“What is he talking about?” Dan had a scared look as he stared at the unfamiliar man.

“He is the chairman of Arizona group,” August said with a straight face while watching the man intently, as if he already knew why their prizes would be forfeited.

“The jerk cheated to win. Now he wants to take a prize. How ridiculous!” The man August hated most said from the other side of the room as he darted his gaze to find Allen and his girlfriend, both of them sitting together at the high table, close to where Dave was occupying earlier.

“What? No…we…” Dan made to say but was lost for words. He wasn’t sure how August had manipulated everything.

“August….” Dan quickly held his hand. “Say something. They are going to make us forfeit what we worked hard for…” Dan said almost in a whisper while August just watched Allen calmly, as if the whole thing doesn’t move him.

“According to the tech experts, someone had tampered with internet connections,” Dave continued as August slowly turned his attention back to him.

“Which we are working to find out…” Dave had his eyes on August as if he had already known he was the culprit.

“So therefore, Mr. Dan won’t be getting anything except for the $100,000 prize for his hard work. But then I would like to propose something different…” He said and paused while staring intently at August.

“If Mr. August here will come to work for Arizona Group, then we would be happy to accept him.” Dave said.

“What?” Dan couldn’t believe his ears, but August didn’t show any sign of reaction.

“What?! No!” Allen quickly rushed to the podium. “You can’t do that brother. This jerk can’t work in my company!” Allen fumed as he stared angrily at August, who was calm throughout the whole banter.

“Shut it, Allen. And go sit down.” Dave said sternly as he eyed his junior brother whose hand formed in a fist.

“I will ruin you if you dare step your feet in Arizona group.” Allen glared at August, who just stared at him lazily with his hands in his pocket as if his threat was just a passing statement.

“Ignore him.” August didn’t realize when Dave walked up to him. The 33 years old self-made CEO spoke to him calmly as if to cover up for his junior brother’s rude attitude.

“Come work for me, Mr. August.” Dave continued. “Name your price. I will pay you exactly that amount monthly.”

August stared at him for what seemed like forever, and the young CEO was starting to look like he was becoming impatient.

“I am the culprit.” August said all of a sudden as Dan gasped at his daring attitude.

“I made Dan win.” August said with a cocky smile. “Will you still allow such a shrewd person into your company?” He added with a cocky grin.

Dave returned the smile. “And what makes you think I haven’t figured it out yet. That you played dirty, Mr. August.”

August's smile started to disappear slowly.

“Oh well. That’s the thing. That’s what I love about you. Your shrewdness. You see, in the space of two lunges, I got every piece of information about you. You graduated at the top of your class in the business school. You once dreamed of working in Arizona group as a department manager for sales.” Dave paused to study his reaction.

“No?” He asked as August chuckled. “You’re right.” He replied with a drawl.

“I badly want to get into your Arizona Group, Mr. CEO.” He said.

“But as the new chairman.” August added with a sheepish grin which he knew would get on Dave’s nerves.

“What?” Dave was taken aback by his daring request.

August nodded. “You heard me. I want your position if I am to work in Arizona Group. Deal or no deal?” August asked, a mocking smile on his lips as Dan nudged at him.

“What the hell are you thinking?!” He whispered.

“I told you I wanted to own a company, Dan. If he wants to stop me from making mine, he will have to drop his for me.” August feigned a pout while staring at Dave who was now red with rage.

August was playing with him. He had already realized and his reputation was terribly tarnished. It would be hard forgetting a person like August. Ever.

“You will crawl back to me, begging. And then, I will be waiting for you, Mr. August.” Dave said with a smile and adjusted his suit. Immediately, he turned around and left as August laughed out loud. His voice resounding across the podium as he watched Dave leave.

“Are you crazy?! Why the hell did you reject such a beautiful offer?!” Dan asked after they left the hall with their prizes. They were now walking on the streets, and Dan couldn’t understand why August had a wide grin on his face, as if he had won a lottery.

