Jolie gestured towards Shane-Leo's phone, her voice barely above a whisper. "But who is that man in the video?"

Shane-Leo took a deep breath before responding. "I didn't share this with you after discovering the truth because I had my suspicions about you as well, Mother."

"Me?" Jolie asked, taken aback. "You know I would never do anything to harm you, right?"

Jolie offered a gentle tap on his shoulder in understanding. "It's alright."

"In any case," Shane-Leo continued, "this man broke into my house one night, intent on killing me. He tried to attack Norah and me, but we were fortunate enough to escape. "How dare you!" Jolie yelled, rushing to Shane-Leo's side and gently cradling his face in her hands. "Don't you ever lay a hand on my son again," she warned, her eyes blazing with anger as she pointed a finger at Walter's face. "This will be the first and last time you ever do such a thing to him."Walter's face contorted with fury. "Not only have you poisoned his mind, but now you defend him even when he's in the wrong! He's my son, and I have every right to discipline him as I see fit— do you hear me, woman?"Jolie's voice was cold and resolute as she replied, "Not on my watch!""That's right," Shane-Leo spat, his voice filled with venom. "You have no right to lay a finger on me anymore."Walter scoffed, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "And why not? Are you not my son? Or do you think you've outgrown the need for discipline? Has that CEO position— which isn't even yours yet— gone to your head?"

"So, this is how it's going to be?" Shane-Leo scoffed, shoving his hands into his pockets as every pair of eyes in the room turned to him."Shane-Leo?" Walter whispered, his voice trembling as his gaze locked onto his son. He started to approach Shane-Leo but stopped in his tracks as Shane-Leo recoiled."Don't come any closer," Shane-Leo warned."But--" Walter attempted to speak, reaching out toward his son, only to be met with a growl of anger.Shane-Leo's index finger shot up, pointed directly at his father's face, which now displayed a mixture of hurt and disappointment. "Keep those filthy hands to yourself, or else."Walter took a step back, confusion clouding his features. "What did I do now, Shane-Leo?""Oh, please!" Shane-Leo sneered, his eyes narrowing into slits. "Don't act like you have no idea what's going on.""But son," Walter pleaded softly, s

"Talk to me," Jolie urged, approaching him, her voice gentle yet insistent. "Don't tell me you've been living off junk food!""No, Mother, it's been fast food," Shane-Leo said, meeting her eyes defensively. "There's a difference.""There is no difference to me!" she exclaimed, her hands flying up in exasperation. "I'm going shopping for groceries and restocking this house. Then, I'll prepare a proper meal, along with other dishes that you can preserve and enjoy throughout the week.""Aw, thank you, Mom!" he beamed, his smile wide and appreciative."You don't need to thank me," she huffed, looking away with feigned annoyance. "I'm still upset with you!"He laughed, swiftly closing the distance between them and enveloping her in a warm embrace. "I don't want to discuss it. The past is the past; let's focus on the present."Martha's gaze dropped to the floor, her voice heavy with apology. "I'm sorry for being so inquisitive.""It's alright," Walter replied, his tone softening. "Let's just retire for the night, alright?""Wait," Martha interjected, "let's finish our coffee first." She raised their cups, offering a truce of sorts."Yeah, thanks," Walter said with a smile as they both sipped the warm beverage. Once the cups were empty, Martha washed them and tidied up the space.Noticing their imminent departure, Jolie hastily retreated from view, conceali
