The glowing sign of MOON PLAZA Hotel could be seen from miles away. The hotel was ten stories tall and designed like a palace.
John Valerio paused at the entrance, his eyes wide. “All my life, I’ve only heard about how magnificent this place is. Only students from noble families are granted membership here. Now I finally get to see it for myself.” He took a deep breath as he stepped in. The marble floors were so clean they looked like mirrors. Giant chandeliers hung from the ceiling, filling the room with warm light. The air smelled rich, like perfume and fresh flowers mixed together. Unlike the small roadside spot with plastic chairs and cheap meals that John was used to, this place felt a hundred times different. In a good way. But before he could even step fully inside, the security guard at the door stared at him. The man’s eyes were narrow and cold. His hand moved close to the taser gun on his belt. He watched John closely, ready to throw him out if he made one wrong move. To the guard, John looked like a thief or a homeless man who had wandered into the wrong place. His clothes were too plain. His shoes were too worn. John ignored the guard’s expression and walked deeper into the lobby. He headed straight for the reception desk. Then he saw them. Selene. “Oh honey, you are so funny.” Her laugh was sharp, like broken glass hitting the floor. She leaned against Blake, her hand wrapped tight around his arm. Blake stood tall with a smug grin on his face. He pulled out his regular membership card and flashed it at the receptionist, proud. “Dinner for two, and make it quick!” Blake said. Selene’s eyes landed on John. Her smile slowly turned into a mean smirk. “John Valerio? How are you able to walk again after the beating you received?” She asked, surprised. But John didn't answer. “And how did you even sneak in here? Did the guards let you in?” She furrowed her brows feeling baffled. Blake chuckled, loud enough for the guests nearby to turn and stare. “Unbelievable! This place isn’t for broke students like you. What made you think you belong here? You always chase things that are way out of your league, don’t you?” John didn’t answer their insults. He kept walking until he reached the counter. He looked the receptionist in the eye. “I want your top VIP membership package.” The receptionist blinked. Then she frowned, like she had just heard a bad joke. “Sir, MOON PLAZA Hotel is not for ordinary people. Please leave before you embarrass yourself.” Selene burst out laughing again. She pointed at John. “Top membership? Are you trying to impress me by causing a scene?” Blake stepped closer, still smirking. “You think buying a card will make her run back to you? That’s pathetic.” John didn’t even glance at them. He pulled out his black card and set it on the counter. “Swipe my card.” The receptionist let out a long, annoyed sigh. “Sir, our lowest membership package is one million. The highest is one hundred million. Are you sure you can go that high?” “Yes,” John said calmly. “I want your highest membership package.” The receptionist took the card slowly. She looked at John for a moment, studying his face, then swiped it through the machine. The machine beeped. A red light flashed. Transaction failed. John gasped. His heart dropped. He was completely shocked and confused. “But… that’s not possible.” Selene laughed so hard she nearly fell over. She held her stomach. “Oh my God, John! Did you forget to check your balance? You should have looked more carefully. You would have seen the negative sign. But anyway, thanks for the comedy show.” Blake grabbed her hand and tugged her toward the dining hall. “Come on, babe. Let’s go eat. Leave him to his fantasies.” They walked away, still laughing. Their voices faded as they disappeared into the other side of the restaurant. “Sir, I suggest you leave now before security drags you out,” the receptionist said, her voice full of disgust. John stood still. He stared at the machine, then back at the receptionist. His voice was calm, but firm. “The card has money. I think your machine is faulty. Try again.” The bartender nearby leaned over the counter. He lowered his voice, trying to be helpful. “Sir, there are only two reasons this happens. One, the machine can’t process a payment this large. Or two… your card is fake.” John’s jaw tightened. His hands curled into fists at his sides. “It’s not fake.” The receptionist shrugged, not caring at all. “Either way, you’re wasting our time.” John’s voice got harder and colder. “Call the manager.” The receptionist blinked, surprised. “The manager?” “Yes,” John nodded calmly.“Call her now.” “Oh, you don’t want to do that,” the receptionist said, folding her arms. “She’s too busy for small problems like this. If you waste her time, you won’t live to regret it.” John leaned forward, his eyes locked on hers. “I’ll take my chances.” The receptionist raised her brows, almost amused by his nerve. She hesitated for a second, then picked up the phone. Her voice dropped with respect as she spoke. “Miss Martha… please we have a situation down here, concerning payment.”Latest Chapter

