KILL OR BE KILLED
“That was so fast.” Luna said as she struggled to lift her sword. Everyone was now in awe of Koby. He wasn’t a mindless creature like the shoggoths that were easy to cut down. He was a fully functional human being that was now hunting them after they were already tired out. “Hit him with Resonance, Rory.” Zara shouted. With a clap of his palms, Rory created the sound wave that caused pain to those nearby but didn’t faze Koby. Resonance couldn’t penetrate the dark aura surrounding him. Rushing towards Rory with a ghost step, Koby tried to hack at him but is blocked again. “You’re not getting me that easily.” Rory said smirking. Koby let out a grin before using his second hatchet to strike again but it was narrowly avoided by Rory, as he tried to keep distance between them. In a dark void, Koby floated around before regaining consciousness. “Am I dead?” He asked himself as he felf himself and the way around the void. “This is supposed to be my incarnate?” A loud voice boomed across the void. “Pathetic.” The voice said with disgust. Fear trickled down Koby’s spine as he looked around. “Who’s there?” He finally summoned up courage to ask. “Who do you think?” the voice chuckled. “If you’re going to kill me, make it quick. Don’t keep me in suspense.” Koby said. “The only good thing about you is your hate. You have an innate hatred for your own existence.” The voice continued as though, Koby had not said anything. “What do you know about me?” Koby said now annoyed at this being that was trying to read him. “In your entire lifetime, you have been beset with problems that has made you to hate existence itself. The last time I saw that type of hate was from myself.” Just then two ghostly eyes and a smile appeared in the void. “What are you?” Koby asked

The Advance Team was being pushed back by the hordes of shoggoths that came their way. “Leave those that are dead and take the injured ones back to base.” Luna shouted out as everyone grabbed the nearest to injured. “Zara, burn the corpses.” Koby said. Zara looked at him with a confused look. “The shoggoths might take their forms.” Koby explained further which caused her to create a wave of flames which consumed the flesh. “Flame Storm.” With that, the advance team fled back to the Recon Team’s position. The Recon Team had made their preparations, stacking furnitures on top of each other, making a good walk, so that anyone that comes through has to go over. The injured Advance Team made their hop over as the Recon Team prepared their attacks against the oncoming shoggoths. “Hold the line.” Clifford shouted at everyone as they attacked the shoggoths. Everyone looked at him with a confused look and so he explained further. “We have a lot of dead weight in the mansion that keeps holding potential survivors down. People that don’t want to use their abilities, so if we can divide everyone into units and put each unit in a section of the mansion, we can each focus on our dead weights instead of joining up and increasing the amount of dead weights.” “Then what was all that speech you gave on the steps earlier, if you were going to divide the weak ones why give the speech.” Kai asked “To give everyone a sense of unity so as to avoid people becoming desperate and jeopardizing others. No matter how you see it, this is our best way to survive.” “The shoggoths are too many and if we divide into units,we might hold them off for a while. A night or two perhaps and when everyone is at their lowest, they’ll kill us.” Rory said. “Why don’t we bring everyone together and barricade the entrances of the mansion and defend the barricades.” Zara

Koby let out a heavy breath as he watched her leave. “She’s a feisty.” Rory announced his presence from a doorway looking at Koby with his hands folded. “I guess so.” Koby said and made for the door “I like you, Koby. You seem like you understand the situation well. And you’re clearly weary of me.” Rory said smiling while extending an arm for a handshake. “You are very unpredictable, Rory.” Koby said without returning the handshake. “You’re weary of me. Smart. But we really need to cooperate with each other if we are to have a chance at surviving.” Rory explained “This is a period of doubt and my instincts say you’re very dangerous. I have been one to listen to my instincts.” “My instincts told me that you seem like someone that can survive. Don’t try to go at it alone or you will end up dead.” Rory said before leaving. “I also think you will survive.” Koby muttered under his breath. Shoggoth Britney launched a tentacle attack at the two boys, but they were quick enough to dodge and counter attack. Koby spinning his hatchets and dodging attacks while hacking at tentacles, James dodging and dashing while slashing off tentacles James was very effective in dealing with the tentacles but it was too much for him to handle by himself. Suddenly an idea popped in Kai’s mind “James head straight in, while Koby hacks off the tentacle attacks. I’ll try to pin her at a spot so you can finish her off.” Spitting out blood, Koby rushed in, hacking at attacks as laid out in the plan creating room for James to move in swiftly and head for the neck of the monster. The monster knew it was in a dangerous position and tried to move away but was shot at by Kai. Groaning in pain, it realized that it had been cornered and went beserk, attacking like a wild animal concentrating all it’s attacks on James.
