FAQ #Edit chapters and book info

#I want to proofread my story to make sure there are no grammar mistakes. Can my editor proofread the book for me?

We are sorry but proofreading or polishing the story is not a part of our editors' job in MegaNovel. If you need to proofread your story, you can use grammar-check tools such as Grammarly. And if you need better proofreading, you can find professional proofreaders on the Internet to help you with your grammar and language.

#My editor wants me to edit my book, what should I do?

Congrats! If your editor proposes to you to edit your book, it means he/she sees the potential in your story and hopes to help you improve it. It's okay to feel proud!

However, don't feel that this is your obligation to edit it exactly as the editor proposes. It's still your choice.

Please remember, the editors always see your story in a reader's and an editor's POV. It's okay if you have different opinions because you see your story in a different POV, but please also have a little patience with what they have to say.

It's also nice if you don't just listen to whatever the editor says, but to discuss with him/her about the advices. However, the editors will not always give you very specific advices, most advices could be general and you need to think and apply for the whole story.

*If you haven't signed with us yet, editing it according to the advice of the editor can help the editor to make a decision on your offer. However, editing the story doesn't guarantee the offer.

*If you have already signed, editor will give advices aiming to make the book more popular. However, editing the story doesn't guarantee popularity.

It happens that even after you have edited the story, it doesn't turn out as you expected. Don't be upset! Stephen King takes 6 months to edit his one book and has 212 versions of editions of it. Hard work pays off, but the key is persistence. Even in fairy tales, not every effort can lead to success immediately.

Editors may have better insights, but they are not gods. Not every advice of the editors is correct or can get instant result. Also, please know that because it's not a necessary part of editors' job to give you writing advices, not all editors will do it the same way.

All in all, editing is the required course of every top author, and editors can be of help sometimes in your way of becoming a top author. Have faith and never give up, the future is bright!
