Gilbert was a well-known man around Casington and a huge guest in Brookhaven. He was a doctor who could even access the president's office because of his skills. There were barely any ailments he couldn't cure.
The security stepped back slightly while the girls bowed.
“I'm sorry Mr Chase but this man is a thief. He was recently fired here for stealing a customer’s wallet,” Violet started. “So I got the security to bundle him out and have him reported to the manager.”
Noah wasn't even shocked at it. He was used to them lying against him, so it was no longer shocking for him.
“What!” At this point, Gilbert was truly enraged.
“I said I didn't sneak in but you are all here lying on me! I came in with someone of great importance.”
“Shut up!” Violet snapped.
Seeing Gilbert's expression, she thought he believed her words and was angry at Noah.
“Which fool will let a fool like you in?” She laughed slightly, then turned to Gilbert again. “Rest assured, Mr Chase. Everything will be taken care of,” she uttered and nodded to the security to do their jobs.
“How dare you!” Gilbert snapped. “I need your manager at this moment! Right now!”
Violet smiled slightly. She thought Gilbert was still angry because a nobody like Noah sneaked into the party.
“I'm sorry Mr Chase but I will get him instantly,” she said with an evil smile at Noah and stepped aside to call the manager.
Noah shook his head briefly. Now he saw the reason why the manager had always listened to Violet and more reasons why they both have each other's numbers.
The manager likes women so much that he would offer to do anything they like as long as they cooperate with him.
Between him and Oliver, he had no idea who liked women the most.
Soon enough, the manager stepped inside. He hurried to Gilbert and bowed his head slightly.
“I'm sorry sir for all this commotion, I will get the culprit out and I assure you he will be greatly punished and this kind of thing will never occur again.”
Violet had already given him wrong information and since he was sleeping with her, he was following her blindly.
“Oh, I see,” Gilbert smiled. “I see you already listened to one side of the story. And not how your waitress called me a fool.”
Violet jerked back, confused.
The manager looked at Violet. “You did?”
Violet shook her head quickly. “I didn't.”
Gilbert chuckled. “Oh, now you are calling me a liar?”
Violet felt a shiver descend on her at the sudden turn of events. “I will never, Mr Chase.”
“Well you did,” Noah said quickly. “When you said which fool let me in because _” he paused slightly. “Mr Chase here was the one who let me in.”
What! How!
Violet tried to laugh. “You must be daydreaming, why would Mr Chase_”
“And you just called me a fool again! Ce_Noah is my guest!” Gilbert muttered, shutting her up.
Violet shivered, her eyes going wide with shock. How did Noah get associated with Gilbert Chase?
Sensing what had really happened, even though he was also still shocked at how Noah could have been Gilbert's guest but he knew he needed to pacify him.
Gilbert was a well-known man and any mistake could cost them a lot. He was influential and knew a lot of people in the city. Getting on Gilbert's bad side might affect the company.
“I'm so sorry sir. This wasn't our intention!” He beseeched, then turned to Violet and Sandra. “Why are you still standing!” He yelled.
The girls went on their knees instantly.
“Please, Mr Chase, forgive our incompetence! Overlook our insight!” they chorused.
Gilbert sighed. “Well, I'm not the one you should be begging. You insulted my guest, beg him.”
Violet's eyes widened and she slowly shook her head.
How could she kneel and beg Noah? A nobody? But he was currently with Gilbert Chase, one of the most important men in Casington.
“And what are you still doing!” The manager yelled again.
He wasn't even helping matters and just yelling at Violet, something he has never done but he had to choose between the woman he's sleeping with and can dispose of anytime, and someone powerful enough to make him jobless.
How would he access more women without a job?
“Please Mr Noah, forgive us for our incompetence. Please think of our good old days,” The manager said softly.
Noah scoffed. “Good old days? OK, I will because of that.”
The manager smiled. “Thank you so much Mr…”
“_If they can slap themselves!” Noah said quickly, shutting the manager up. “That will be their punishment.”
The manager hesitated.
Gilbert smiled at the punishment. He was really Cedric, his father's son. “You heard that, then I wonder what you are all still waiting for.”
Violet proceeded to stand.
“On your knees!” Noah snapped. “You will slap yourselves while on your knees.”
Violet was the first to slap Sandra.
“Harder!” Noah muttered.
Then Violet hit Sandra so hard that she almost cried. The pain forced her to hit her even harder than Violet had hit her.
Gilbert smiled at this. “Good. They are all dismissed!”
Violet and Sandra hurried out of the hall, with tears in their eyes.
The manager however turned to Gilbert again. “Thank you so much for your mercy.”
Noah felt good instantly. The slap had covered everything they had always done to him.
“The person I was hoping you would see didn't come here tonight. Let's just go home so I can explain to you all there is to know.”
They walked out of the hall, side by side. Gilbert was all smiles. His night wasn't going well initially but seeing Cedric brought happiness to his heart.
The chauffeur was already in the car. They got in and the car pulled out of Olive and Vine.
Noah turned to Gilbert. “Who did you want me to meet?”
“Jennifer Scott.”
Noah's eyes widened with shock. Jennifer Scott was a well-known woman in all of Brookhaven.
She was the CEO of LussoTech, a company in Casington.
He was first able to discover her because Chloe dreamt of working at LussoTech when she was done with school. Then, he made a few findings.
Jennifer Scott was like a model to all the young business-oriented women.
“Does she know me?”
Gilbert laughed. “Of course. She has been looking for you everywhere. In fact, she was the first to confirm you didn't die. Even till today, she believed you were alive somewhere and was certain she was going to find you. She used to be your escort.”
“A female bodyguard?” he was stunned.
“Yes, she's not ordinary, Noah. She's a woman like a man and yes, you need to see her as soon as possible. I will place a call to her now in fact. She will be so happy to see you!”

