Infinite Opulent System Awakening...

BOOM!

A blinding explosion of golden light ruptured through the darkness of his mind. Brilliant, shimmering strands of ethereal code spun through his spatial awareness, cascading into rows of burning text before his eyes.

Congratulations.

You have been selected as the sole host of the Infinite Opulent System.

Initial Asset Granted.

Capital Balance: UNLIMITED / CLASSIFIED — Sufficient to purchase Earth's aggregate wealth hundreds of times over

Michael’s spiritual pupils violently contracted within the void.

The mechanical, divine voice resounded once more, vibrating through his very soul.

First Passive Ability Unlocked: Aqua Regeneration.

Ability Overview: By consuming or coming into direct contact with water (H2O), the host can rapidly regenerate cell tissue and heal physical trauma. Regeneration speed scales with the volume and purity of water available.

WARNING - RULE ONE: The existence of the Infinite Opulent System must NEVER be revealed to any external entity under any circumstances.

Violation will result in immediate, permanent termination of the host.

The floating gold notifications shattered into millions of glowing particles, dissolving directly into his bloodstream.

In the middle of the blood-soaked mess hall, under the harsh buzzing fluorescent lights...

Michael Roy slowly opened his eyes.

Deep within his blood-splattered pupils, a cold, terrifying golden light flared to life.

Michael slowly opened his eyes.

The agonizing, suffocating pain in his chest... was entirely gone.

He blinked, clearing his vision. The dizzying fog of blood loss and shock that had brought him to the brink of death had dissolved like mist under a summer sun.

He looked down at his chest. His faded orange jumpsuit was ripped to shreds and drenched in thick, crimson blood, but the deep lacerations beneath the fabric had vanished.

The shattered ribs that had stabbed into his lungs with every desperate breath... felt completely solid.

He slowly clenched his right fist. A raw, unadulterated surge of physical power coursed through his knuckles, snapping into place with effortless grace. It felt as though he hadn't just survived a brutal mobbing—it felt as though he had never been touched at all.

"What in the hell...?" he breathed softly.

A semi-transparent, neon-blue holographic interface flared into existence directly in his line of sight, floating silently above the blood-stained linoleum floor.

Aqua Regeneration Cycle Complete.

Host Physical Status: 100% (Optimal Condition

System Note: Internal fluid levels consumed during cellular reconstruction. Replenish hydration at the earliest opportunity.

Michael stared at the translucent text hovering in mid-air.

"So..." he whispered, his voice steadying. "It wasn't an hallucination."

His eyes shifted slightly to the top right corner of the HUD, where a small icon flickered alongside a balance display. The digit string was so absurdly long that the interface simply cut it off with an infinity symbol before classifying it under a single tab: UNLIMITED.

A dark, humorless smile curled the corner of his lips.

"Twenty-four hours ago..." Michael thought, staring at his bloodied knuckles, "I didn't have enough money in my commissary account to buy a stick of deodorant or a cup of instant ramen."

"And right now... I could buy the entire state penitentiary and turn it into a parking lot."

The cold, precise voice resounded once more inside his mind, echoing with a quiet, terrifying authority.

Welcome, Host.

The Infinite Opulent System exists with a singular directive: To elevate you to the absolute pinnacle of global wealth, power, and influence.

Reminder: The existence of this interface must NEVER be disclosed to any living soul.

Any breach of secrecy will result in immediate life-force termination.

Michael gave a single, slow nod. "Understood."

With a soft flick of his wrist, the holographic display dissolved into air.

The muffled soundscape of the Clinton Correctional mess hall slammed back into his ears like a wave—the low hum of fluorescent lights, the distant drip of the industrial dishwashers, and the collective gasp of two hundred hardened criminals.

The inmates who had just stomped him into the floor stood completely paralyzed in horror.

"N-No way..." one of Trench's lackeys stammered, his jaw dropping so low it looked unhinged. "He... he was coughing up blood! His ribs were caved in!"

"How the hell is he standing?!" another yelled, backing away until his heels hit a bench.

Trench himself, clutching his fractured side, took two involuntary, trembling steps backward, his face drained of all color. He looked at Michael as if staring at a phantom rising from an open grave.

Michael looked back at them.

There was no rage in his eyes. No screaming fury. No frantic need for immediate payback.

There was only a cold, terrifying indifference—the look of an executive gazing down at an ant on his desk.

"You should be profoundly grateful," Michael said, his voice quiet, carrying through the dead silence of the hall.

Trench swallowed hard, unable to find his voice. "G-Grateful for what?"

