~Isabella
Carl had brought me here for a shopping spree. The moment I spotted Xavier, my face tightened into a frown. This was one of the most luxurious malls on campus. Only people from the wealthy class belonged here. Xavier was far too poor to even afford the entrance. If he wasn’t stalking me, then why the hell was he standing in front of me? I deliberately stepped away from Carl, my expression curling into pure disgust. “Xavier, why are you following me? Didn’t we already end whatever relationship we had? When exactly did you start stalking me?” Xavier scoffed. “Stalking you?” He pulled his hand from his pocket. “Who told you I was stalking you? This mall is huge. Do you think it was built for you alone?” He sounded stubborn, completely refusing to admit the obvious. Carl slipped a hand into his pocket, ready to fire off a remark, when a tall, beautiful young woman walked straight up to Xavier and gently took his hand. I blinked twice. Wasn’t that Marie Thompson? The most beautiful girl in the Design Department—the dream goddess of countless boys on campus? How could she be shopping with Xavier? Carl looked just as surprised. Admiration flashed across his face as he stared at Marie. Anyone with eyes could see how elegant and stunning she was. How could a poor loser like Xavier possibly be shopping with a girl like that? Marie lowered her voice and asked Xavier, “Isn’t she Isabella Milton? The same one you’ve been pursuing for years?” Xavier’s eyes stayed locked on me as he gave a nonchalant shrug. “That was back then, when I was naive. Now I know better. She’s not worth my time.” Something inside me twisted. “Excuse me?” The words shot out before I could stop them. “Why don’t you tell her how I dumped your good-for-nothing ass?” For some reason Marie didn’t even acknowledge what I said. She simply took Xavier’s arm and spoke softly. “Xavier, let’s just pay for this lipstick and move on to the next store.” My gaze snapped to the product in her hand. An incredulous scoff escaped my lips. Xavier shrugged. “Alright then. How much is the lip gloss?” “It’s one hundred thousand dollars, sir.” Instantly Xavier pulled out his debit card. Before he could take another step I moved forward, voice dripping with disdain. “And what exactly do you think you’re doing? I got that lip gloss first. If anyone is going to purchase it, it should be me—not you!” Carl took my hand, his eyes fixed on Xavier. “Why don’t you just let him purchase it?” Carl suggested. I spun toward him without missing a beat. “What are you saying, Carl? Why would I let this pauper buy it for her? Absolutely not!” Carl slipped a hand back into his pocket and smiled. “Think about it. Why do you think I told you to let him try? Because I know he can’t afford it.” His words clicked into place. Everyone here knew Xavier was poor. There was no way he could afford one hundred thousand dollars. My lips curled into a dark grin. I crossed my arms and spoke with open contempt. “Don’t tell me my breakup deluded you this badly. Is that why you’re acting so crazy? Thinking you can actually spend that kind of money is insane. Do you even know what one hundred thousand dollars looks like?” Instead of answering my taunts, Xavier calmly handed his debit card to the cashier. “Results speak better than words.” She took it. I scoffed under my breath. His stupidity had reached another level. For him to believe he could spend that amount? This was Xavier—the poorest simp on campus. It was completely impossible. While the cashier scanned the card I continued staring him down. “Why don’t you drop the act already and accept that you’re poor? There’s no point trying to impress me thinking I’ll take you back. One hundred thousand dollars is a hefty sum for a poor simp like you. Just give up and accept that you will never be able to spend that kind of money in a single—” “PAYMENT SUCCESSFUL!” The machine’s robotic voice cut me off mid-sentence. My eyes widened in pure shock. Before I could even process what had happened, the cashier handed Xavier his card with a polite smile. “Sir, the transaction was successful.” Xavier took the card, turned to me, and smirked. “Sorry… what did you say again, Isabella? That I cannot afford one hundred thousand dollars?” I shook my head, lips trembling. No… no… this couldn’t be… this couldn’t be true!Latest Chapter

