Chapter 1

Blood was drained instantly from Liam’s face as he realised that the seemingly unremarkable bellboy was actually a member of the world's top mercenary group in disguise.

His complexion grew even paler as he registered the presence of over three pairs of eyes in the hotel lobby, all observing his every move. 

The high probability that they were all armed added to the gravity of the situation. 

“Ashley…” Liam's eyes narrowed with concern for her. 

Even a fool could discern that the presence of numerous Blackwater mercenary members in disguise was anything but coincidental. 

Ashley was most likely kidnapped by them. The situation was even more dire than he had imagined. 

A single misstep could lead to disaster for everyone involved. 

The Blackwater group wasn't just a collection of professional killers and warmongers; they were infamous for their ruthlessness towards their targets and evil misdeeds.

They were called 'Devils without a conscience’ for a reason.

“Don’t worry, Boss. Leave it to me. Let me strike up a conversation with him.” As Liam and Damian walked through the hotel lobby side by side, Damian suddenly winked at Liam and said with a cheerful tone.

Right as he was about to distance himself from Liam and approach the bellboy, Liam grabbed hold of his arm and held him back, preventing a major disaster from happening.

“I wouldn't put my trust in the bellboy, Damian. He was among the individuals who were observing us as we entered the hotel lobby. Besides, look at him. His physique is far too muscular to fit the profile of a bellboy. He appears more like a bodybuilder than anything else.” Liam whispered, trying to dissuade Damian without disclosing that he had used ‘Eye of Midas’ on the bellboy.

“Shit! You are right, Boss. How could I have missed that?” Following Liam’s suggestion, Damian took several glances at the bellboy. Upon a closer look at him, Damian let out a gasp.

Besides having a physique that seemed too well-built for a bellboy, Damian also noticed that the bellboy's face did not match the features of a native local. 

Furthermore, using his peripheral vision, he noticed that the staff working at

the check-in counter frequently glanced in their direction with a noticeable sense of nervousness as well, as if they were wary or afraid of something.

“Boss, what's our plan now?” Damian asked in a panicked tone.

“Keep a poker face and look straight. We're heading back to the car. If their intention was to attack us, they would have done so by now.” Liam whispered in a low voice and kept walking with Damian, his eyes on the lookout for any sudden movement. 

Fortunately, they were able to get into their car without any hiccups. Just like what Liam had guessed, the Blackwater mercenary mission was only to kidnap Ashley, they did not want to cause trouble with the local authorities. 

  

As long as Damian and he left the hotel without gathering any information from the employee, the mercenaries wouldn't resort to drawing their guns against them.

“Damn it! Where the hell have they taken Ashley?” Seated in the driver's seat, Liam shouted as he vented his frustration by repeatedly banging his forehead against the steering wheel.

It had been almost 30 minutes since he received Ashley's distress call, and time was quickly ticking away!

Liam hated himself for not being able to protect those who placed their trust in him. This had occurred with Giorgio and Penelope, and now, he found himself unable to protect Ashley as well.

Just what kind of man am I if I can't even protect those dear to me!

Liam was in great agony. Although the time spent with Ashley was short, memories with Ashley flooded his mind. 

She was the one who believed he could work miracles when no one else did! 

Liam was certain that Ashley must have had faith in him to rescue her when she sent him the text message!

“Uh... Boss, how about we call Mister Anderson for help and capture the bellboy? After we capture him, we can just extract whatever information we need to save Ashley.” Damian suggested.

“I guess we have no other choice but to do that.” Liam dejectedly said after mulling all his options.

"Speaking of guessing, if only there were multiple choices for Miss Flander's whereabouts, I'm quite skilled at making educated guesses in exams.” Damian responded randomly.

However, unbeknownst to Damian, his random thought had given Liam a brilliant idea.

“Wait a second! Damian, you are a goddamn genius!”

“What are you talking about? How am I a genius?” Faced with Liam’s sudden praise, Damian was bewildered.

However, before Damian could get an answer from Liam, Liam tossed his phone at him.

“Damian, I need you to help me with two things!” Gripping the gear stick tightly in his hand, Liam yelled out loud as he pushed the gear stick to drive mode.

He had activated ‘Eyes of Gambit’, and in his mind started to calculate the success rate of finding Ashley through trial and error at a rapid speed.

With only ten minutes of activation time, he had to overclock his mind to its limit!

“What is my success rate of getting closer to Ashley if I drive 200 meters straight?”

[Ding! 100%!]

“What is my success rate of getting closer to Ashley if I drive 200 meters straight and then turn right and travel another 200 meters ?”

[Ding! 67%!]

“Damian, call Mister Anderson right now, and ask him if he can provide me with his military force to suppress a group of mercenaries armed with guns and rifles. Tell him, Ashley and I will owe him a great favor and that I’m willing to pay the price for his help no matter the cost. Use the GPS and update him and his troops on our location!” Liam looked into Damian’s eyes and instructed him sternly.

“G-Got it! What’s the second thing I need to do?” Damian nodded his head and inquired.

“The second thing I want you to do is swallow hard and buckle tight! No matter what you do, don’t vomit in the car!”