“Did you see his face, Dan? It was so funny!” August stopped walking and started laughing his ass out while Dan watched him, all frustrated.

“You are a lunatic.” Dan cried out.

“Don’t be a killjoy, Dan. You don’t expect me to go work for those losers.” August said with a serious face this time. “And besides, I have a trillion dollars to make. Imagine the look on his face when I create a company that is worth more than his, Dan.” August said enthusiastically.

“Haven't you snapped out of your dream yet?” Dan asked, now irritated and started to walk, as August followed after him.

Ding! Ding!

[Mission accomplished. Your reward is a million dollars. Your new balance is $1,010,000]

Ding!

His phone dinged a notification for a credit alert. A million dollars!

“Dan! We got it!” August cried out and laughed at the same time.

“This is getting fun, Dan!” He laughed happily as Dan looked at his phone to see the credit alert.

“Oh my God, August. You have got a million dollars!” He screamed in happiness.

“I told you. I am going to make a trillion dollars, Dan.” He said proudly.

“You’re incredible.” Dan said while staring at him dreamily.

“You shouldn’t underestimate, Dan.” August flipped a strand of his hair with a cocky aura as Dan clapped for him.

[Ding! Ding! You’ve got a new mission. Create a game that will top the monthly chart, thereby surpassing Arizona gaming.]

The system dinged as August stared at the details of the mission.

[The reward for accomplishing this mission is $5 million]

“Woaw!” August exclaimed as the panel disappeared almost immediately.

“Seems we will be relating with Arizona group more than we expect, Danny boy.” August announced.

“We’ve got a new mission. We are going to make Arizona Games, a subsidiary to Arizona Group go under.” He winked at Dan who didn’t understand the whole thing yet as he watched.

“What?

“The mission is to create a game that would top the monthly and surpass Arizona gaming.”

“What?” Dan had a quizzical look.

“How about you create the game, Dan?” August immediately suggested as he placed his hand on his shoulder.

“How could you say something so casually?” Dan shrugged his hand off his shoulders.

“Do you know the creators of Arizona games? They have the best creators in the whole world! I am not a match for them!” Dan berated, desperate to make August understood, which seemed like a futile mission.

“Oh…really?” August pretended he was on the same page with Dan. “Okay. But we will still beat them.” He said with a cocky smile as Dan palm slapped his face.

“This is not like the competition where you can pull tricks, August. This is different. This is on a whole new level.”

“The reward is $5 million.”

“Jeez!” Dan gasped.

August nodded casually. “That’s why it’s no regular task. And I am not going to back down on a task that would make me beat the Arizona Group.” August started to walk away as Dan ran after him.

“So what’s the plan? We can’t definitely lose that money.” Dan said desperately as August spared him a glance and chuckled. “Look who is desperate now.” He smiled.

“Be serious, August. You always have some tricks up your sleeves.” Dan said, completely trusting him.

August bade a cab as they both entered.

“Trillion dollar Gaming.” He said with they were now seated as he spared Dan a look. “We will create our first company which will be named Trillion dollar gaming in order to compete with Arizona Gaming for the top chart.” August explained as Dan stared at him in a daze for a while.

“You weren’t joking when you said you would start your own company.”

August shook his head with a smile and glanced out of the car mirror.

“Trillion dollar gaming.” He murmured to himself, loving the sound of it.

