The silence was deafening. Not a single bird chirped, not a breeze moved. It was as if the entire world held its breath.
Mr. Felix stood frozen in place, eyes fixed on Jason’s polished shoe being thrust arrogantly in his direction. The air around him thickened with humiliation, but not for the reason Jason thought. Mr Felix’s fingers trembled slightly, not out of fear, but from a slow-boiling anger. Jason smirked, loving the attention. “What? Cat got your tongue, old man? Maybe if you lick my shoe clean, I might even throw in a house for you and your sorry son.” Some of the students gasped while some laughed hiding behind their friends. Kael couldn’t breathe. His heart thudded violently in his chest as he looked from Jason to Felix. This couldn’t be happening. The man who had just bowed before him in gratitude, who had shown more humility than anyone in that academy ever had, was now being mocked in front of his own son—and everyone was watching like it was a damn TV show. “No,” Kael whispered, but it was too soft. No one heard. He was not sure if the system rules could be broken. He remembered he had earlier tried to send a huge amount of money and he could not even though they were in his account. Mr Felix bent alittle bit and Jason's face lit up with joy. He won't only be reckoned with but this humiliation was going to spread through the whole school and they were all going to fear him even more. Even the Dean was silently watching what was going to happen. " You don't need to take the offer." Kael said finding his courage. " Not again, Voss!" Jason shouted. " You don't know when to keep your trap shut?" Jason said in an outburst. " What could you possibly do? You think because you gave out a million dollars to him that makes you a rich man like me? You think I am stupid?" " Not really but i think you are rude and all of them here must be more dumber than I think they all are." Kael said with a wide grin on his face. " Did he just talk back?" " He just insulted us all." " Kael is stupid and we are going to make him drop out!" " You bastard!" Some one splashed water on Kael but he didn't stop. To everyone's surprise, Kael walked up to Jason and bowed slowly. He licked his shoes and looked up. " Yuck!" " Did you see that? He just licked his shoes." " Yeah, he is now the number one public show dog." " He is going to wish he hadn't." Instead, Kael stood up back and looked at Jason's face. " This is the last time I am ever going to bow to you again. I am going o make you wish you have never picked on me." " And what are you going to do Voss?" Jason said challengingly. his eyebrows arched in anger. " Do you think you can go toe to toe with me?" he said mockingly. " I can make you disappear with the snap of my fingers!" " Do you call that a threat? Do you think I am scared of you?" Kael's voice thundered like lightening making some of them scared. The have never seen him so angry, so pissed. Here was a boy with had always taken everything thrown Gus way. He was the punching bag but now, it looks like Kael was ready to throw his first punch and it was against the biggest boxer in the school. Jason looked into his eyes and he could see something he had never seen in them before. " So what are you going to do?" " I am going to do something and you are not going to like it." Kael said laughing. He was scared but he needed to show everyone Jason was not invisible as they thought he was. " Two million!" Jason shouted. " I am going to give you your job back with two million as your salary." " Omg! Can he do that?" " His words is just as his father. I am sure he can." " The man wil be stupid not to say yes." " C'mon old man. Take the deal!" Another student said from the group of guys who wore some fancy looks. Felix looked at Kael and back at Jason. It was like being in a cross fire between goof and evil and he wasn't sure who to side with. " Are you hearing rightly, Mr Felix or do I need to repeat myself?" Jason barked getting worked up. " Don't you dare talk to me father that way!" Thomas said in anger rushing at Jason but one of his cronies landed a blow t his face knocking him out. But for a minute, no one cared about him being kicked out. He was just a pawn in the game while the rest of then were all wondering who was going to win between Kael and Jason. " Three million!" Kael shouted. " I am going to give you three million dollar. You can start a business of your own,sir and you want need to bow down to anyone ever again." " You are bluffing! Are you really going to listen to this dirty rat or you are going to listen to me. I can make it happen with just a phone call Felix. What is it going to be? Are you going to shake hands with me with or you going to throw it all away." Jason said bringing out his cell phone. " He would be stupid to trust Kael." " I would shake hands with Jason. You don't wanna be on his bad side." Mr Felix looked at Kael yet again. His shoes were tattered. His clothes were cheap and worn out. The thought of how a bit could help was all he could think about. He stared at Thomas who was now awake groaning on the floor. He was not sure what to say when Kael said another word that made all of them went dead silent. " What did you say again?" Mr Felix asked with a surprise tone.