The keeper opened its mouth and shot out a beam of hot red fire. The beam came fast towards John.John put his hands in front of him."Shadow Shield!"A small black shield made of shadows formed in front of him. It was not a full dome, just a shield in front, like a wall. The fire hit the shield. The shield shook. John was pushed back, his feet sliding on the floor. The shield had cracks.John thought in his mind, "His fire is hot. My shield is incomplete, it can't block all of it. If I make a full dome I will use too much energy too fast. I need to save power."He gritted his teeth and pushed. Then the keeper stopped its fire and charged. It ran towards John with its big body, trying to crush him with its shoulder.John grinned again."Shadow Spread!"He slammed his palm on the floor. Black shadows spread on the floor like ink in water. The whole floor around the keeper became black and sticky. The keeper's feet stepped into the shadow spread and suddenly its movement became slow, l
The Hidden Secret
A loud roar was heard outside, from inside the mansion. The roar was so loud that birds flew away from the trees around the mansion. The ground shook a little.Blake and Mr. Kane heard the roar from where they were standing near the pick up truck. They laughed hard.Blake said, "Hahaha! Did you hear that? The beast woke up! Those two idiots are dead now!"Mr. Kane also laughed, wiping dust from his coat. "Yes! That is what happens when you mess with Victor Kane. Let the dungeon keeper eat them. No one will ever find their bodies. The dungeon will eat all the evidence."Inside the mansion, the living room was now full of smoke. The dungeon hole in the floor was glowing bright purple and it was spinning faster. From inside the hole, something big was climbing out.Perry was behind John. He was scared, his whole body was shaking, looking at a horrifying creature. It was tall like a house. Its body was made of black rocks and dark crystal. Its arms were long and thick, with sharp claws m
Weird Feeling
The four of them headed into the mansion. The big doors of the mansion were open. Inside it was dark and dusty. The floor was cracked. Spider webs were everywhere. It looked like no one had lived there for a long time.Gwen decided to remain outside. She stayed hidden at the back of the pick up truck, still under the tarp. Her legs were shaking. She was scared of the big mansion and the strange purple light she could see from the gate."I will stay here and keep recording," she whispered to herself. "I am too scared to go inside."They went inside. Inside, John could feel the presence of a strong force. It came from deep inside the house, from the living room area. The air felt heavy and cold. It was like the air was vibrating.Perry felt it too.He paused in the middle of the hallway. His shadow disciple power was reacting. His hand felt warm."John," Perry whispered, stopping John by holding his arm. "Do you feel that? Do you feel that strong energy? It's pulling me."John said, "Ye
New Dungeon
Back at the warehouse, John heard Kane's answer and shook his head."You don't need to lie," John said, his voice calm but strong. "I know you stole money from the school's accounts. I know you took thirty thousand dollars from the finance records."Mr. Kane's smile froze. He was shocked. His eyes opened wide."What? How did you know that?" Mr. Kane asked, his voice suddenly sharp. "Who told you that?"Blake also looked shocked and looked at Kane.John said, "I have my ways. Just like you have your ways."Mr. Kane was quiet for two seconds, then he started laughing again, but this laugh was nervous."So what? What if I did? What would John do? Tell on me? No one will believe John. You are just a common student. I was vice principal here for years. The board trusts me more than you."John shrugged and said, "Yep. No one will believe me. That's why I won't say anything. Besides, I am here for the peace party. I am not here to fight."In John's mind he was laughing hard. “You just confir
Admitting His Crimes
In the school, at the same time, something strange was happening in the dorms.A girl in the girls' hostel was scrolling through Flux Tube. She saw Gwen was live. Gwen was known as the beauty queen of Flux Tech. She always did beauty and seductive shows, dancing and make up tutorials. The girl shouted to her roommates."Hey! People! The beauty queen is live streaming! Gwen is live!"Her roommates ran over. They turned to Gwen's channel to watch her beauty show. But instead of her beauty and seductive show, they saw a view of three guys discussing in an abandoned warehouse. When they looked closely, it was John, Perry and Blake. The girls were confused."What is this? This is not makeup. This is a warehouse.""Is that John? The dumped guy? And Perry? And Blake? What are they doing together?"They decided to listen to the conversation. One girl noticed something."Wait, look at the corner of the screen, it is shaking a little. Warehouse Meeting
Perry said, "What? Why? Why should we go if it is a trap? He might have fire again!"John said, "Because it's time to expose Blake once and for all. If we keep hiding, he will keep bullying other students and stealing money. If we go there, we can catch him doing bad things and show everyone who he really is."Perry asked, "What do you have in mind? How do we expose him?"John said, "I will call Gwen, to live stream this event on her Flux Tube social account live because it has a great number of followers. Everyone in school follows Gwen. If she streams it live, the whole school will see what Blake does. Hopefully his boss is there with him. I really want to know who is backing him."Perry said, "But it's dangerous, John. What if Blake has more fire? What if he has help?"John smiled and put a hand on Perry's shoulder."You defeated Blake yesterday, didn't you? It's time to do it again. And this time, I will be there with you."Perry thought for a second, then he started feeling con