~XavierWhen I turned and saw Isabella trying to catch up with me, I was genuinely stunned. This woman still hadn’t left? And wasn’t she supposed to be with Carl? Where had Carl gone? There was no need to give her any attention. I turned and kept walking.A hand suddenly grabbed my arm from behind.Isabella stood there, her face stiff. “Xavier, are you avoiding me or what?”Avoiding you? I scoffed and threw her hand off me. “I have important things to do. You’re not worth my time.”She closed the distance between us. “Are you angry with me, Xavier? And why are you shopping with Marie today? What’s the relationship between the two of you?”I gave her a cold look. “It’s none of your business.”“Xavier, you’ve changed!” Her voice turned more aggrieved. “You weren’t like this before.”I nodded without hesitation. “Because I’ve gotten smarter. I’ve changed.”Isabella continued, “I know I did things you didn’t like and never prioritized your needs. That hurt your feelings. But

~XavierI took Marie to the Royal’s Kitchen. Once we settled at our table, the waiter brought the menu and asked us to order.I didn’t ask Marie what she wanted. I simply ordered for both of us.I wasn’t going to be a simp who bought women whatever they asked for. Instead, I bought whatever I wanted to enjoy. I felt like seafood, so Marie would eat the same thing.Women were decorative objects and companions. I only took them along so I could enjoy life more fully. This way I could keep beautiful women by my side, showcase my abilities in front of them, and watch their Affection ratings climb—which worked entirely in my favor.Marie didn’t decline a single dish I ordered. We got grouper, Italian lobster with a rich Italian sauce, crab stew, and several other exquisite plates. The restaurant’s minimum was $266 per person, but my order easily exceeded $700. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It really was a high-end place with outstanding seafood. Marie ate until she was completely satisf

~IsabellaI blinked repeatedly at the figure standing in front of me, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. Was that really Xavier? Looking this handsome after just one haircut? The designer clothes, the cool, confident smile—everything about him suddenly looked far more attractive than I could even process.Xavier had never been this handsome while we were still dating. What had suddenly happened? How could he glow up this much in just one day of separation?I was still turning the thought over in my mind when Marie’s voice rang out.“Oh my God, Xavier. You look pretty hot! I’ve never seen a guy as handsome as you before!”When she said that, Carl immediately adjusted his own hair.Xavier gave Carl and me a dismissive look before turning to Marie with a light scoff.“Yeah, thank you for the compliment. You look even hotter than earlier. Such beauty… I have to admit it.”The words nagged at my chest. Why was Xavier complimenting her like that—as if she were some kind of godde
Chapter 6
~XavierFive years into our relationship, I remembered it all with perfect clarity.Every morning I woke up early just to prepare and serve Isabella her breakfast. Whenever I handed her the plate, she would take it with a cold, downgrading look and say:“Alright, you can go ahead and leave already.”If it was raining and she still hadn’t left for school, I would drop whatever I was doing, rush to her apartment, hand her an umbrella, and walk back under the rain myself. Her only response was always the same:“You’re late.”And whenever she fell sick, I would hurry over with a cup of ginger tea so she could drink it and feel better. After everything I had done for her… she still held no real affection for me?Her affection rate had stayed locked at 1. Yet today, the moment she watched me spend large amounts of money, it suddenly jumped from 1 to 8.“Xavier! Xavier! Wait for me!”Isabella’s voice called out behind me. I turned and saw her trying to catch up. The closer she came, t

~XavierI waited patiently until Isabella had finished underestimating me all the way down the corridor, then calmly handed the cashier my debit card. Of course it was loaded with cash. The moment the machine beeped—Payment Successful!—the confident smile on her face vanished. Her mouth opened, closed, then opened again, but no words came out. Even Carl’s face showed how shocked they both were.I decided to twist the knife a little deeper. When the cashier handed my card back, I smiled at them.“Sorry… what did you say again? That I cannot afford one hundred thousand dollars?”Isabella’s face drained of colour. She shook her head in panic.“No way. You’ve got brokeness written all over you. You’re always dressed in worn-out clothes. How were you able to afford one hundred thousand dollars?! You are…”She stopped mid-sentence. Her eyes trailed over my outfit from head to toe. She pointed at me.“Wait… hold on! Those are all designer brands. How did you afford the money to buy all of t
