“I’m very disappointed with your choices, Savanna! What exactly is wrong with you? Don’t you think at all? Is this how I raised you!?” Savanna’s mother yelled the moment she stepped through the door.

“Mom, please. I just got in. Can you let me rest before bombarding me with questions? I need a break.” Savanna sighed, rubbing her forehead as she headed toward her room.

“Don’t you dare take another step!” Her mother’s sharp voice stopped her. She turned, meeting her mother’s angry gaze as she pointed a finger at her. “If I had married a poor man, do you really think you’d be living such a good life right now? I made the decision to stay away from men who are worthless and have nothing to offer, and you must do the same! There is no way I will let you marry Nolan while I’m still alive!”

Savanna didn’t respond. Instead, she turned and walked straight to her room, locking the door behind her. If only her mother knew she had already ended things with Nolan.

She had hoped they could work something out, but when she brought up the idea of him selling his aunt’s land, he refused. His decision had hurt her deeply.

“I won’t sit here and stress over someone who has nothing to offer,” she thought, bringing out her phone. She scrolled through her contact list before pausing at a familiar name. A slow smile crept onto her lips as she clicked on it.

Jett.

“If the offer is still up, we can meet at the club.”

She texted him and turned to her wardrobe, searching for the perfect outfit.

Meanwhile, Nolan was still in shock from his call with Savanna. He hadn’t expected her to speak to him that way or say she wasn’t interested anymore. They had loved each other so much, at least, he thought they did. But the way she ended things so easily made him question everything.

He wandered aimlessly, lost in thought, trying to pass away time. The last thing he also wanted was to go home and face his aunt after the humiliation she suffered at the hands of Savanna’s mother. He had no idea what to say to her, so he decided to stay out until she had gone to bed.

Hours later, he finally made his way home. But as he approached his neighborhood, he stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening in shock.

Dozens of cars lined the streets, not just any cars, but luxury cars he had only ever seen in magazines and on television. They lined up all the way to the front of his house.

Nolan had never seen cars like that up close, and of all places, he never expected to see them in his neighborhood.

He lived in the poorest, most run-down part of the city, where homes were barely standing and could collapse at any moment. Only the poor and less privileged lived there. Nobody owned a car, not even a scooter. It was that bad.

His heart pounded as he hurried home.

“Aunt! Aunt!” he called out but a weak voice replied to him instead.

“It’s really him! My grandson! My grandson is here!”

Nolan turned to see an old man dressed in the most expensive suit he had ever laid eyes on. Tears streamed down the man’s face as he slowly walked toward him.

The old man’s legs wobbled and Nolan rushed forward, catching him before he could fall.

“I think you’re mistaken, old man. You’ve got the wrong person.”

The old man shook his head. “No… I’m not mistaken. You look just like my son, David, when he was young! The resemblance is unbelievable!”

Nolan went quiet for some minutes, thinking. He had no idea who the old man was or how he had found him. Who is David? What is going on?

Suddenly, the door of one of the cars opened. A young woman stepped out, dressed in a beautiful suit. Her dark hair was neatly pulled into a bun, and a warm smile spread on her lips.

Nolan swallowed hard, shamelessly letting his eyes roam over her. She was breathtaking.

“Hello, Nolan,” she greeted. “My name is Elizabeth, and I’ve been working as an assistant for Mr. Lancaster here. I know this must be a lot to take in, but if you don’t mind, can we go inside, so I can explain everything to you.”

Nolan blinked. “You… you know my name?” he stammered, licking his lips.

“Yes, I know your name,” Elizabeth replied, still smiling. “We’ve been searching for you for months now, since I started working for your grandfather. When we found you, we ran a thorough investigation to be sure we had the right person.”

Nolan frowned. “An investigation? To find the right person? And that person is supposed to be me?”

Elizabeth nodded, pulling out a folder. “I knew you’d be confused, so I put everything in this folder for you. If you read through it, you’ll understand what’s going on. But first, can we go inside?” She asked again, eyeing the neighbours who had gathered around, trying to find out what was going on.

Once they were inside, Nolan quickly flipped through the documents. To his shock, they were all about him. Every detail of his life for the past years was summarized in front of him. But what truly stunned him was a single paper that stood out from the rest. A hospital document.

It was a DNA test.

His eyes widened as he read the result. 99.99% match. The test confirmed a direct father-son relationship between him and a man named David Lancaster.

Nolan’s hands shook as he gripped the paper. “This… this can’t be true… I’m seriously not the person you’re looking for.”

“Your father, David, was driving you and your mother to visit your grandfather when his car was involved in a terrible accident. Both your parents died on the spot. When the police arrived at the scene, you were missing. Since that day, your grandfather has never stopped searching for you.”

“This is your true identity, Nolan.” You are a Lancaster.”

Nolan ran his hand through his hair. This was too much. His mind spun as he struggled to process everything. “What? This… how… how is this possible?”

“I’m so sorry, child. I’ve made you suffer all these years without knowing. When I found out how you were living, it broke me. How could the only grandson of one of the top families in the country be struggling like this? How could the heir to Evermark Industries be suffering?”

Tears streamed down the old man’s face as he held Nolan’s hands. “I’ll never let you suffer again. I promise.”

