Test (2)

'Did...did they just kill two students!!?' Shian was beyond shocked. 'What kind of test is this where they just go killing students like they're slaughter pigs!!?'

"I.. i.. i want to go....home." A girl's voice was heard.

Sweat was rolling down the students faces, every bit of courage they had summoned to walk to the platform ahead of them was crushed brutally as they watched two students being killed right before their eyes, not even their remains was left.

A loud booming voice was heard once again.

"No one is allowed to leave until the test is over, if no one moves, he or she will be tortured before being brutally killed."

Immediately after those word were said, the student who wished to go home fainted on the spot, while another female student peed her pants.

"We need to start moving!!." Shian immediately said to Ryan and reached out to pull his hands.

"Relax dude." Ryan started and earned a frown from shian. Ryan immediately pulled him closer and whispered some words into his ears to prevent Shian from yelling at him. And like someone flipped a switch, Shian went from frowning to beaming with joy.

"If what you said is true..." Shian began while cracking his fingers. "...then this should actually be a walk in the park."

Those who heard Shian speak where looking at him as if they had just seen an idiot.

Shian and Ryan each took a step forward to begin the test. Following right behind them where the five scions, and behind the five scions was the black haired boy who Shian noticed earlier.

Shian and Ryan walked confidently ahead of everyone else. One second they were walking without a care in the world and the next, they both moved simultaneously dodging a golden ball of energy that whizzed through the air and crashed some meters behind them, digging a deep hole in the ground.

The same thing was happening behind them, the five scions were dodging the golden projectiles rather easily, Niko Emona was the most impressive of them all, he moved with super human agility —which was surprising for an abilityless person— he twisted and turned his body at unnatural angles.

Cyril Viper a thin youth with green hair, seemed to be having a hard time, but he still managed to evade all the attacks nonetheless.

Vanessa Emprie, the girl whom Shian had met previously looked to be skilled in a type of martial art that enhanced her agility, she moved in weird but efficient ways to dodge the balls of energy.

Lisa Glace— the perfect description of an ice cold beauty— although she had an angry expression on her face right now. To her it seemed like they were underestimating her prowess and where sending out weak attacks to her as a test, it was like a huge blow to her pride. She scowled furiously and continued to dodge the attacks without pause.

Lastly, Seth Solar, the muscle brained amongst the five, he moved around like an ape on an overdose of crack, he jumped, dashed and sometimes even hit others in his way if they were too slow to react to his crazy movements just so he could avoid being hit by the balls of energy. Although it looked rough, it was still efficient but at the cost of other people's loss.

The black haired boy moved nimbly without wasting too much steps, his movements where mesmerizing and even gave others who hadn't moved, the new found courage to take a step forward. The black haired youth looked calm and composed avoiding all the attacks without breaking a sweat.

Ironically, Ryan who was blind, was the only one who could see the projectiles due to his energy sensing ability granted to him by his soul weapon. He could see the balls of energy before they reached ten meters from him and warn Shian in time before they impacted.

Shian's movements were also eye catching, he didn't need more than one step to dodge the attacks, though every time he dodged it looked like it was just by a small margin. Only he and those who could read his movements knew that it was all part of his movement sequence. The way he did it made it look simple.... but dangerous.

Seeing how all the others were fairing, the remaining students behind began to join one after the other, little by little the students moved until all of them were moving frantically, desperately trying to dodge without fail.

What they didn't know was that things weren't always going to be the way they expected it to be. Suddenly the speed of the projectiles increased, now the students became more desperate.

Ten seconds was all it took before over fifty out of at least six hundred students where eliminated.

In the spectators seats, there was an uproar among them.

"WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE IS THIS!!! WHY WILL THEY JUST GO AND INCREASE THE SPEED WITHOUT WARNING?!!"

"They should be ashamed of themselves for picking on kids."

"If anything happens to my son, all hell will be let loose in here!!" A huge man bellowed, large arcs of a violent red energy pouring out of his being.

More and more people where making a fuss about what was going on, some even tried jumping in to interfere only to be rebounded by and invisible wall.

–––––––––

Meanwhile, in a more isolated part of the spectators corner.

