my own, please I am available to take any other punishments you melt out for me, seize my credit card and take my cars and houses.” she pleaded because her ongoing projects were important to her.

“If you want me to change my mind, divorce Logan Frost then come back to have a proper conversation with me.” He proceeded to walk outside the room. When he got to the door he turned around.

“No one must find out about this, not even your parents or your personal maid. Do you understand?” Lord Leinhart said coldly.

“Yes grandpa.”

Lord Leinhart managed to keep his anger under wraps because of the family reunion that they have later in the day and returned to his room quietly, leaving Mia to her thoughts.

*****

The members of the Leinhart family were sitting in the lounge, waiting for Lord Leinhart to show up. Mia had so many relatives, though they are family, most of them loathed each other and were in competition with each other.

Her cousin and her aunty recently sued each other to court over some land disputes. She could even hear them argue on the proper way to drink water. All that bothered her at the moment was the stage man that she was married to.

“Lord Leinhart is here.” The butler announced the arrival of her grandpa and the lounge went quiet immediately, everyone one rose up and bowed.

“Sit down everyone." The butler said after Lord Leinhart signaled to him. “I will remind us about the dinner rules.”

The dinner rules? Mia could say it off heart, it was a basic rule that their family had made since she started following her parents to the gathering. The family dining table was divided into three sections.

Anyone who made one million dollars profit sits in the first section of the table, if you made half a million, you sit in the second table, then those who cause losses for the family stay in the third table with no food, if the gathering is ending late, Lord Leinhart may pity them and ask the maids to serve the third table some soiled breads.

Mia and her parents were usually at the first table, her father made huge profits amounting to about five million dollars, while her mother made three million dollars profits, Mia was exceptional than her father, she made ten million dollars profits for the family.

She was a business talent just like her parents, they were like the perfect family, every other member of their family envied them for it.

Lord Leinhart spoke up. “It would be a shame to call them my family members if you still have to remind them of my rules. You may excuse us now.”

The butler bowed subtly and left the lounge, Lord Leinhart cleared his throat, “From today onwards, Mia will eat at the last table, eating spoiled bread.”

Chuckless of mockery escaped from the lips of her relatives, while she shut her eyes close in anger.