Nolan felt like he was dreaming. None of this seemed real. His entire life, everything he had known wasn’t true.

He was the grandson of the richest man in the country? Of Evermark industries?

This was insane!

If Jett really wanted to prove himself, he would have to pay for everyone here and that was the only way to keep up the act. Still, he didn’t want to show that he was panicking. So he straightened his shoulders and put on a smile again.“Alright,” he said quickly, pulling his arm from Savannah’s grip. “You guys wait here. I’ll go talk to the butler and sort everything out.”He turned around and started walking slowly toward the reservation desk, each step heavier than the last. His hands were in his pockets, his fingers nervously tapping his phone. He was already thinking of ways to talk himself out of this without looking like a coward.Behind him, the girls watched with big smiles on their faces, proud of him like he was some kind of king.Jett walked up to the butler with slow steps, trying not to look nervous. His heart was beating fast, and he quickly looked back over his shoulder to check if Savannah or any of the others were following him. Luckily, they were all still standing

A man dressed in a neat black butler uniform stepped out from a hallway. He had white gloves on and a small notebook in his hand. With a polite smile, he walked toward the group and gave a small bow before speaking.“Good afternoon, everyone,” he said with a warm, professional tone. “Are you here for the grand opening event of the hotel, or are you just here to dine at the restaurant?”The group all turned to him. Jett stepped forward confidently and gave the man a quick look from head to toe, like he was sizing him up.“Just talk to me,” Jett said, waving a hand as if he didn’t want the man to look at the others. “I’m the one in charge here. What exactly is happening today?”The butler gave a polite nod. “Of course, sir,” he replied, keeping his voice calm and respectful. “Today is the official launch of the hotel and as part of the celebration, we also have our restaurant open for special guests.”He flipped open his small notebook and checked something quickly before looking up aga

“Excuse me, what’s your business here?” The bouncer asked firmly.Sonya blinked like she hadn’t heard him right. “What did you just say?”The bouncer stood straight and repeated himself. “What’s your business here? This entrance is for guests only.”Sonya’s face turned red. “Do you know who I am?” she snapped, planting her hand on her hip. “My uncle works here, and he’s not just anybody! If he hears that you stopped me, you’re going to lose your job today, you fat, bald idiot!”Sariah nodded quickly, backing her up. “Yeah, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to.”But the bouncer didn’t move. He didn’t even pay attention to what she was saying. He kept his hand up and didn’t let them pass.Jett, Savannah, and Dora stopped behind the twins, looking confused. Sonya had promised that getting in would be easy since her uncle worked at the hotel, and now they were being blocked.Sonya’s mouth tightened, and she pulled out her phone angrily. “Ugh! “Where exactly are you even going that you’re calling it a place where I can’t be on the same level as you or that I wouldn’t be able to afford to go?” Nolan asked, folding his arms tightly. His voice was still calm, but his eyes showed that he was burning with anger inside. Normally, he would’ve walked away. Normally, he would’ve just let it slide but today was different.Jett moved closer to Nolan, standing right in front of him like he was trying to make him feel small. He folded his arms, raised his chin, and looked at Nolan like he was nothing.“This isn’t just some regular hotel, alright?” Jett said slowly, like Nolan was too dumb to understand. “This is a five-star place. A real luxury hotel. People who stay there have money, real money. People who wear designer clothes every day, not just on special occasions.”Nolan didn’t back down or step back. He stood his ground and kept his arms crossed, his jaw clenched tight. But inside, he was trying to hold himself back from hitting

“So… you all expect me to cry over a woman?” Nolan asked, raising a brow. “Is that what this is about? That I’m supposed to be sad and broken just because Savannah isn’t mine anymore?”He shook his head and let out a small laugh even though deep down, he was pained and still sad. “That doesn’t even make sense,” he said. “Do you know how many women I could have right now if I wanted to? I’m not heartbroken. Trust me. I just don’t chase people who don’t want me.” For a second, there was silence. Then Dora stepped forward with a scowl on her face.“You’re such a scum, Nolan,” she snapped, arms folded tightly across her chest. “How could you say that? It hasn’t even been two days since you and Savannah broke up! And now you’re talking about having women around you like she’s just some random person?”Nolan didn’t say anything, but Gabriel, who was standing beside him, let out a loud scoff.“Oh please,” Gabriel said, clearly annoyed. “Are you kidding me right now? Can’t you see that Sava

Nolan stepped out of the store first, his hands in his pockets, happy with how everything played out. Gabriel followed right behind him. “That,” Gabriel said, clapping Nolan on the back with a grin, “was legendary. I mean, wow. I didn’t expect you to do that. You really had me thinking Fiona was going to walk out with that bag.”He shook his head, still impressed. “But seriously, where the hell did you get that kind of money from? What are you not telling us? I’m so confused and curious at the same time”Nolan chuckled under his breath, the corners of his lips twitching. “It’s a long story,” he said, glancing at him. “But don’t worry. I’ll tell you about it soon.”Gabriel opened his mouth to say more, but then, Cole walked out of the store with a heavy sigh. He ran his hand through his hair and shook his head, looking like he hadn’t recovered from what just happened.“I just hope Fiona doesn’t hold a grudge over all this,” He muttered quietly, avoiding Nolan’s eyes.Gabriel turned to