Kael's name was on the lips of all the students, including some of the educators who had seen the whole show go down. Some said he was a freak, while the rest wanted to know how he did it. "He must be on drugs." "Are you sure? Because the last time I checked, no drug could ever do that shit!" "Then what? Are you saying he is on some kind of drug?" "No! You idiots. What if he's into magic?" One of the students burst into laughter. "You mean like Aladdin and the genie?" he said, adjusting his spectacles. "You, my friend, have been watching too much Disneyland. Don't you think you are too old for that?" "Listen, you are not thinking the way I am thinking. Kael was nobody. I searched for his name on Google, and trust me, nothing came out. No connection and definitely not family ties. Who the hell is he? But then seeing what I saw today, I can only come to one conclusion. He is using." "Magic." The petite guy said it again, and they all burst into laughter. "You better get your ac

Everybody stop!”Students swarmed the sidelines, some with phones already recording, others too stunned to move. The whispers turned into roars of speculation, and Kael could hear every word even as he tried to steady his breathing.“Jordan finished him!”“He’s done for. I doubt he would ever be able to play football ever again, maybe forever.”“Serves him right for thinking he could compete.”" Who does he think he is?" Through the blur, Jordan stood back as he basked in joy. He stood a few feet away, chest heaving, but there was no guilt on his face. No fear and no remorse for what he had done. It was replaced with something everyone saw. Pride. . Like he had accomplished exactly what he came here to do.“Take him off the field,

Maya stared at him, her lips parting as if she wanted to speak but words refused to come. For the first time, she wasn’t sure if she was the one in control of the game anymore. Kael had just flipped the board without even lifting a finger.“Everything can be bought?” she finally repeated, her voice a dangerous whisper. “You make it sound like people have no value beyond money.”Kael looked back and forth as if he was trying to measure everything and everyone in the cafeteria. He rested back into his sit and looked at her face. " Tell me one thing." he said slowly tapping his fingers on the polished table. " Look around you and tell me what you see." Maya's lips pouted, she definetly wasn't expecting Kael to be a strong opponent. " What do you mean?" She asked crossing her arms and slightly resting back on her chair. And Kael was not going to be attracted to her. He was going to make her want him. Beg him for every touch and every kiss. As Kael sat down by Maya, the cafeteria went silent. But instead, Kael said nothing except for his cutlery banging the plate each time he tried to pick up his steak meat. [ AFTER A WHILE ]Maya looked at him. "You do know they are waiting for us to say something." Kael dropped the fork and stared at Maya; he grabbed the white napkin and cleaned his mouth. A gentle smile was plastered on his face as he grabbed a cup of water. Maya laughed. She had never given anyone as much attention as she had given to Kael. She waited for him, making sure he dropped the glass cup he was holding

The air grew stiff, and the cafeteria went silent like everyone was waiting for a bomb to go off. Phones were still out, cameras flashing, recording every movement. Jason stood tall, his grin widening as if he had just trapped a rat.Kael tilted his head slightly, his lips twitching into a half-smile. “Really? Since when do chairs come with ownership tags, Jason?”Jason’s laughter echoed across the cafeteria. “Since I said so. That seat is mine, and everyone knows it.” He stepped closer, lowering his voice but making sure everyone could hear. “You’re not sitting next to Maya. Not today, not ever. Got it?”Gasps rippled through the students. Some whispered Jason’s words under their breath, as if repeating them gave the threat more weight." Do you think Kael is going to listen to him?" " He is scared o
