Everyone was shocked to say a word.

“You mean you know this young man?” Kyle asked at last.

If truly someone like Gilbert knows Noah, then Aria could have been telling the truth about him being the heir.

“I may be old but I don't have bad eyes,” Gilbert responded.

Kyle tried to laugh while everyone still stared, unable to say a word. Even Aria was shocked. She never expected that one of the lies could be real. Noah was supposed to be very poor because that was what he was when they were still in school.

“Well then, if you don't mind. It has been a while since I've seen him. I will need to steal him for a moment, if you don't mind.”

Kyle laughed again. “No, Mr Gilbert, we don't mind. Noah is my daughter's boyfriend. So we can always meet some other time,” he gave his permission instantly.

Gilbert smiled at this and looked at Noah again, who was too shocked to move or say a word.

“Follow me please,” Gilbert said softly. It almost sounded like he was begging, begging the young master to follow him but there was also a hint of excitement in his voice.

Noah glanced at Aria before he followed him out of the room.

The room exploded immediately he stepped out.

“So, Aria was right?”

“He's really an heir?”

Different comments started to pour in but even Aria was too shocked to reply.

Noah followed them to the parking lot. Gilbert moved to a black Mercedes-Benz, a car that cost over 135 million dollars. Noah knew so much about cars. This particular car was very expensive. This means the man was fully loaded. Then, he wasn’t lying about what he said earlier.

Gilbert got inside the car first but Mike was suddenly holding the door for Noah to enter, his head slightly bent in respect.

Noah was still confused. What was going on?

“I can never be mistaken! It's really you.” Gilbert said the moment the door closed against them, excitement coursed through him.

“I don't understand. Who are you?”

“Alaric’s spade, do you have it?” He asked and when he saw Noah's expression, he smiled. “You must have seen the card because that was what alerted me about your whereabouts.”

Noah instantly remembered the card he saw in the game console. He took it out of his pocket and stretched it out.

“You mean this?”

“Alaric Spade!” Gilbert muttered, then looked up, a smile suddenly tucking at the side of his face. “You look so much like your father. I thought I was dreaming.”

“You know my father?”

Gilbert nodded. “Yes. In fact, I'm not a friend of your father. Your father was my boss. He's the world's number one mafia Lord in Casington.”

What!

“And you, you are the lost son of his, Noah Cedric!”

What! No way! His mind was reeling. He was truly Noah Cedric, the man he was supposed to impersonate?

Shock kept Noah motionless and speechless for a while. Different thoughts were curling in his mind in some sort of crazy confusion.

Then, suddenly he had a flash. A young boy was holding onto a game console as if his life depended on it. Then, a soft voice beckoned him over.

Noah was suddenly back in the car. He looked up at Gilbert again. “You mean I am really an heir of a prominent family in the capital?”

Gilbert nodded quickly. “Yes, I have a lot to tell you but now is not the place. I don't know if you won't mind coming with me to the party. There's someone you need to meet. She will give you the full explanation you need.”

Noah nodded quickly.

A few minutes later, they pulled into the Olive and Dine parking lot.

Wait what!

Gilbert was so happy seeing Noah, that a nice smile was plastered on his face as he led Noah inside.

Just as Noah had thought, the place was swarming with bigwigs. Who would have thought he would be able to attend such an important occasion?

“Please, spare me a few minutes,” Gilbert said suddenly. “ Let me get the person for you. She will be so happy to see you.”

Gilbert quickly hurried away and soon disappeared into the crowd.

Noah's gaze searched around. He wondered who Gilbert was going to bring over. In all his life, he had never thought he could be important. But he was not important alone, he was the heir of a known mafia Lord. Noah was still in shock.

How could he be Cedric?

“Noah? What are you doing here?” A familiar voice said suddenly, interrupting his thoughts. It was Violet, one of the hotel waitresses.

Noah looked at her. She was in her uniform, apparently, she was serving at the moment.

They have always looked down on him anyway, especially because they easily got tips and access to VIP people more than him.

“Seriously? It's really him,” Sandra said, suddenly standing beside Violet.

“How dare you come here? We all know you have been fired. What are you still doing in this hall?”

“He's not supposed to come here and he's not even wearing his uniform,” Sandra laughed. “He must be here to beg for money. Since he has been fired, I doubt he has a place to stay. And he also has to feed.”

They all laughed.

“How did you even enter without an invite?”

“He must have sneaked in. It's something he can do.”

Noah smiled. “Well, for your information, I didn't. I was let in by someone of high importance which means my position here is higher than yours.”

The girls looked at each other in one instance and suddenly burst into laughter.

“Leave now!” It was Violet who sobered up first. “Or I will call the security on you. And mind you, if I do, you will be arrested for intending to come here to steal from these bigwigs.”

Noah laughed. These people were used to looking down on him. Even before the whole issue with Chloe happened, they had abused him so that he wasn't worthy of her. Most times, they break assets in the suites and lie against Noah.

The manager never believed him and he was always made to pay for the damages with his salary.

“I'm not leaving unless you all want to offend the bigwig who let me in.”

They laughed again.

“That's it! Security!” Violet yelled.

Soon, two security men hurried forward.

“Get him out! And have him reported to the manager!”

The security men moved closer to Noah to bundle him out. Noah didn't want to fight them now because it was going to ruin someone's party.

However, it was at that moment that Gilbert saw them from afar. Hot anger surged through him at the unpleasant sight in front of him.

