[Name: Kyle Sirius]
[Talent: C+ rank] [Path: Elementalist] [Element: Star] The voices that spread throughout the hall were filled with confusion. "A progenitor, but what's with the low talent?" a boy asked with a frown. "The weakest progenitor that has ever existed had a [S rank] talent and even he was an anomaly compared to the other progenitors," another boy said. While these conversations were going on, I was sinking deeper into despair. How was I supposed to get back home with such a low talent. Was I destined to spend the rest of my life in this planet. Yes, I had a new family here, but I felt like a part of me was still missing. I couldn't bear not seeing my family again. Just when my thoughts were about to spiral out of control, I suddenly pulled my hand away from the crystal. Fuck this. I wasn't about to give up now. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If it takes selling my soul to the devil to return to Earth, I would do it without any hesitation I raised my head up to stare at the woman in charge of the ceremony. She looked a bit confused on what to do, but after a while she pointed to her right. I turned around, and walked towards the door on the right. No matter the cost, I would return home. I turned the door knob and stepped out. .............................. There was a man waiting for me outside who guided me to my dorm. "Normally, a progenitor is always admitted to the apex class, but your case is a bit different," the man said. "So for now, you'll be admitted to the elite class." According to him, the apex class were for only cadets with at least [S rank] talent. While the rest of at least [C- rank] talent were admitted to the elite class. So yeah, I wasn't meant to be in the apex class. He led me to my room in the elite dorm and gave me the keys before leaving. The house was equipped with a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom and an open kitchen. I went straight to the bedroom and laid down on the bed. The day had not gone as I expected. A sigh slowly escaped my lips. "Status." [Name: Kyle Sirius] [Age: 17] [Talent: C+ rank] [Element: Star] [Class: Swordsman] [Mana: F- rank] [Strength: F- rank] [Agility: F+ rank] [Intelligence: F- rank] [Constitution: F- rank] [Stamina: F rank] [Skills: 0] As expected. Only thing out of the ordinary was my agility and stamina. From what I was told, all physical stats are supposed to be at [F rank]. Whatever, I couldn't waste the little energy I had left, pondering something that worked in my favor. My mind kept on wandering to the events took of the day. Zac ended up in the branch academy, and I awakened with a talent that won't be able to help me achieve my goal. The only thing that could be counted as a lifeline was my element. When a person awakened with a new, never before seen element, they were called progenitors. I awakened with a new element which made me a progenitor. Legends of the progenitors could be heard in every corner of the empire. They were beings that commanded their elements with absolute ease, causing catastrophes with a snap of their fingers. They created their own skills, while others had to accept whatever Baronia gave them. At least, till they got to a certain stage. A 'non progenitor' couldn't compare with a progenitor, even if they were in the same rank. Of course they were exceptions to that rule, but those were rare cases. Even the current emperor was a progenitor. But even being a progenitor had it's drawbacks. Normally, when a person awakened, they were given two skills by Baronia. But progenitors awakened with zero skills. They were weaker than their peers at the start. But with time, they rose to stand at the peak. But with such a low talent, I wasn't sure I would be able to do anything noteworthy with my element. "Whatever, I'll think of a way forward tomorrow..." Just when I was beginning to surrender to the gods of slumber.... {Synchronization complete.} {Good day, Kyle.} A feminine voice suddenly rang out. I opened my eyes and stared blankly at the floating screen. It had a black background with gold colored words written on it. "Since when was the status screen able talk?" {I am not the status screen provided by Baronia.} A realization slowly dawned on me, causing a smile to appear on my face. "Are you like those golden fingers those protagonists in novels usually get?" I asked the floating screen. Ever since I reincarnated, I've been expecting it to appear. I guess it was just waiting for me to awaken first. Maybe with this, I can return to my family back on- {I am not a golden finger or whatever you were expecting.} "What, then what are you?" {I am a guide, a pathway connecting you to someone who has your best interests at heart?