I am stuck. The robbers have completely surrounded us. We are the hostages. The bank had just opened.

Not many people are present. I look around. I think including the bank staff about 20 people are here.

The robbers have weapons. And judging from their looks, they are trained. They are well coordinated and they work efficiently.

Their weapons are also modern. Only a well-off mafia or some kind of shady organization can pull this kind of stunt.

Again, they could be from the military. Excommunicated or kicked out, they seem to be seething with hunger.

Hunger for money. After being kicked out, I went all around the world. Getting to know people and gaining experience.

From the look in their eyes, they are starved. They are hungry for money and women.

They are checking out the female employees. Any moment now, they might drag one of them to a different to have a little fun.

I can hear the police from the outside. But they are not interested in the police.

Working like it was nothing, they collected everything. From money to valuables, nothing is left behind.

Like a cloud of locusts, they cleared the bank.

I close my eyes and fall into deep thoughts. I am thinking. Thinking about the days I have passed, the days of my exile.

Calling it exile would be terrible. I am who I am today because of that exile. If not, I would still be working my rear off to make ends meet.

To be exact, it was five years ago. I was only 20. Paying off the huge debt my family had made.

I graduated from high school but never went to college. I was so busy working that I even stopped looking at the people around me.

And when I came to, I found myself in a mess. One day, I reached home but it was empty. Only a single piece of paper left.

I flip the paper and see one word written.

‘Bye.’ That was what was written in it. And I understood. My parents have run off. They have left me behind.

Now that was what I was thinking. But then came the loan sharks. Same as usual.

They banged the door open.

“Come with us.” They said.

I had no choice but to go. I was in a situation that could be said something similar to a manga.

But reality isn’t so nice. They took me to their boss.

The big boss of the mafia. The underworld don, whose name strikes fear even in the most fearless people.

I was standing in front of him. But I wasn’t intimidated or scared.

He was looking at me with pity. I guess, I am in a pitiful state.

“Your parents have certainly done something unreasonable to you. So I am taking pity on you.”

“Thank you.” I say.

I don’t have any money. I was fired from my job just yesterday and now I am here.

“But I have a condition. You have to marry my daughter.”

And that’s where my life derailed. My life would have been pretty normal but I was dragged into the world of mafia.

From the looks, I cannot refuse.

“How about we meet first?” I try to delay it.

If his daughter rejects me then I would be free.

“Ok.” He said and picked up the receiver.

“Come in.” He said and someone entered.

She is beautiful. Just that one word came to my mind. I had lost all words upon seeing her.

Long eyelashes, black hair, white complexion, a slender body but having curves where it counts and slightly taller than average. That was his daughter.

The name? I would say it later. She entered the room and everything stopped.

I stared at her like time had stopped but soon came to my senses.

She is too beautiful. Like an idol, no a goddess. I am not worthy of her.

“I have chosen this man.” He said to her.

“……” She didn’t say and looked at me once.

“Are you okay with him?” He asked again.

“Yes.” She said yes.

What? She betrayed me. I thought she would be like, “Who is this pest? You want me to marry him!”

But she just said yes. I think she has something else in her mind.

Because the look in her eyes is as cold as ice. I was shivering just from looking at those eyes.

And we got married on the spot.

She is the same age as me. But we are different. I am a high school graduate who didn’t go to college. Also I graduated from a public high school.

On the other hand, she graduated from a prestigious private school and went to the best public university.

And she has already graduated. I guess she is one of those talented people who are just too far away from the mediocre ones.

We didn’t really talk and I was being used as a slave.

By her family, from day to night, I was forced to work.

And her mother started sabotaging me. They would often mess with me.

My wife who is extremely cold won’t even sleep in the same room as me.

So I had no choice but live outside. My mother in law, she was a typical mother in law you can find in those soap operas.

But instead she was torturing her son in law.

I lived at their house and worked like a slave. No, I wasn’t even treated as a human being. Like a dog, they made me work.

Just remembering those days give me the shivers.

Father who was mostly responsible for our marriage felt sorry for me. He gave me an idea.

He told me to act. Doing so would ensure my freedom.

They would kick me out and I would be free. And I started doing just that.

And after a couple months, they kicked me out. My mother in-law kicked me out.

My wife even took my sign in the divorce paper as I was leaving.

I then decided to see the world. I was given some money by father and decided to go on a long journey.

I was thinking of all these when someone shook me.

“Don’t sleep.” The person sitting next to me is telling me that.

I rub my eyes and yawn. I stretching my body.

The robbers are still here. They are negotiating with the police.

“How long is this farce gonna keep going?” I ask unamused.

I am tired of this situation.

