“I am sorry, Sir. But as much as your face looks a bit familiar, I do not remember ever meeting you.” Daisy said after staring for so long.

Lucas sighed, and then he decided to reveal his identity to her and free her from her lingering suspense.

“Five years ago, you helped a young man who had just come to this City in search of greener pastures. You saved him from being robbed, and offered him some money.”

“Oh, yes. I remember. That happened a long time ago, the man was standing in the middle of the road very late at night. I was on my way home from a business meeting…” Daisy nodded as soon as she remembered.

“Well, that man you saved is me. I am sure that you don’t remember my face because it was very late at night.”

“No way!” Daisy gasped. She figured that Lucas was telling the truth when she looked closer.

“It’s you!”

“Yes, Daisy. It’s me. I searched for you after that night just to thank you, but the only thing I could remember was the name on your number plate. Buffet…” Lucas sighed, the smile on his face showed so much gratitude.

“I knew I couldn’t hesitate to help out as soon as your father mentioned his name. I figured that you could be related to him. I am glad that our paths crossed again.”

“I guess fate knows how to play its role. Who would have thought that the same man I saved from being robbed five years ago would be my hero? You have done the unforgettable for me, and I do not know how to repay you.”

“You do not need to repay me, Daisy. This is my way of saying thank you for what you did for me.” Lucas bowed in gratitude, but his actions left Daisy wondering what kind of man he was.

She saw that he had turned out to be a very wealthy man, but that wasn’t enough to get rid of his humility even though he still showed so much charisma and dominance.

A sad look appeared on Daisy’s face shortly after, and Lucas couldn’t stop himself from wondering what the problem was. He was about to ask when Daisy decided to tell him at once.

“My family hated me as soon as I had that terrible accident. They treated me like I was not their child, and now I do not know what has become of my company. My father made sure that I didn’t know what was going on with it since after the accident.”

Tears almost trickled down her face, but she was still engulfed by the euphoria of the miraculous wonder that had taken place on her body. She didn’t think she needed to cry at that moment.

“I promise to make sure your family doesn’t take what belongs to you, Daisy. I think we should find out what has become of your company. Your father looked like he wanted you out of the way.”

Daisy nodded hastily to the suggestion Lucas made, and it was time for them to leave at once.

But first, she had to have a shower after being neglected for so long, plus her clothes were so worn out that she couldn’t imagine how long someone with her prestige must have worn them.

Lucas made an order, and a lovely gown, a luxurious handbag, fancy shoes, and jewelry were brought for Daisy at once.

They left for Apex Ventures in one of the exotic cars parked in the garage. The cars were all expensive and unique so it was a bit difficult for Lucas to make a choice.

Daisy’s company was one of the second-tier leading companies in the City. But it had lost a lot of its investors barely a month after the fire incident that left Daisy incapacitated.

Her brother Pedro took over at once, but the only thing he could do was squander the company funds while heeding their father’s instructions.

As soon as they arrived in front of the building complex, Daisy got out of the car and started walking into her company.

Her steps were so stylish and elegant that Lucas admired her while he followed her behind.

Daisy tried to get into the main building, but the three security men standing at the entrance refused to let her in.

“Don’t you recognize me? I am your boss!” Daisy looked at her reflection on the casement door, but it was obvious that the security men recognized her.

They looked so stunned as soon as they set their eyes on her.

“We are sorry, Miss Buffet. But we have been instructed not to let you into this place.”

Daisy was furious the moment the security guard in the middle spoke. She clenched her fists and grunted angrily.

“Who gave that stupid instruction?!” She fired, glaring at the man who had spoken.

“Your brother…” He responded, causing more fury to surge through Daisy’s veins.

“Let me in at once! This company is mine!” Daisy insisted, but the men were not ready to budge.

She was almost about to give up in frustration when Lucas appeared.

He had been observing from a short distance.

“You heard the lady. Let her into her company at once.” His voice was calm, but it was imperative enough for the men to feel his aura.

“Who the hell do you think you are to tell us what to do?!”

The impudence of the men was all over the place, and it looked like they were about to attack Lucas.

“Leave before we force you out!” Their leader barked, but Lucas scoffed at him, calling his bluff.

The security man was so pissed that he instructed his colleagues to join him in the attempt to send Daisy and Lucas out of the building and even the premises.

Lucas had not forgotten all the martial arts training he got from the monks who trained him at the orphanage.

It was true that he had decided not to end lives but save them, but it was time for some action.

Effortlessly, he grabbed the men and beat them up until they could no longer stand, delivering kicks and punches that were so heavy and swift that the men thought they had been attacked by a spirit.

Even Daisy was confused as she watched the three of them go down.

“What the hell is going on there?! Who is making that noise?!” A husky male voice roared from a corner of the building, and it wasn’t long before a man in a fancy black suit appeared.

He wanted to focus on the three men grunting and whimpering on the ground, but that didn’t last for so long.

He was left dumbfounded as soon as he saw Daisy standing in front of him.

“Sister?” His voice quivered, but it was audible enough for Daisy to hear.