"My release papers are signed for eight o'clock tomorrow morning," Michael said, taking a slow step forward. "If I wasn't walking out those gates in twelve hours... I would have made sure every single one of you spent the rest of your natural-born lives regretting you ever drew breath in this room."

Not a single man moved. Nobody dared to breathe. The raw, aura of authority radiating off Michael was suffocating.

He turned his back on them without another word, stepping over the puddle of his own blood, and walked casually toward the exit.

Right on cue, the heavy steel doors burst open. Six correctional officers poured into the mess hall with batons raised, led by Captain Vance.

"Freeze! Nobody move!" the lead CO barked, scanning the wrecked tables.

Trench immediately pointed a shaking finger toward Michael's back. "Captain! He attacked us! Look at the mess—he's crazy!"

Captain Vance didn't even look at Trench. He raised a hand, stopping his officers, and focused his eyes entirely on Michael.

"Enough," Vance said gruffly. He took a step closer, studying the blood-soaked jumpsuit, then looking up at Michael’s completely unblemished face. A flicker of sheer bewilderment flashed across the Captain's eyes before he masked it with routine military discipline.

"Roy," Vance grunted, tapping his clipboard. "Administration bumped your processing up. Your paperwork just cleared early. You're out."

Michael nodded calmly. "Lead the way, Captain."

Without looking back at C-Block, Michael followed the officers down the long, narrow concrete catwalks one last time.

Every step echoed off the corrugated steel walls.

The same damp, miserable corridors that had watched his arrival as a broken, falsely accused man...

The same iron bars that had threatened to swallow his entire life...

He was leaving them behind. Forever.

Ten minutes later, he stood in the intake processing office.

A booking clerk shoved a small gray plastic tub across the scarred laminate counter.

"Inmate property. Sign the ledger."

Inside the tub were the remains of his former life: a scuffed leather wallet containing three maxed-out credit cards, a cracked iPhone with a dead battery, an old wrist watch with a leather band, and the worn silver ring strung on a length of bootlace.

Michael picked up the ring, feeling the familiar cool weight of the silver, and looped it securely around his neck beneath his collar. It was the only artifact that had survived his journey through hell.

He picked up the pen and signed his name on the release form.

For the first time in six agonizing months, he didn't write Inmate #A-41782.

He wrote Michael J. Roy.

"Step through," the guard grunted, hitting a green button on the wall.

With a heavy, mechanical hum, the final three-inch-thick steel security gate unlocked and slid open.

CLANG.

A wave of crisp, freezing cold Adirondack mountain air hit Michael's face. Morning sunlight poured through the threshold, blindingly bright, reflecting off the fresh snow lining the highway outside.

Michael instinctively raised his forearm to shield his eyes, breathing in deep. The scent of pine, wet asphalt, and pure, unconfined freedom filled his lungs.

He took one slow, deliberate step out onto the slushy concrete driveway. Then another.

Stopping just beyond the shadow of the razor-wire perimeter fence, Michael stopped and turned around. He looked up at the stone towers and gray concrete monolith of Clinton Correctional—the place that had tried to bury him alive.

His expression hardened into pure, unyielding granite. A terrifying, cold resolve burned in his chest.

"I lost my freedom," he spoke softly, his voice cutting through the quiet whistle of the winter wind. "I lost my name. I lost every single thing I spent ten years building."

His hands slowly clenched into tight fists at his sides.

"But starting right now... the debt gets collected."

He turned back toward the long, open highway stretching toward the New York skyline in the distance.

"And every single person who put me in that cell..." Michael whispered, his eyes flashing with a dangerous golden glint, "...is going to learn what real hell feels like."

Without looking back, Michael Roy walked down the mountain road, completely oblivious to the fact that the global financial order was about to be reshaped by a man with infinite power.

The heavy oak doors of the private dining room clicked shut behind them, muffling the low murmur of the restaurant floor. Sarah smoothed the front of her coat, still shaking her head in disbelief as they stepped toward the lobby."Honestly, Michael, that dessert alone was pure art," she said, her voice bright with genuine wonder. "I don’t think I’ve ever tasted anything quite that rich."Michael offered an easy grin, though his eyes remained observant, scanning the corridor. "Really? To be frank, I thought the sauce was a little flat. It lacked balance."Sarah stopped in her tracks, giving him a look that hovered between amusement and maternal skepticism. "Flat? Michael, it’s the most expensive meal I’ve had in my entire life. If that was flat, I’d hate to see what you actually consider good.""Then next time," Michael chuckled, gently steering her toward the exit, "I’ll find a place that really sets the bar.""You will do no such thing," Sarah chided, though the warmth in her eyes be
