CHAPTER NINE

That night, I decided to take the red dragon pill. When I swallowed the pill, I could feel a fiery sensation coming from my chest as the pill started to dissolve. Then it spread from my chest at its starting point to every part of my body.

 It was as if my body was set on fire, as I could feel the temperature raising and sweating all over my body. The next moment my joint started snapping, which caused me great pain.

I thought I could bear it but the pain increased and my body felt as if it was burning up, to the point I let a scream and pass out on the bed.

When I woke the next morning, my bed was damp and dirty. I got up and looked at my body to check if there were any changes due to the pains of my bones snapping and the feeling of my body set on fire.

My body looked ok after my observation, just that my sight was a bit hazy. I went to the bathroom to wash off the dirt on my body, after I was through with that, I walked out and passed the front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the room. I paused when I passed it, feeling confused I walked back to it again.

“WHAT!!” I was shocked when I saw myself in the mirror. I was taller and I could see my well-defined muscles, my auburn red hair got longer and was now reaching my shoulders. What amazed the most was the change in my eyes, it was still deep blue but my pupils are now gold in colour, not the normal black colour. Then I remembered the eyes of the dragon, they really had golden pupils in their eyes.

I looked at my body in the mirror and my shocking transformation. My body looked like that of fifteen years old athlete, not to mention the changes in my eyes and hair. I was already having a headache just thinking of how to explain it to the royal family, especially Sarah.

After a while, I thought of an explanation for them, I went to get dressed, but I found my clothes too small for me. I rubbed my forehead with my left hand.

I called a maid through the bell in my room that goes straight to the maid stationed close by.

When she entered the room, she was shocked and stood there looking at me from top to bottom, I had to clear my throat to bring her attention back from her thoughts.

I asked her to get me a new set of clothes since mine cannot be worn again, and I need them before breakfast.

She left after she stole a glance at me. ‘This is going to be a problem I thought to myself as I sat on the chair in my room. It took her twenty minutes to get the clothing.

I thanked her and placed the bags of clothes on my bed, it was clean after I changed the sheets. I picked up blue long sleeves and grey pants to wear. My hair was going to be a problem so I tied it up in a bun before leaving my room and headed to the living room.

As walked through the passage to the living room, the maids keep looking at me with slight blushes on their faces.

I got to the living room, at the same time as Sarah and her mother. They stopped walking and stared at me for some seconds.

“Peter!! Is that you, my god what happened to you? You look so different and your hair how did it get so long”, Sarah asked as she rushed over to me, walking around me.

“Peter care to explain yourself,” the queen said in a more reserved tone, but I could see the curiosity in her eyes.

“I don’t know my lady, woke like this with my body feeling sore, when I checked the mirror, I had the same expression as both of you”, I said scratching the back of my head and looking at them with a childish smile.

They both of cause found it hard to believe. Who just grew up like this overnight? Sarah walked closer to me looking into my eyes.

“Peter, why is your eye looking different?” she asked and kept looking at me the queen looked directly into my eyes and I could feel using mana to probe my body. ‘Man she’s terrifyingly strong’ I thought.

“I really don’t know how it happened but I feel surprisingly stronger than before” I replied to them as I looked down at the palm of my hands.

“Don’t worry too much, we will figure it out together”, Sarah said as he grabbed my right hand with her small hands.

Breakfast was ready, we went to the dining, and the king was already sitting on his chair waiting to arrive. When I entered his line of sight, he stood up and walked to me.

“Peter, what happened to you, you look different and I could feel you are on equal strength with a level three soldier”, he said observing my body.  

“I don’t know what happened, I just woke up like this”, I said as I spread my hands showing how helpless I am.

He looked at me and nodded and I know he is finding it hard to believe, and then he walked back to his sit.

“I have talked to the director of the academy, in two weeks' time you and Sarah will attend the academy”, he said as we started eating.

I nodded my head and turned to Sarah who had been looking at me all this while. I know she has many questions for me.

Somewhere far away to the north of Gales kingdom. The earth broke and you could see a black amour suit floating in the air. The armour was made of black scales, even the helmet has two shorts golden horns leaning backwards. After floating for a while, amour's suit shot into the clouds and the surrounding settled down.

In a cave far away from where the amour flew to the sky. A hooded figure was sitting on a majestic throne with his eyes closed. As if he felt something, his eye shot open showing his blood-red iris.

“So the amour has risen, It’s time to start the preparations”, he said to himself then closed his eyes again and movement could be seen in the shadows of the cave.