“You really lack the sense of danger.” She said.

“Anyway, I hope someone would pop out so I can finally leave.”

I am not scared but I am getting late. So I have to leave soon.

Then suddenly someone broke in.

Like a hero in a movie, they broke in.

The robbers started firing at them. They took cover behind a pillar and the magazine was emptied.

When they were reloading that person dashed to the robbers and knocked them out one after another.

It really is a rescue. Thank you. I was almost late.

But when I look at them clearly, I felt a shock.

Because the person who did this is an acquaintance.

What can I say? It has been weird since coming back here.

But they haven’t noticed me yet. So I try to slop away.

Hopefully, they won’t catch on.

  • Alina: part-4

The ride was long and boring. I got some more answers from Alina.“Your soul bears a stigma from your past life. A curse which was inflicted upon you by a witch. That witch is no more. Not even her soul remains but that’s exactly why your curse lingers even in your new life. The afterlife or the hell is a system which purifies the soul. Your soul should be cleansed after being punished in hell. That’s how it goes. The witch held a grudge so deeply against you that she went this far. She used her own soul as payment for your curse. It’s abnormally potent. When I saw you in my visions, I started searching for you. That’s when I saw your soul bearing the curse. As things stood, your soul was vanishing too. I had to step in and make sure your soul lived. That’s why your original personality got masked under the protection I put on your soul. Now your original personality is speaking.” (Alina)“True that the previous me does not feel like myself at all. It was as if my body was possessed.

  • Alina: part-3

After her confession and my acceptance, we stayed in limbo. She would train with me, teach me how to use my powers, give me knowledge about her father and the system and tell me about creation itself. It didn’t feel bad. I was calm, collected and logical. I did feel that logic would hinder my ability to love as it made me a bit shy.Alina didn’t mind it. She explained what she did to me when I was alive.“You were originally supposed to be the quiet and brooding type. You would were to be cynical, logical and aloof. However you would attract a lot of girls if I had left you like that. So I changed your personality a bit. I changed it to how you acted. That made you likable but also diverted any girls from getting too close to you.” (Alina)“So, I am back to how I am supposed to be?”“Yes. Honestly, your soul carries a little too many thoughts. I am not saying I don’t like you. Now, you are more like a serious child than a cheerful one. I quite like it.” (Alina)Our conversations woul

My next torture was flogging. I would be flogged by the torturers infinitely for an indefinite period. But I made a dash for the entrance of the layer the moment I was out of the vat. I found out that day that the guards of hell were actually pretty weak.If I have to sum it up, the guards of hell were as strong as a regular human. They were humanoid but had totally different looks. They were grotesque to say the least. Even a glance at them would give you nightmares for days.Looking at them for so long, I became accustomed to their looks. At first, I couldn’t differentiate between them. Eventually I got the hang of it and I started to notice their individual differences.I tried talking to them but they do not have their own will. They were like flesh dolls with primitive commands.Their jobs were following the schedule and guarding hell. I pushed them into the vat and dashed towards the entrance. Many guards came for me but my body was different somehow.I was stronger than the g

  • Alina: part-1

Let’s go back in time a bit. I was in hibernation but the timer ran out. I had a rude awakening. My consciousness was dizzy and memories were jumbled. It was similar to a hangover. I was lost in my thoughts, trying to piece together my memories. It was painful as if my life had changed. Then I slowly remembered what had happened. I went from being a hopeless romantic to being branded as a heretic and executed. It didn’t end there. I went from being in the afterlife to being thrown in the deepest layer of hell. All of this happened because I was in love. I had a lot of time there. I had some companions to keep me company down in hell. I cooled my head. It’s both metaphorical and literal. The deepest layer of hell, Niflheim, was a cold place. The average temperature ranged from absolute zero to even lower than that. In the third dimension, it would have been impossible due to the physical limitations of the dimensions but Niflheim transcended dimensions. It was possible. The col

I will not take any direct actions and primordial creators are coming out, one after the other.I may be called Constant but even I didn’t expect this outcome. Azathoth was asking questions that were rather troublesome to answer.I didn’t want to deal with the fallout so I just ignored him. For some unknown reason, Chthulu thought I had a plan. She went ahead talked about my nonexistent plan to others.“She really is a go getter, isn’t she?”“So much so that it even shocks me from time to time.”My partner is taunting me. But she is right! I should have been more forthright. I kept hiding things and it became weird.I should have told Chthulu that I had no plans whatsoever. She assumed that I had one since I answered her questions with silence.Silence doesn’t mean agreement but it becomes open ended. Chthulu always took my silence as my approval. It didn’t affect us much so I never bothered to make i
