Different books were spread out and flipped through quickly one after another. Various sizes of books were scattered across a table. A man stood in front of the table, his eyes scanning the pages. He sighed in frustration and slammed his fist down.
"Eryn, stop searching for something that doesn’t exist. You are a scientist, for goodness' sake! You’re supposed to deal with facts and real evidence, not things that are imaginary or not real." A woman entered the lab where he was working on different tests. She wore a lab coat that looked a bit too big for her small frame. Eryn turned to face her; he was also in a lab coat. He had brown eyes, short black hair, and wore glasses. Being tall, he had to lean down a little to talk to her. "Sophia, what I’m looking for is real, not imaginary. I know it exists." She stepped closer to him. "Can you explain how a golden globe with golden threads exists? You also said it has the power to connect people to their soulmates." She raised her hands to quote as she mentioned "soulmates." "Yes, it exists! Just explain what happened to that forest." "Something, Eryn. Anything could have happened to it, but not what you’re suggesting. That’s why we’re investigating it, remember?" She was growing tired of his obsession. He had been researching this for the past two weeks, claiming he saw golden threads, a globe, and a city of sorts. Then, worst of all, he mentioned that he had recently seen himself in a misty forest filled with golden threads. In the distance, he spotted a girl, and although she was far away, he could see her eyes. It was hard to grasp. "I won’t give up, Sophia. I’ll definitely uncover the truth because I know it’s real." She looked at him wearily and chose to end the conversation, knowing it would only lead to one thing—an argument. "Okay, but can you please take a break? You look exhausted—no, you are exhausted. Please, Eryn, just take a break," she urged gently. He gazed at her and sighed. "Alright, but just for a little while." "That works for me," she smiled, then took his hand and guided him out of the lab. After they left, someone entered, glanced at the table, and began picking up books, flipping through them slowly. They smiled and then dropped the book they were holding. "What a determined human," they said as they placed a thick book with gold threads and a golden globe on the cover onto the table. The book looked ancient. "I hope you discover what you're searching for, human," they remarked before leaving. Eryn returned a short while later. He set his coffee cup on the table and noticed the book, wondering how it had appeared since he had never seen it before, especially because it looked so old. He picked it up and traced the drawings with his fingers, feeling curious, and opened it. As he flipped through the pages, a huge smile broke across his face. "No way, it’s real! It’s actually real! I was right!" He shut the book, gathered his belongings, and began to exit the lab. Just as Sophia was about to enter, she collided with him at the door and was taken aback to see him leaving. "Where are you off to? You look really excited," she said, noticing the smile still on his face. "I'm just busy; I have something to do," he replied as he slipped past her and walked away. She watched him leave, her eyebrows knitted in confusion. Shaking her head, she let it go. "Sometimes I wonder a lot about him, and his odd behavior is one of those things." Eryn hurried to leave the research institute, gripping the book tightly in his hands. He was almost at the exit when a sharp pain shot through his chest. He dropped everything as the pain grew stronger. Sweat began to drip down his forehead, and his face twisted in agony. He pressed his hand to his chest and dropped to one knee, never having felt such pain before. People nearby rushed to his side as he collapsed to the floor. He heard whispers around him before losing consciousness. In the distance, a mysterious figure watched as the crowd gathered around Eryn, who was trying to help him. "Your future and the future of those with you are about to change. I can't tell if it will be for the better or worse. But I hope you are all ready for what’s coming. You have received a gift, but it comes with a heavy price. Let the power of the threads guide you," the figure said before vanishing from sight. Eryn was quickly taken to the hospital because his heart wasn't beating right. Sophia held his hand tightly, tears in her eyes. When they arrived at the hospital, he was rushed into a room, and a doctor came to help him. The hospital was very busy, with not just Eryn but also others being brought in for the same heart issues. The doctors were confused because nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but yet again the patients were in a lot of pain slipping in and out of consciousness. They didn't know what to do but they were trying their best. in another part of the city a figure stood on top a building watching the city and then they smiled. "The threads have finally awakened. It's time," a sinister voice said.

