Prologue: Part 5

After that, I arrived at the roof of the west side of the school. As I said earlier, this school looks like a castle, and of course, a part of the school's roof can be stepped on because the flat surface is not made of zinc but only stone. I looked around the roof and didn't see Eva there.

When I looked towards the roof's edge, there was red water on the roof's edge, and I held the red water. I thought it was some kind of red alcohol or something, but I smelled it and it turns out it is blood. I was surprised by that and suddenly stood up.

(Blood!!?)

Then when I stood up, someone suddenly pushed me from behind and I fell from the roof about 30 meters high. I was surprised by someone pushing me, and when I turned towards that person, I saw long red hair like the hair of the person on the roof of the practical test building who helped me in the magic test. When I looked again at her face, it turned out to be Vanessa. I cannot conclude that she is the same person, and what is certain that I can say at this time is that Vanessa intends to kill me at this time.

(VANSESSSAAAA!!!!!)

Luckily, I fell below a very deep lake, but I was also unlucky because falling into the lake didn't mean I would be safe. Still, it would be even more painful because I ran out of oxygen. MY BACK HURT because I fell face down and couldn't swim. I sink and sink and always sink into that lake.

Blup blup blup blup (the sound of water) …

….

...

….

I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE I WILL DIE ME WILL DIE I WILL DIE

….

….

….

PLEASE, ANYONE, HELP ME, PLEASE!!!

...

...

...

I'm almost out of breath....

...

...

...

Am I going to die...?

...

...

...

Glup glup glup (the sound of water)....

...

...

...

Died in the lake huh?.... Isn't that very dramatic..?

...

...

...

So this is what we call death...

...

...

...

Ah.. I shouldn't have followed this..

...

...

...

If possible… I want to go back in time and change everything…

...

...

...

Am I just going to give up on living?...?

...

...

...

Why should I survive when no one wants me to live?

...

...

Then I accidentally saw a reflection of light from the edge of the lake and held it up, and it turned out to be a small chest attached to a rock on the edge of the school lake. I took the chest and climbed the rocks on the lake's edge.

(I WILL NOT DIE)

I climb it one by one even though sometimes I slip, but I still struggle to live to climb it. Even though my breath was almost out, I kept trying to climb recently, and finally, the moonlight I saw was getting closer. After that…

I'm safe.

"Puah.. Huh... Huh...hah... Huh... Ohok ohok ohok" my voice breathed hastily and coughed.

(I'm still safe, huh?)

Then when I finished taking a breath, I was still hanging on the rocks on the walls of this school to get to the edge of the lake. And when I arrived at the lake's edge I lay down for a moment to relieve my fatigue.

"Hah... Huh.... Huh.." My breath slowed down.

(even people here hate me to the point of killing me huh?)

Then I remembered the chest I happened to pick up.

"Oh yeah, the chest!!" I said

I opened the chest and saw a transparent blue stone like an agate. I touched it, and suddenly my mind was floating in space.

"It's very fun to fly in the sky," I said

I saw that there was a pulpit that was blue and patterned like the stone earlier. I saw a transparent board with writing moving from the beginning of the word.

"Welcome back..."

(back? What does this mean?)

After that, I was suddenly thrown from the sky and back into my body, and I looked back at the chest, but the stone was gone. I rummaged through the chest and found a little space under the stone and a magic wand in that small room. I picked it up, but the stone was nowhere to be seen.

"Wait!! Why am I even looking for a stone, I have to meet Ev-" I said

(For what?)

It's very dangerous at school right now, especially with me, who currently can't use magic. If I show myself here I might die for real. There seems to be no other choice.

"Just wait!! I will surely repay someday!!" I said while looking up

...

..

.

After the fall of Oz, two people were on the roof watching Oz fall. They are Vanessa and Cheilos. Vanessa said

"Very far, huh?" Vanessa said while looking down in a joking tone, as usual

Then Cheilos asked Vanessa by saying.

"hah .. Why should I do this?" said Cheilos

Then Vanessa answered the question given by Cheilos by saying.

"Don't forget your assignment. Wasn't this ordered by Ms. Eva, right?" Vanessa said

"hah..." Cheilos said in a pitiful tone.

Then came the person who was the representative inviligator behind the two of them. The person said

"Good job, and thanks you both," he said

Cheilos and Vanessa were surprised by the sound and looked behind them. Cheilos said

"You're welcome," Cheilos said

Then Vanessa said

"So Ms. Eva... What are you going to do next?" Vanessa said

The person was surprised that Vanessa knew her true identity. The person answered Vanessa's question by saying.

"So you guys know me from the beginning??” Eva said

Cheilos was surprised by that and said

"So you were here the whole time!!? I thought you weren't at school right now," said Cheilos

Eva answered Cheilos and Vanessa's question by saying.

"Yeah, that's how Cheilos... it seems you were tricked... And for your question, Vanessa.. I'll be leaving soon.. So don't act up when I'm not at school, okay?" said Eva.

Eva took out her wand and chanted ንፈር (Fly). Her wand glowed and from his wand emitted magic letters that circled his wand. Eva's body glowed, too, and flew up.

When Eva was heading for her destination by flying, Eva pressed her index and middle fingers together and directed them to their ears. As her two fingers covered the ear canal, Eva chanted መልእኽቲ (Message). After her cast the spell, a magic circle suddenly appeared around her ear and said

"Hello, how about <that>?" Eva said while pointing her two fingers that had been brought together to her ears.

After Eva said that, a voice suddenly appeared from the magic circle. The person who made contact with Eva's magic began to answer Eva's question.