He hurried closer

“What do you all think you are doing?” He boomed angrily.

Victoria didn’t just fall; she collapsed, as if something inside her had finally snapped under the weight of years. Her knees hit the floor first, then her hands, trembling, barely holding her up. Tears streamed down her face in uneven lines, her breathing jagged.“I didn’t mean it…” she whispered, voice breaking apart. “That wasn’t my intention, I swear it wasn’t…”Noah stood over her, unmoved at first. His jaw tightened, his eyes dark with something sharper than anger, more like betrayal, confusion, and disbelief, all tangled together.“Then what was your intention?” he shot back, his voice cutting through her sobs. “To kill him? To destroy everything? Because that’s exactly what you did.”Victoria flinched as the words struck her physically. Her shoulders shook harder.“Yes!” she cried out suddenly, her voice rising in a painful confession. “Yes, it’s my fault Anita died! I know that, I know!” She dragged in a breath that refused to steady. “But it wasn’t how it was supposed to hap

Zack didn’t even see it coming. The slap landed across his face with a sharp crack, snapping his head to the side and sending him stumbling backward. He barely caught himself before dropping but the second hit came faster.“Have you lost your mind?!” Victoria’s voice shook with raw fury.Zack’s vision blurred for a second as he steadied himself, one hand pressed to his cheek. “Victoria, I can explain.”“Explain?” she cut in, advancing on him. “Explain how Cedric suddenly knows where we are? Go on. I’m listening.”“I didn’t tell him…”Another slap. This time Zack hit the floor.William shot up immediately. “Mom, stop!”Victoria didn’t even glance at him. She stood over Zack, breathing hard, her anger barely contained. “You think I don’t know how this works? You think men like Cedric just wander around hoping to get lucky?”Zack pushed himself up slightly, wincing. “I didn’t give him this place. I swear. I was trying to throw him off..”“By leading him straight to us?” she snapped.“Tha

Morning traffic stretched thin across the road, the city only just beginning to wake. Jennifer’s car cut steadily through it, the low hum of the engine blending with the faint rush of wind outside.Inside, the atmosphere was far from calm.Mike sat behind the wheel, focused, both hands steady as he kept a measured distance behind the two black SUVs ahead. Their tinted windows gave nothing away, but everyone in the car knew exactly who was inside.Cedric’s men.Noah leaned back slightly in the rear seat, his gaze fixed past the windshield, sharp and unreadable. Beside him, Jennifer shifted, her arms folded as she glanced between the road and his face.“You’re very sure about this,” she said finally, breaking the silence.Noah didn’t look at her. “I am.”Jennifer studied him for a second longer. “Because right now, all we’re doing is following a lead that could either save them…” she paused slightly, “…or walk us straight into something worse.”Mike let out a quiet breath. “Wouldn’t be

As Kyle pushed his chair back slightly, already signaling the close of the discussion, her voice rose again, controlled, but insistent enough to pull him back.“Father,” she said, drawing his attention once more. “Whatever you decide, don't forget what’s at stake.” Mia reminded.Kyle’s eyes shifted to her slowly.“The dignity of the Giles family,” Mia continued, her tone tightening with each word, “is not something we can afford to gamble with. We don’t even know who took that picture or who sent it out. For all we know, more people have seen it already.”Adrian leaned in slightly, reinforcing her stance without interrupting her rhythm. “And once something like that spreads, it’s difficult to contain. Reputation damage isn’t always immediate, but it’s always costly.”Mia nodded. “Exactly. Which is why the fastest and cleanest solution is obvious.” She held Kyle’s gaze. “We remove the problem before it grows.”A pause. Then, more bluntly. “End things with Noah before he stains this fam

Morning came quietly over the Giles estate, sunlight spilling through the tall dining room windows in long, golden streaks. The table was already set with polished cutlery, crystal glasses, and plates arranged with the kind of precision that came from years of routine.Breakfast, as always, was elaborate.Fluffy buttermilk pancakes stacked high with maple syrup dripping down the sides. Crispy bacon and sausage links. Scrambled eggs folded with cheese and herbs. Golden hash browns. Freshly baked biscuits with butter and jam. A bowl of cut fruits which was strawberries, blueberries, melon, sat at the center, alongside a jug of orange juice and a silver pot of coffee still steaming.Their personal chef had outdone himself.Yet the atmosphere didn’t match the warmth of the meal.Kyle sat at the head of the table, his presence steady, commanding even in silence. Beside him, Cynthia maintained her usual composed posture, while Adam leaned back in his chair like he had nowhere better to be a

Amelia got home late, late enough that the house had already slipped into that quiet, settled stillness that comes after dinner has been cleared and conversations have died down. The faint scent of food still lingered in the air, but the dining area was empty, and the lights dimmed.Mia was curled up in the living room, half-watching something on TV. She glanced up as Amelia stepped in.“You’re back,” Mia said casually.Amelia forced a small smile. “Yeah. Long day.”She didn’t stop to say more. Her mind was too full, too loud. She headed straight for Aria’s room. She knocked lightly. No response.Amelia hesitated for a second, then pushed the door open anyway. The room was dim, only the bedside lamp casting a soft glow. The bathroom door clicked open just as she stepped in, and Aria walked out, a towel wrapped securely around her waist, damp hair clinging to her shoulders. She looked tired, but still composed.“Oh you’re back,” Aria said, a faint smile forming. “When did you get in?”