} "Nope, I don't need any mysterious being using me for it's nefarious purposes, so get lost." {I can help you return to Earth.} My heart suddenly skipped a beat. "If you're messing with me, I will find what ever being created you, and shove you up his ass." {I'm serious.} "How?" {First, get stronger.} I suddenly felt like strangling the dumb screen. "How am I supposed to do that when I'm stuck with a [C- rank] talent?!" {The means to that end is already within you.} "What do you mean?" I asked with furrowed brows. "Is it possible for me to increase my talent?" {That's for you to figure out.} "The fuck do you mean by that?!" I screamed. "You can't just drop a bomb like that, then tell me to figure it out myself." I didn't receive a response. Which made me even more angry. "If you're gonna ignore my question, you might as well get out. I prefer the status screen provided by Baronia, to whatever you are." That was a complete lie. There was no way I was going to lose my ticket back home. {I can't.} {I've broken your connection to Baronia.} "YOU WHAT?!" {I can do everything the status screen can do and more.} I picked up a pillow and covered my face. I was getting tired of this conversation. "Fine," I muttered with a sigh. "Let's move on. You said you were a pathway to 'someone'. Who is he?" {I can't tell you.} Just as I expected. As long as this person could help me get back to Earth, he could keep up his mysterious act for all I care. "What should I call you?" {You can call me what ever you want.} "Okay, so can I call you betty?" {Absolutely not.} "What about Mira?" {I'll allow it.} "So, Mira, from what I can see, you're completely useless to me at the moment." Instead of responding, Mira displayed my stats. ....And there were some new additions. {Name: Kyle Sirius} {Talent: C+ rank} {Element: Star} {Class: Locked} {Mana: F- rank} {Strength: F- rank} {Agility: F+ rank} {Intelligence: F- rank} {Constitution: F- rank} {Stamina: F rank} {Skills: 0} {Blessing(s): Knowledge of *******} "Wait a minute, why the fuck is my class showing locked. It's supposed to be swordsman} {Because it's locked.} {What your original status scree displayed was incorrect.} "So how do I unlock it?" "That's for you to figure out." At this point, I was too tired to shout. And besides, complaining wouldn't change anything." "Next question, what's 'blessing' supposed to be." {A blessing from an higher being.} "And I suppose this knowledge of who knows what, came from your creator." {That is correct.} I decided to try my luck and see if I would get an answer. "What does it do?" {It gives you important pieces of information when necessary.} {Information that would sometimes be impossible for you to get.} "I guess you aren't that useless after all." {There is a possibility that the blessing will attract unwanted attention from malevolent forces.} "Take it back, I don't need something that would put my life at risk. I mean, what's the use of knowledge if I die before I ever put it to good use." {The advantages outweigh the cons.} {Legendary weapons could be discovered. Of course, it depends entirely on what my creator decide to show you.} {Like I said, he has your best interest at heart.} That.... was actually true. If the blessing is real, I could get my hands on powerful weapons and artifacts. I could protect myself from this 'malevolent forces', and I could achieve so much more. This.... was beginning to sound to good to be true. "What's the catch, what does your creator want from me?" {Nothing that would harm you in any way.} Aha! There was a catch! "Tell me what he wants." I insisted. {If I told you, your brain would probably implode.} "That means it's dangerous!" {I repeat, he has your best interest at heart.} {Even what he wants you to do is in your favor.} I found that hard to believe. "You know what, it doesn't matter, I would walk through the gates of hell, as long as I can have both my families by my side." {You do know walking through the gates of hell means you'll die right?} "Then, I'd do anything but that." With nothing further to say, I took of my clothes and closed my eyes. I was feeling far more better now, even if I didn't know how I would increase my talent, Mira said it was possible. And at the moment, that was enough for me. Moments later I fell asleep with a smile on my face. Little did I know that one of those 'malevolent forces' would visit me that night.Latest Chapter
7. A Psycho's Castle
