I appeared in a big and well lit room which had silver curtains, and two beds. The floor had criss crossed silver designs, with some repeating circular patterns.
Its walls were painted with blue and silver colours, and it had a sharp and attractive contrasting light which made the room look more colourful. My gaze swept around the whole room in fascination, as I couldn't realize the source of such warm lightning.I eventually noticed the brown wooden table by the corner, which had a bowl full of tasty snacks upon it.My stomach growled. I was hungry, and craved for some snacks, so picking at least one biscuit won't hurt."Stop it Daryn!", I whispered to myself.I can't trust the school yet, after all they kidnapped me and dozens of others whose families would probably be worried about.I paced around the room until I got to another door. 'This should be the bathroom', I thought. My gaze met with the silver wardrobe which stood opposite the second bed. I was probably not going to touch anything in the room, until the 'academy' gained my trust.I turned again and walked towards the gigantic mirror that hung on the wall, adjacent to the first bed.I sighed while staring at my yet boring reflection. It was the same old reflection as always, yet they called the school 'magical'.I scoffed.Trying to look better, I adjusted one of the stray curls from my long black hair."I'm still wearing a bathrobe". I sighed again.Suddenly, my reflection transformed into what seemed to be another version of me.This new reflection was dressed in a long black royal robe. It had bright white shining eyes, and radiated some kind of visible energy, judging by its brightly glowing body as well. With an open jaw, I marvelled at such glorious reflection. I admired the power, its perfect hairstyle, neatly cut beards and perfectly shaped handsome face."Huh?"I looked closer into the mirror.A voice was heard speaking out of nowhere:"Our reflection is nothing but an illusion...it's an image of ourselves we always want to see"."Shit!!!"I was startled. I scanned the whole room to see if there was anyone with me, but there wasn't.'It was the mirror', I thought.I moved backwards from the mirror in fear, but my reflection got more clearer. As much as I loved magic, if it truly existed, seeing a talking mirror for the first time seemed very bizarre to me."Did you just speak?", I asked."Are you a talking mirror?"'And why am I talking to a mirror?', I thought to myself. The voice was heard again;"Yes, I spoke, but I'm not a talking mirror... I'm Sage, a sentient AI created decades ago...my main aim is to always assist everyone here in the academy in any legal way I can.""But I heard you speak from the mirror.""I speak through any object that reflects light such as mirrors or screens...you should get some rest for tomorrow", it said.I felt a bit relieved at the moment. My gaze remained locked upon my powerful reflection for some time, before I finally turned away.I picked up the academy's brochure which laid upon the wooden table. While standing, I stared into the paper for some seconds before looking at the mirror again."Can I call my mum? She needs to know I'm safe at least", I requested."I'm sorry, but I'm not authorized to grant you such access until you have up to ten XPs in your account", Sage replied."Fuck! This is stupid."I was frustrated.I threw the brochure out of my hand, and angrily fell backwards upon one of the beds. It felt surprisingly more comfortable than the one at home.I closed my eyes and drifted away in some thoughts about a lot of things, and thus, didn't notice when someone appeared in the room. The person called out,"Hey".My heart nearly thumped out of my chest in fright. I was startled by the sudden sound which obviously stole my attention."Who are you?", I asked while staring at the person. The stranger was a bit taller than me as I could tell, with a more matured stature as well. His silver coloured hair was neatly styled in a manner which suited the tiny silver earring he was putting on."I'm Henry, and I think we're roommates", replied the guy.I finally caught my breath, and was able to speak again."I'm Daryn...it's nice to meet you".I smiled."Thanks..."