"Let me clarify this: you dreamt about him, can hear what people are thinking, and both of you see golden threads connecting you. Am I right?" Eryn asked. "Yes. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it really happened," Lyrra said, trying to convince him. "I understand," was all Eryn responded. "Do you actually believe us?" Kael inquired. "I do," Eryn answered. "Really?" Lyrra questioned, surprised that he would believe them so easily. "Aren't you a scientist? I thought people like you didn't believe in things like this," Kael said, but Lyrra nudged him with her elbow. "What's wrong with you?" she whispered to him before turning back to Eryn. "So, can you help us?" "Hmm, how can I be sure you're telling the truth?" Eryn asked. Lyrra thought for a moment and decided to try using her mind-reading skills. "Let me read your mind," she suggested. He stared at her for a bit. "Okay, go ahead," he replied. "I need to touch you; can you give me your hand?" she asked. Kael looked at th

Lyrra sat in her office, and today there were no clients. She was waiting for Emily to finish up so they could talk. After a little while, Emily entered and took a seat across from Lyrra's desk. "You wanted to talk to me?" Emily asked while stretching. "Yeah, I need your help with something. You have a friend who knows a friend, who has a cousin that knows another friend who is a scientist, right?" "That's a lot of friends you just mentioned! But yes, I do know someone. What do you need?" "I actually need the scientist's help. Can you tell me how to reach him?" Lyrra said. "Sure! I have his number; I can just give it to you." "Really? Emily, you're amazing! I appreciate it so much!" Lyrra exclaimed happily. "Wow, you must really need his help if you're this excited and saying nice things to me! But what do you need his help for?" Emily asked with curiosity. "I'm not sure yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out," Lyrra promised. "Okay then." ------------------- Afte

" Nice place," Lyrra remarked as she looked around. "That's not the reason you came here. It's a condo, not a house," Kael replied while sitting down on one of the couches. "Same difference. You live in a house, and you also live in a condo," Lyrra shot back. Kael shook his head and sighed. "Let's just talk about why you're here." "Why are you so eager?" Lyrra asked as she settled onto the couch opposite him. "What do you mean, why am I eager? Aren't you curious about what's happening between us? You said you daydream about me." "Excuse me, I do not daydream about you," Lyrra defended herself. "But that's what you told me," Kael smirked. "No, I said I saw you in my dreams; it's different." "You saw me in your dreams; that means you daydreamed about me. Either way, your mind was filled with thoughts of me," Kael said sarcastically. Lyrra tried to stay calm. "You're right. Let’s just get this over with. Do you know what's going on?" "Nope, that’s why you're here—to explain it

"And your schedule for next week..." Aria listened as her assistant went over her modeling appointments for the upcoming week. They were in her living room, and she couldn't help but wonder why she had given her assistant a spare key in the first place. She wasn't excited about it at all. As she glanced at her assistant, who was still talking without pausing, she quietly muttered to herself, "I need a drink." "Is there anything you want to say, Miss Aria?" her assistant asked. With a forced smile, Aria replied, "No, not really. Is that everything?" "Not quite; I still need to go over your company's schedule," the assistant continued. Aria's smile grew even more strained. Before the assistant could continue, Aria cut her off. "Actually, let’s save this for another time. I'm feeling pretty tired, and I bet you are too, right?" "But..." "No buts—you’re dismissed." Without waiting for an answer, she stood up and headed to her room. Once inside, she turned on her phone and dialed Kae

Sophia stood in the lab, staring blankly ahead. She looked at the messy table and felt disheartened about what to do next. Eryn had been missing for two weeks since the incident; he left the hospital on his own, and no one had heard from him since. She wished she could have stopped his obsession with that book earlier. When a coworker walked in and saw her standing there, it made her feel sorry for Sophia. "Sophia, coming back here every single time won't bring him back," she said as she stood beside her and glanced at the messy lab, letting out a sigh. Sophia turned to her and replied, "So we aren’t going to do anything?" "The police are doing their best to find him. Just stay calm; they will locate him," her coworker encouraged. "And what if they don’t find him?" Sophia asked. "They will! Let’s be optimistic. Come on, let’s go grab something to eat," she said with a gentle smile. ------------------Eryn paced back and forth in his living room, whispering to himself, "What's hap

Lyrra stood in the busy crowd, deep in thought. Her cousin had shared how her life was in danger from her own fiancé, yet there was nothing she could do except watch her marry the same man. Lyrra closed her eyes and let out a sigh. "What am I going to do?" she murmured. She glanced around the reception hall filled with smiling faces, unaware of the true situation. Across from her stood the newlyweds, greeting their guests. Isabel wore a tight smile, as if she didn't want to be there at all. This made Lyrra feel even more heartbroken. She turned away from the couple and was about to find a seat when she heard someone call her name. "Lyrra!" She looked up to see the couple approaching her and forced a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "Oh hey," she said, noticing one of them looked tense while the other beamed with joy. The sight of Richard's cheerful face made her smile vanish. "Richard, congratulations on your wedding! I hope you treat Isabel like the treasure she is," Lyrra s
