#How can my book get a promotion?

Each book has 3 promotion chances:

1. Signing Promotion (with at least 50k words): The book will be automatically promoted, you don't need to contact your editor now, keep updating!

2. 80k words Promotion: Editor's recommendation. Please contact your editor for promotion.

3. Stable updating Promotion: You can contact your editor for another promotion if your book meets the requirements below:

a. Release no less than 2 chapters a day,

b. Update at least 25 days in a month,

c. Release over 2,500 words a day.

#How does the promotion work?

All signed books have a chance to be promoted, but as you may have noticed, the spots on the app are very limited so there is a complex algorithm developed by the marketing team for choosing books to be promoted. You may wonder why some books stay on the home page for a long time while some only stay there for a few days. But in fact, all books start at the same place. Even the most popular books weren't in the best spots at the beginning. All signed books have a chance to be promoted, but as you may have noticed, the spots on the app are very limited so there is a complex algorithm developed by the marketing team for choosing books to be promoted. You may wonder why some books stay on the home page for a long time while some only stay there for a few days. But in fact, all books start at the same place. Even the most popular books weren't in the best spots at the beginning.

This is how it works:

Editors provide the marketing team with a list, and all books on the list will have a chance to be featured. At first, all books on the list start from a less popular feature spot, like somewhere in the bottom. Then the marketing team will analyze different aspects of a book's performance data, including the percentage of readers who doesn't only click on it but also read your chapters, and the percentage of readers who actually paid for it, and so on. If the data shows well when it stays in the bottom, then it moves to a better spot. As long as the data remains good, it will stay in the app front page, or makes in the "frequently featured list" and gets a feature regularly like once a week or twice a month. So if you see a book stays there for a long time, it means the book is popular and profitable.

But if the data is not so good, other books in the list will replace it after a few days.

So, it totally depends on the readers. We don't choose books on the front page, readers do.

However, it doesn't mean that your story is not good if it is taken down from the feature!

There are many reasons readers don't appreciate it. The most common reasons are:

1. the book title or synopsis are not attractive enough, or the topic is not what a reader likes, so many readers don't even start reading it. You can edit your book title or synopsis in that case.

2.the story is slow burn and the readers lose patience before they get to the best part of it. In this case, you can take a look at the most popular books on MegaNovel's app and I'm sure you will learn a lot from them. You can edit your book accordingly and submit the application again.

3.Your book is just not of a popular topic and the target audience is a small group of people. In this case, if your book's performance is not as good as expected, don't feel sad. It doesn't mean your story is bad, it's just the nature of this genre or topic. You can talk to your editor about it and there might be other chances for your book to shine.

Usually, your editor will share the great news with you. In case your editor forgets to, you can keep an eye on the increasing rate of your book's views. If a book's view increases for 5k, 10k or even more in a single day, it is probably on ads right now. Don't forget to ask your editor about it!