Victoria didn’t just fall; she collapsed, as if something inside her had finally snapped under the weight of years. Her knees hit the floor first, then her hands, trembling, barely holding her up. Tears streamed down her face in uneven lines, her breathing jagged.“I didn’t mean it…” she whispered, voice breaking apart. “That wasn’t my intention, I swear it wasn’t…”Noah stood over her, unmoved at first. His jaw tightened, his eyes dark with something sharper than anger, more like betrayal, confusion, and disbelief, all tangled together.“Then what was your intention?” he shot back, his voice cutting through her sobs. “To kill him? To destroy everything? Because that’s exactly what you did.”Victoria flinched as the words struck her physically. Her shoulders shook harder.“Yes!” she cried out suddenly, her voice rising in a painful confession. “Yes, it’s my fault Anita died! I know that, I know!” She dragged in a breath that refused to steady. “But it wasn’t how it was supposed to hap

Zack didn’t even see it coming. The slap landed across his face with a sharp crack, snapping his head to the side and sending him stumbling backward. He barely caught himself before dropping but the second hit came faster.“Have you lost your mind?!” Victoria’s voice shook with raw fury.Zack’s vision blurred for a second as he steadied himself, one hand pressed to his cheek. “Victoria, I can explain.”“Explain?” she cut in, advancing on him. “Explain how Cedric suddenly knows where we are? Go on. I’m listening.”“I didn’t tell him…”Another slap. This time Zack hit the floor.William shot up immediately. “Mom, stop!”Victoria didn’t even glance at him. She stood over Zack, breathing hard, her anger barely contained. “You think I don’t know how this works? You think men like Cedric just wander around hoping to get lucky?”Zack pushed himself up slightly, wincing. “I didn’t give him this place. I swear. I was trying to throw him off..”“By leading him straight to us?” she snapped.“Tha

Morning traffic stretched thin across the road, the city only just beginning to wake. Jennifer’s car cut steadily through it, the low hum of the engine blending with the faint rush of wind outside.Inside, the atmosphere was far from calm.Mike sat behind the wheel, focused, both hands steady as he kept a measured distance behind the two black SUVs ahead. Their tinted windows gave nothing away, but everyone in the car knew exactly who was inside.Cedric’s men.Noah leaned back slightly in the rear seat, his gaze fixed past the windshield, sharp and unreadable. Beside him, Jennifer shifted, her arms folded as she glanced between the road and his face.“You’re very sure about this,” she said finally, breaking the silence.Noah didn’t look at her. “I am.”Jennifer studied him for a second longer. “Because right now, all we’re doing is following a lead that could either save them…” she paused slightly, “…or walk us straight into something worse.”Mike let out a quiet breath. “Wouldn’t be

As Kyle pushed his chair back slightly, already signaling the close of the discussion, her voice rose again, controlled, but insistent enough to pull him back.“Father,” she said, drawing his attention once more. “Whatever you decide, don't forget what’s at stake.” Mia reminded.Kyle’s eyes shifted to her slowly.“The dignity of the Giles family,” Mia continued, her tone tightening with each word, “is not something we can afford to gamble with. We don’t even know who took that picture or who sent it out. For all we know, more people have seen it already.”Adrian leaned in slightly, reinforcing her stance without interrupting her rhythm. “And once something like that spreads, it’s difficult to contain. Reputation damage isn’t always immediate, but it’s always costly.”Mia nodded. “Exactly. Which is why the fastest and cleanest solution is obvious.” She held Kyle’s gaze. “We remove the problem before it grows.”A pause. Then, more bluntly. “End things with Noah before he stains this fam

Morning came quietly over the Giles estate, sunlight spilling through the tall dining room windows in long, golden streaks. The table was already set with polished cutlery, crystal glasses, and plates arranged with the kind of precision that came from years of routine.Breakfast, as always, was elaborate.Fluffy buttermilk pancakes stacked high with maple syrup dripping down the sides. Crispy bacon and sausage links. Scrambled eggs folded with cheese and herbs. Golden hash browns. Freshly baked biscuits with butter and jam. A bowl of cut fruits which was strawberries, blueberries, melon, sat at the center, alongside a jug of orange juice and a silver pot of coffee still steaming.Their personal chef had outdone himself.Yet the atmosphere didn’t match the warmth of the meal.Kyle sat at the head of the table, his presence steady, commanding even in silence. Beside him, Cynthia maintained her usual composed posture, while Adam leaned back in his chair like he had nowhere better to be a

Amelia got home late, late enough that the house had already slipped into that quiet, settled stillness that comes after dinner has been cleared and conversations have died down. The faint scent of food still lingered in the air, but the dining area was empty, and the lights dimmed.Mia was curled up in the living room, half-watching something on TV. She glanced up as Amelia stepped in.“You’re back,” Mia said casually.Amelia forced a small smile. “Yeah. Long day.”She didn’t stop to say more. Her mind was too full, too loud. She headed straight for Aria’s room. She knocked lightly. No response.Amelia hesitated for a second, then pushed the door open anyway. The room was dim, only the bedside lamp casting a soft glow. The bathroom door clicked open just as she stepped in, and Aria walked out, a towel wrapped securely around her waist, damp hair clinging to her shoulders. She looked tired, but still composed.“Oh you’re back,” Aria said, a faint smile forming. “When did you get in?”