I opened my eyes expecting to find myself in my very comfortable bed. But instead, I woke up to a scene that wasn't supposed to exist anywhere close to my life. I was standing in what looked like a throne room... with human bodies hanging on the walls. They were mutilated and bleeding profusely. Some were missing their lower half, others had their organs on display, while the rest had their eyes pulled out with blood continually flowing out. The ground beneath me was soaked with the blood dripping from their bodies. At that moment, I really felt like throwing up. But the most disturbing part was they weren't dead. No. They were screaming. Each and every one of them were letting out heart-rending groans. They trashed and screamed with tears flowing out of their eyes. A voice suddenly rang out, causing the voices of the bodies to turn into choked and even more terrified sobs. "Beautiful, Isn't it?" I turned my gaze to the far end of the room, where a man sat le

5. Awakening Ceremony
For the first time in a very long while, I didn't oversleep. We were being led to the academy by our ever present guide. And with every step I took, I could hear my heart beat more forcefully. Like it was trying to break free from my chest. We kept walking till we found ourselves in a garden. Tall trees and colorful flowers were sprawled out before us. And behind us was a dazzling city. The contrast was as clear as day. "Beyond this garden is the academy," our guide said. "It will take us about two hours to cross it, then you will undergo your awakening." Listening to his words, I couldn't help but wonder. Who builds a garden this big? "Looks like our suffering has already begun," Zac murmured beside me. I nodded grimly in agreement. And so, we continued our journey. And if there was one thing I was sure of, it was that greater levels of torment was waiting for us on the other side. ............................... Just as the guide said, it took us about two ho
4. The City Of Eraudia
"Kyle!""Ahhh!" I jolted awake and jumped off the bed. "What the heck, Kelsey?!""You're gonna be late, you idiot!" She screamed back."Late? For wha-" My eyes widened as I realized. "I'm gonna be late!"I bolted into the bathroom and moments later, I was rushing down the stairs."Mum, Dad, I need to get going," I announced. My mum rushed forward and hugged me so tight, i nearly died. "I'm gonna miss you, Kyle.""I'll miss you too mum," I said with a small smile on my lips."Don't stress yourself too much, alright?" she said while stepping back. "We don't want your Illness to return. And please come back to us in one piece.""Alright mum, i won't stress myself." I said. But I knew that was a promise I won't be able to keep, I was about to step foot in an academy that was surely going to push me past my breaking point. So yeah, I was just lying to her.And besides, I was sure the illness wouldn't return. That illness probably originated from the original Kyle's soul.So there was nothi
3. Baronia
Stepping out of the house, I couldn't help but appreciate the cool wind brushing past my face. Walking down the cobbled streets, I saw different kinds of activities going on. From merchants trying to sell their goods, to street brawls due to all sorts of reason. The town of Linwald was as vibrant as ever. None of it was new to me, but for some reason I couldn't help but pause before a man sitting by the roadside. He had burn marks all over his body. Once in a while someone would stare at him with pity, but that was all. People with the same conditions could be found around the city. This was the norm around here, which was terrifying if you thought about it. But considering the threat Baronia was facing it was an expected situation. While Earth had it's wars and pollution among other problems, Baronia was faced with a bigger problem. Humanity was on the brink of extinction. From a population of twenty-one billion, Baronia was down to roughly just seven billion. All this happen
2. A New Family
Opening his eyes, Oliver saw a man, a woman, two boys, and a girl standing around him. 'What the fuck is happening.'"He's awake!" the woman said, nearly screaming, she was beautiful with black hair and blue eyes. She and the others rushed over to Oliver's side. "Kyle, are you alright?""Yeah, I'm al-" Oliver couldn't help but pause. "Sorry, what did you just call me?""Mom, what's wrong with Kyle?" one of the boys asked worriedly, he had brown hair and blue eyes. The woman turned to the man with a questioning look."Eliot, what's wrong with Kyle?"'Why do they keep on calling me Kyle?' Oliver thought.Panic was beginning to set in."I think he lost his memory," Eliot said solemnly, his brown hair and eyes complimenting his good looks even when he looked so grim. The woman covered her mouth with her hands, while the girl broke down in tears."I'll go call the healer," with those words Eliot stepped out.As Oliver lay on the bed he couldn't help but think about when he entered the port