"They are doing well...a lot more than we expected." A deep voice resounded in the small room as a large muscular white haired man spoke.

"Of course, we didn't just train them for no reason....right Lucy?" A thin tall green haired man responded to the muscular white haired man, only to throw a question at one of the only three females in the room with a smile on his face.

She glanced at him briefly before giving him a cold reply. "Don't give me that look Nicholas.... or I might rip your eyes out." She threatened menacingly with her fingers and nails suddenly elongating and turning into deadly sharp claws.

"Ohhh!! feisty, sorry...but you don't scare me." Nicholas replied calmly with a smile still on his face.

Lucy gritted her teeth and looked away. Knowing Nicholas, she knew she couldn't win an argument against him, so she conceded, after all, there was a reason why he was called 'dead tongue'

Following their little scuffle, a red haired beauty with ruby red eyes who had been silent the whole time, spoke up as waves of heat were coming off of her body subconsciously.

"Hmm ....there seems to be some incredibly talented dark horses this year."

"You mean that black haired youth?" A woman with equal beauty to the red haired replied. She had sea blue eyes and dark blue hair that seemed to be moving as if under water, her body naturally emitted a cold air which made the temperature in the room go haywire as the aura of the two beauties clashed.

"No, I was talking about the white haired youth....although his black haired counterpart seems to be good too."

"Something is strange about that kid." Lucy chipped in.

Both beauties glanced at each other confused before turning their attention to her.

"What do you mean?" One of them asked.

"I feel the presence of a beast around him, but that's not the problem..."

Lucy paused and looked at them.

"...the thing is, when I look at him..."

"I feel inferior."

If you really knew how much danger your life was in, I doubt you'll be talking and laughing this much." "What... happened?" Shian asked as he grabbed his throbbing head.He looked around, confused, until he regained his bearings and remembered what had happened, though he didn't know why what happened, happened. He sent Alucard a glance, and saw him standing to the side... with a frown. What had caused Alucard to frown? There were only two times Shian had seen him show any another expression, except an unnerving smile which he always had, on his face. The first time was when Adam pestered him on their first day in the dormitory, and the second was when he fought the beast horde in the Myriad Scapes Dungeon. Then, Alucard had showed another expression due to some reasons unknown to him. All in all, the only time he wasn't smiling, was either when the situation was too serious to joke with, or... he was just not in the mood. Shian tilted his head to the side and raised a brow. "Why am I on the floor?"Alucard almost seemed to choke on his saliva after hearing that odd question. Why was

  • Adaptability

Shian rested peacefully that night, somewhat, and woke up full of vital energy flowing through him. He took care of himself in the bathroom, emptied his bowels, and did all the stuffs boys did, before walking out of his room in his clean black ACU. He had woken up early today, and got out before anyone else to have some free time. Though what he didn't expect was for Alucard to be waiting for him by the door, in the hallway. Alucard turned his head and smiled at him as he walked out, and without giving him the chance to voice out his shock, gestured for him to follow. Shian closed his mouth and moved after Alucard, catching up to him with large strides."How long have you been awake?" Shian asked after a few seconds of silence."Demons of my level don't need much sleep." Alucard simply replied without pausing in his steps. "I've been awake since yesterday."Shian stared at him weirdly but didn't say anything. He just kept on following for a few minutes, until they got to a buildin

  • Griffinblade

Unknown to Alucard, his Ability had caused the defence of one of the Second Years, whose fort was defending, to crumble into dust, a never seen before scene. Though he had accomplished this easily by sending out a ball of Pulverizing Death Charge, they hadn't escaped easily. They all crashed on the ground simultaneously and coughed up mouthfuls of blood. It seemed like one of the seniors had an invisible attack, or an attack that was just so fast it escaped their vision. Shian, Adam and Alucard had it worse, they were the closest to the attack and hadn't even seen what happened before their danger sense tingled and they shot back, still, they suffered injuries. "Shit!" Adam cursed as blood pooled beneath him. And Ironically, Shian, Adam and Alucard who were the closest were the ones who recovered fastest. Their Vampiric Genes gave them healing traits, though not as strong as one would expect, but still fast enough for them to recover faster than their peers. Alucard stood, dusted h
