The Blue Corp, the foundation formed by two technologists, Professor Lambert and his partner Professor Jerkins. It was funded by the US government, aimed at being used as a backup for the military in case of serious and advanced threats like, in civil wars or intergalactic battles.

The idea of this corporation was brought about by the genius scientist, Professor Lambert who created a high pulsing energy orb, that can be used to mutate humans and turning them into super soldiers with superhuman strength and reflexes.

This scientist shared his findings with his partner, Jerkins and together, they finalized the creation of one of the greatest invention of all time – a superhero maker.

With connections from his partner, Jerkins, they got an agreement with the government and experiments were carried out, firstly in animals. And after ensuring success in animals, they moved to humans.

The process involves chaining the human to an inclined metal chair, then connecting a series of machines to the orb pulsing high up in an enclosure. The machine channels the blue energy from the orb into the body of the human through the chest, in a slow but painful process.

So, after the successful making of the first superhuman, the US government dispatched high ranking soldiers, a hundred of them, to the lab for an upgrade. There has been war threats from a few European countries and the US president is taking no chances. He must be prepared for whatever is coming.

However, during the mutation process of the hundred high ranking soldiers, the orb which is the source of energy started going corrupt.

The orb changed form and took a greenish colour instead of the usual blue. It started pulsing more than normal. Every form of energy in the lab was greeting absorbed by the orb and everywhere went dark except from the greenish glow of the orb in the looking darkness.

Chaos started.

The one hundred soldiers still in the process of mutation suddenly grew wild. They broke the restraints on their wrists and went on a rampage.

With flamy green eyes and superhuman strength, they massacred the entire occupants of the lab. Strong fists went through flesh and bones as the weak humans screamed in pain before breathing their last.

With blood boiling, the hundred soldiers killed two times their number in the lab.

Yet, they weren't satisfied. They have no control of their body any longer. The corrupt green energy was all over them and they became more like super zombies.

Zombies that turned on each other, that is.

Yes, with no living soul around, they went on another round of rampage against each other.

It became a free-for-all battle of superhumans. The world became a blur of greens as the war of a hundred super zombies started.

The war went on for hours with no decrease in their number. Reason being they all have equal strength and none can outmatch the other. Their speed, strength and reflexes, all equal.

Then,...

The military base was informed of the happenings at the lab and immediately, a command was issue by the commander for total wipeout. "Nuke em all," the commander had instructed with a sad face. He was going to lose his best soldiers, but it must be done for the safety of the citizens.

30 fighter jets and missile launchers set off towards the lab, and in 10 minutes, the lab went down in flames together with the one hundred soldiers.

After all these, the ruined lab was searched thoroughly but there was no sign of the orb. The orb is an advanced technology that cannot be destroyed by missiles or flames, yet it was missing.

They couldn't find the two scientists too, since the lab has been razed down to ashes together with the already dead humans. So, all traces has been cleared.

What a great loss for the country. The best soldiers were lost, the best technology ever was lost, and even the two best scientists were lost... And war looms.

"Nice story, Cassie. Nice story..." Jacq sat opposite her, expressionless. "But, how does all these concern me? How?"

Cassie shifted uncomfortably on her seat and looked down at her thighs dressed in the metal suit.

What are you hiding?

"Tell me, Cassie. Fucking tell me or let me get the hell out of here," Jacq yelled out at her.

She sat up, and looked at Jacq dead in the eyes.

"Professor Jerkins didn't die during the green war. He was the one who corrupted the orb, and he escaped with the orb shortly before things got out of hand... And..." Cassie paused and swallowed hard.

"And..?" Jacq urged her on.

She covered her face with her hands and made a whimpering sound.

"... Jerkins was my father," she bursted out.

Jacq wasn't a bit surprised.

"Oh. I see. I see. Your father was a traitor. I mean, it wasn't even his invention. He only helped, and he later stole it. Shame." Jacq shook his head in fake pity.

Cassie stood up now, and made to slap Jacq's face but she stopped halfway. She returned her hand in frustration and spoke.

"Shut up, Jacq. I'm proud of him still. Can't you see? He corrected the orb. He used the orb to create something as beautiful as this lair, and he mutated us perfectly. Have you seen the technology here? Have you seen the perfection?" She shouted, growing confident by the second.

Jacq was unfazed.

"He stole it. He killed those two hundred lab scientists, and the one hundred high ranking soldiers. See?"

This time, Cassie slapped him.

Jacq stood up from his seat, rubbing his left cheek.

"Thanks for the bedtime story. Now, I'm feeling sleepy. Can you take me back home, please? I have a COD tournament to complete today."

"No," Cassie snarled. "You wanna know why you're here?"

"Yes please. Tell me, young lady."

"Professor Lambert created a key that allows the holder have the ultimate control of the orb..."

"Ugh. Another story," Jacq interrupted.

Cassie continued.

"My father has been looking for it all these years..."

"He couldn't even make his own?" Jacq interrupted again.

"Shut up!!" Her blue eyes glowed more brightly. She was infuriated.

"Sorry. Sorry. My bad," Jacq faked an apology.

Cassie went on...

"... My father has been looking for it, and guess what?"

"What?" Jacq seemed not to care but he really want to know.

He realized the key must have something to do with him. He couldn't think of the possibility but this Corp would not just burst into his house and have him kidnapped. There is more to this, he knew, and he became scared of the thought of being involved in this.

"IT WAS FOUND IN YOUR BASEMENT, JACQ."

Holy shit.

"I'm afraid we won't be releasing you any time soon," Cassie half smiled as she said that. "Come with me, Jacq. You have an explanation to do."

How is this even possible? Good god

Cassie put on her mask and pressed a button on the machine nearby. A portal opened.

"LET'S GO MEET MY FATHER, JACQ," Cassie announced in a robotic voice.

"Yeah. After that, we'll meet my mom. You'll like her."

"SHUT UP!"

A whoosh, and they vanished.

  • A secret tunnel

Jacq caught up with the boy in few seconds, cursing silently after him. Either the boy did not hear or he chose not to bother, he kept on along a small patch of bare land amidst the sea of grass before jumping suddenly, diagonally to his left. Jacq followed suit, lifting his body weightlessly and jumping silently a few inches from the kid.The going was slow as the boy looked back continuously to make sure Jacq never missed a step. Then, the hop became more frequent, left to right, to right, to left, forward... They went on jumping the invisible landmines, apparently visible only to the boy. Then, as if he remembered something, the black boy looked back one last time, with one eyebrow raised meaningfully at Jacq, before running two steps forward and stepping sideways to his right, the last of him concealed by the thick dry bushes.Alarmed, Jacq followed at once, running two steps and jumping to his right just as he did. He got behind the thick set of bushes and saw the black figure of

  • Cassie's POV

Cassie walked up silently to a raised platform inside the suiting lab. As she walked, murmurings were heard among the onlookers of the lab. Cassie bowed her head shyly as she made to speak.