Run
"Mum, stay back!"Taking his mum's arm, Kaleb yanked her backwards before sliding a dagger out of his pocket. Beads of sweat flushed down his face as he approached the tent, pointing the dagger outwards with each step he took. His whole body trembled while trying to maintain a solid grip on his dagger. Gradually approaching him from behind, his mum whispered, "Kaleb, don't go."Whoosh! They both flinched backwards, quivering when their eyes fell upon a mysterious figure clad in a Ninja's outfit. Frozen, they could only watch as the figure approached them, dried leaves rustling from behind him. Soon enough, the air became filled by their loud shrieks when the corpses of Kayla and her dad appeared beside the stranger in the poof of a dark smoke. Kaleb averted to his gaze to his mum as she fell on her knees, tears pouring from her eyes while she continued sobbing. "Who are you?", he cried. "Why did you kill them?""What do you want from us?!" Goosebumps carpeted his whole skin whe
Kaleb
~ Daryn ~I found myself standing beside an unconscious Daemon who laid upon a pile of books. "What happened?", I asked. With a grunt, his eyes flickered until he shot a steady gaze at me for a minute before managing to get back on his feet. Wearing a frown on his face, he asked, "Dude...are you okay?""I-I don't know...I feel kind of weird, like my mind was swallowed by darkness", I answered. I honestly didn't understand what happened; it felt as though there were missing gaps in my memories, and no matter how hard I tried to recall them, nothing came through. "How did you step into section 118 without getting plunged by the invisible barrier?", he asked. My face crumpled into a deep frown at the sound of his words. All I could remember was that I blacked out immediately the lights went off, nothing more. "I was here the whole time...I don't remember stepping into section 118", I argued. "Then how did you get that book?"That was when my attention became drawn to the strange l
Stranger Things (Part One)
~ Daryn ~The library was lit up by a brilliant golden light which was being emanated from tiny winged creatures, the size of a bug. Its several sections were spanned with wooden bookshelves which held books regarding the categories they represented, ranging from magical creatures to other supernatural stuff. The labels for each category were clearly engraved upon the chess patterned floor. Just as my marvelled gaze swept around the whole room, I couldn't help but accept the truth that this place was heaven. Receiving a shoulder bump from Daemon yanked me out of my amazement, allowing me to notice the blonde lady whose glossy red lipstick gleamed as she beamed at us. "You must be fascinated by the magic in this place", she spoke in a calm tone. "You're probably freshmen, right?"While I nodded in agreement, Daemon responded, "Yeah". "Uh...so, what are you doing here by this time of the night?", she asked. "Couldn't sleep, so we came to check out this place...and probably to do so
Boys' Night
~ Daryn ~We popped up in the dark and silent hallways, quietly trailing further into the darkness. Unsure of why we were here or where we were headed to, I remained behind Daemon and let him take the lead; afterall, he was the one with night vision and not me. Pulling him backwards after what seemed like a few minutes, I whispered, "You do know that we could get into trouble for leaving our dorm by this time of the night, right?"But he ignored me, causing my heart to pound even more in fear. I just couldn't understand why we were here and it gave me the chills because there was every possibility of getting busted, which could lead to some kind of serious punishment from the headmistress. I gulped when we walked past the unrestricted part of the hallways and took the left turn which lead to the restricted areas. "I sense trouble", I whispered. This place wasn't totally dark like the former, but was lit up by a faint golden light. As we walked past an array of silver doors, I let
It Worked?
~ Daryn ~"Ouch...it hurts", I cried. It all started right after I got my ass brutally kicked by a fellow freshman named Runn, during combat class. He lunged several lethal spells at me, but the last one hurt more than hell. I grabbed my chest as I fell to the ground, wriggling in pain after I got blasted by a heavy wave of defense magic which nearly ripped out my soul; I was almost losing my last breath until Daemon showed up and rescued me. "Get better next time", was all the combat instructor could say to me in front of the whole class. I felt like crying and screaming, but it would've only added more embarrassment to what I was already facing. I sighed each time I recalled Zora's disappointed reaction when she flung her gaze at me. My heart became filled with nothing but hatred for the academy, because that wasn't the kind of adventure I was hoping to have. Everyone's eyes peered at me as Daemon lifted me up and hung my arm around his shoulder, causing me to feel ashamed."Lo
Did you say...Coldwater?
The magical bureau was a vast building, rumored to be located upon Mount Nowhere; it was restricted to only high level supernaturals in the academy. One could call it a secret magical library which housed various kinds of magical artefacts and some mysterious creatures, all protected by the Dean's powerful barrier spell. As the Dean trailed down the hallway which was brightly lit up by a warm golden light, he averted his gaze to his diamond sceptre, only to realize that someone was waiting for him in the office. "Lyra", he sighed before poofing away. On arriving at his office, his gaze met with the headmistress who seemed captivated by what she saw. He watched her gaze settle upon the room's freshly waxed wooden walls; the air had a sweet scent which invaded her senses, causing her to feel even more relaxed on the chair where she sat. The rustling sounds which could be heard through the open windows each time the cool breeze brushed dry leaves back and forth, felt really soothing.
