Nobody looked happy.

"No."

Mrs. Park looked confused.

The report showed exactly what they already knew.

Ethan came from an ordinary family.

He had no criminal record.

No major assets.

No famous connections.

Everything appeared normal.

Too normal.

Grandpa Park narrowed his eyes.

"The hotel chairman treated him like royalty."

"Then how is there no information?"

Nobody had an answer.

Sophia sat quietly in the corner.

For some reason, she felt relieved.

Ethan walked in carrying a tray of tea.

"Good morning."

Everyone turned toward him.

"Did I interrupt something?"

Kevin forced a smile.

"No."

Ethan placed the tea on the table.

"Great."

Then he started leaving.

"Wait."

Grandpa Park's voice stopped him.

Ethan turned around.

"Yes?"

The old man studied him carefully.

For the first time, he wasn't looking at Ethan with contempt.

Instead, he was looking at him like a puzzle.

"How do you know Chairman Han?"

Ethan smiled.

"Oh, him."

The entire room leaned forward.

"We met once."

"When?"

"A while ago."

"Where?"

Ethan scratched his head.

"I don't remember."

Kevin almost exploded.

"You don't remember?"

"I meet a lot of people."

The room fell silent.

Then Ethan laughed.

"I'm joking."

Nobody laughed with him.

After a few more useless answers, Grandpa Park waved him away.

"You can go."

"Okay."

Ethan happily left.

The moment the door closed, Kevin slammed his hand onto the desk.

"He's hiding something."

Grandpa Park nodded.

"I agree."

Meanwhile, Ethan walked into the garden.

The moment he was alone, his phone vibrated.

It was Victor.

"Young Master."

"What's wrong?"

"The Park Group received another invitation."

Ethan smiled.

"Already?"

"Yes."

"The investor works quickly."

Victor laughed.

Technically, Ethan was talking about himself.

The mysterious investor everyone admired was none other than Ethan Reed.

"What is the invitation?" Ethan asked.

Victor replied,

"The Park Group has been invited to bid for the Riverside Development Project."

Ethan's smile widened.

Now things were getting interesting.

The Riverside Development Project was worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Winning it would make the Park family even richer.

Losing it would be disastrous.

"Good," Ethan said.

"Let's see what they do."

That afternoon, the Park family received the official documents.

Excitement immediately returned.

"This project is huge!"

Kevin practically shouted.

"If we win, we'll double our company value."

Mrs. Park looked delighted.

"The mysterious investor must really trust us."

Grandpa Park nodded.

"We cannot fail."

Everyone spent the rest of the day preparing.

Everyone except Ethan.

He sat comfortably on the sofa eating snacks while watching television.

Kevin couldn't stand it.

"Don't you ever do anything useful?"

Ethan looked up.

"I'm watching a documentary."

"That's not useful."

"It is if I learn something."

Kevin rolled his eyes.

Sophia nearly laughed.

She quickly covered her mouth.

Ethan noticed.

"So you do know how to smile."

Sophia immediately looked away.

"I wasn't smiling."

For some reason, their playful argument made the room feel lighter.

Even Sophia couldn't hide a small smile.

Mrs. Park noticed and frowned.

She didn't like seeing them get closer.

That evening, Sophia found Ethan sitting alone on the balcony.

The city lights sparkled in the distance.

She hesitated before speaking.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

Sophia sat beside him.

"What happened at the gala?"

Ethan smiled.

"A lot of things."

"You know what I mean."

For a moment, neither spoke.

Then Sophia looked directly into his eyes.

"Who are you really?"

The question hung in the air.

Ethan looked at her quietly.

For the first time, he considered telling her the truth.

He wanted to.

But it wasn't time yet.

Instead, he smiled.

"I'm your husband."

Sophia sighed.

"That's not an answer."

"It's the most important answer."

She stared at him.

Then something unexpected happened.

Ethan gently placed a hand over hers.

"Trust me a little longer."

His voice was soft.

Serious.

Different.

Sophia's heart skipped a beat.

Before she could respond, Ethan stood up and walked away.

Leaving her alone with her thoughts.

Far across the city, inside a luxurious office tower, Victor stood before a large window.

His phone rang.

"Yes, Young Master?"

"Everything is ready?"

"Yes."

Victor smiled.

"The Riverside Project is prepared."

"Excellent."

"And the Park family?"

"They believe they're getting closer to the investor."

Ethan chuckled.

"They're wrong."

Victor's smile widened.

Because he knew the truth.

The Park family wasn't getting closer to the mysterious investor.

They were getting closer to discovering the identity of the son-in-law they had spent three years humiliating.