"I have prepared it, it's just <him> that I need to wait for now," said the person who made contact with Eva using the magic that Eva had cast.

Then Eva answered his question by saying.

"Okay.. <He> is also heading to your place too," Eva said.

After that, Eva ended her magic contact with that person by returning the two fingers she had pulled away from her ears. Then after Eva released her two fingers, Eva…..

Gia stepped into her private room with graceful yet emphatic movements. At the doorway, Fred stopped. He turned and gave a sharp stare that seemed capable of freezing the blood of anyone who dared to approach."Anyone who crosses this line without my permission will have their status in this church destroyed. The Saint does not want to be disturbed," Fred's baritone voice echoed coldly down the hallway, ensuring that the order could not be disputed. As soon as the thick oak door closed and locked, the atmosphere in the room changed completely. The warmth of the morning in the Basilica was nowhere to be felt here. I took a deep breath, letting the holy aura I wore as a "mask" in public melt away, replacing it with a much stronger aura of authority.I activated The White Fragment of the Philosopher's Stone inside my body. Instantly, pure and cold mana pressure radiated from my chest, enveloping the entire room. In this room, I was no longer just a Vatican Saint; I

  • Chapter 1: Part 70

The first morning sun of 1889 began to slip through the cracks in the velvet curtains, creating golden lines of light on the marble floor. I blinked, feeling my body much lighter after a very deep sleep. When I turned to the side, I found Fred still fast asleep. This was a rare sight; usually he was the first to be up and standing beside my bed in his neat cardinal's robe. But this morning, he looked very different from usual. His face, which usually looked stern and authoritative, now looked calm and relaxed in his sleep.I smiled slightly, then began to tease him. My fingers moved slowly, playing with the tip of his nose, then moving on to caress his slightly rough cheek. Fred groaned softly in his sleep, his head moving slightly to avoid my touch, but he didn't wake up. I laughed softly without a sound and returned to playing with his eyelids, rubbing them gently with my index finger.Slowly, Fred's eyes opened. He blinked several times, trying to gather his

  • Chapter 1: Part 69

My footsteps echoed on the long, cold marble floor of the Vatican corridor. The heavy outer robe now enveloped my body, making my every movement feel stiff and formal. Fred walked one step behind me, his red cardinal's robe sweeping the floor with a rhythmic swish. As soon as we left the private residence wing, the relaxed atmosphere of the egg tea vanished, replaced by the sharp scent of incense and the tension hanging in the air.The two nuns trailed far behind, while along the corridor, the Guardians stood at attention with their spears, saluting as we passed. I took a deep breath, adjusting my expression. Slowly, the teasing, lazy Gia disappeared, replaced by the majestic, cold, and secretive Saint."Remember, Gia," Fred whispered very low, almost inaudible to anyone but me. "Hold your energy until the last hymn. Don't let them see you tremble."I didn't answer, only gave a small nod that was almost invisible. We entered the inner balcony area that fa

  • Chapter 1: Part 68

Night, Vatican city, 31 December 1888 AD As the year continues, I am currently drinking a famous Asian beverage. People there call it egg tea; they mix tea and eggs and stir them until smooth. Even when mixed with milk, it makes the taste stronger. (Drinking this before the big annual event relaxes me from all the tasks I have been working on.)The annual major event at the Vatican is the Vigil and Te Deum, a sacred ritual in which all the time that has passed is summarized in one grand prayer of thanksgiving.Behind the tall windows of my room, the silhouette of St. Peter's Basilica stood solidly under the dark night sky. The cold December air crept in through the marble cracks, but the warmth of the porcelain cup in my hands was far more powerful. As a Saint, the burden of prayers from thousands of people seemed to weigh heavily on my shoulders tonight. I knew that church officials and important guests had already begun to fill the pews below, awaiting my presence as their interme

  • Chapter 1: Part 67

"Why are you just silent, Oz?" Claire asked in a calm but emphatic voice. She didn't yell, but gave him a look that demanded honesty. Oz's prolonged silence began to feel unnatural to her, as if an invisible wall had suddenly separated them.Claire folded her arms on the table, maintaining her dignity even though the atmosphere in the inn was getting tense. She realized that every second that passed without an answer would only deepen the doubt between them. To her, Oz's current calmness seemed more like avoidance than just a thought process.(His attitude is very strange. What is he really thinking behind that mask? Did my question touch on something that should have remained hidden?) Claire thought to herself.Meanwhile, Leo, who had been explosive, now showed a drastic change in behavior. He no longer interrupted with curses or anger. Now he just sat stiffly with a blank stare, as if all his energy and emotions had been drained in an instant for no apparent reason.Claire glanced at

  • Chapter 1: Part 66

Holmes leaned forward until his shadow covered the dull wooden table. He ignored Leo's trembling fist and Claire's scrutinizing stare as she sat stiffly in front of him. The talented detective's focus was entirely on the mysterious figure in the black cloak."So, Oz," Holmes began provocatively. "Let's talk about last night at the Guild. You managed to pull that red fragment out of the receptionist's body, didn't you? Moriarty... a consciousness capable of splitting itself. Now you must be able to sense all of their presence in this city."Oz remained motionless, but behind his mask, he felt the constant pulse of the red energy he had just assimilated. Holmes was right; he was now connected to a vast network of consciousness, but everything felt like a thick fog that was both confusing and suffocating."I can feel their presence," Oz's voice was low and echoing. "But there's a big problem. Thousands of consciousnesses are scattered evenly at the same time. I don't know which one is rea