They weren't in the same league, but if she caused a scene with this secretary here, what would the trillion-dollar company think of her?She pressed her lips together for a while, trying to suppress the growing anger within her.“I am not trying to teach you anything, Miss. I only want a chance to meet the chairman,” Aliya managed to muster in a calm tone.“And I am telling you right now that there is no room for you, Miss. Please leave, or I will have security drag you out,” she hissed impatiently and shifted her attention to the system in front of her.Aliya wasn’t sure how to behave afterward. “I can’t believe you agreed to it just like that, Grandfather.” Simon walked into Pa West’s study room later that evening to vent. Even though he had looked calm when everything was concluded earlier, deep down he was pissed.“Don’t be such a fool. Didn’t you realize the stunt that loser was trying to pull? He is trying to delay the vote to take down his wife.” Pa West took a gulp of his liquor while seated on the luxurious leather seat in the room. He relaxed backward and gave a satisfied groan as the liquid went down his throat.“If we had dismissed his suggestion like that, the shareholders might start to think we only want to remove Aliya due to personal reasons. These people don’t give a fuck about sentiments. All they care about is profits. And Allen, that weird pauper, knew that and played his card well.” He placed his hand on his chin, a thoughtful look on his face. “I wonder how he got the idea to bring in the trillion-dollar company into this. He talks about the company like

“The both of you could compete for who could bag the contract with the trillion-dollar company,” August suggested with a confident look. “I am sure the owners won’t mind if they see that the West Corporation is enthusiastic to work with them.”“Don’t be ridiculous,” Simon chuckled as he tried to wave off the suggestion. “They would think the company is divided if my sister and I submit different proposals to them for the same company.”“And who said you would be the next chairman if it isn’t Aliya? What do you take me for?” Landon immediately cut in as Simon shifted his gaze slowly to meet his enraged brother.“Shut up and stop embarrassing yourself, Landon.” Pa West seemed to be pissed too as a deep frown formed on his face.Landon gritted his teeth as he tried to hold himself from speaking again. But he knew better. His grandfather, who was his only backer, was solidly behind Simon. It felt like all he had been working hard for was a waste. He had been fighting Aliya all this while

“This is why I keep talking about the importance of marrying people with brains. How could you just suggest something like that?” Landon spoke up, immediately seizing the opportunity to humiliate August again while August maintained his calm and composed look.He stared straight ahead without sparing Landon a look. He knew Landon was dying to see him crumble. Too bad he was done being a punching bag to them. This would be the beginning of their sorrows.“You always end up saying nonsense whenever you open that mouth of yours. What the hell do you know about business, huh?” Pa West asked.“Do you truly care about my sister? Do you actually want her to lose her position deep down?” Simon asked with a cocky grin. As always, he was the only one who made a point.Normally, they were supposed to just agree to it and watch Aliya fail because bagging a deal with a trillion-dollar company is like an ant trying to move a mountain. Simon noticed how Aliya entwined her fingers together. He could already see how tense she was, and he would definitely use that to his advantage. He was always like this—watching with sharp eyes like an eagle and pouncing on his prey when they let their guard slightly down.“Are you tense, sister? If you’re uncomfortable about the whole arrangement and would prefer not to go through with it, you can just step down willingly. Everyone would understand that you’ve grown wary over the years and would like to focus on your family now,” Simon said with a cool gaze, making a face as if he was truly looking out for her.“Don’t be ridiculous, brother. Just because I am a married woman doesn’t make my career hopeless. Forget about stepping down—I dare you to say you are capable of handling West Corporation half as well as I have,” Aliya said in a cocky tone, causing Simon to clench his fist, which was placed on the table. It wasn’t always easy to get her brother to lose his composure, but when

How could he possibly help her?“You will see how I will make everything easy for you.” August sat up, brushed away the hair covering her face, and placed a peck on her forehead. Aliya watched him, unsure how to react. She pressed her lips and watched him in silence as he lay back. “Could you get me an apple, please?” he asked politely.Aliya, who was deep in thought, shook her head as she came back to reality. She flashed him a smile and nodded. “Sure,” she said and started to walk out of the room.“Babe,” he called when she grabbed the doorknob and was about to open the door. “Make sure to take your time,” he said with a calm smile.Aliya gave him a half-suspicious look before nodding.Immediately after she left, August located his phone by the bed stand and dialed Lila.“That was quick,” she commented the mome
