Chapter 7-Next Task

Alex is dumbfounded after finishing reading his first task on the panel screen.

He should go to the Sans' house and give them $100? Isn't that too good?

Alex disliked the first task, but he had already joined. Then, as per the rules, he had to complete whatever the task, even if he doesn't like it.

Maybe this is one of the challenges for him, seeing how he hates the Sans family.

Letting out a long sigh, Alex stretches his stiff body and gets up from the sofa. His dark irises surveyed his luxurious home for a moment. It is much more luxurious than his old home.

Alex's eyes shifted to the expensive antique chandelier hanging from the ceiling, then grinned slightly. He is no longer a useless unemployed man with only $5 in his wallet.

He now had half the money in his account, minus the money he is going to give to Sans' family. But after this task was completed, he would definitely get a much more valuable reward.

Alex locks his door and walks to his car. He starts the engine and drives the four-wheeled vehicle at high speed. The roads are quite free this afternoon. The sky is clear like his mood right now.

Alex stops his car in the courtyard of the Sans' house with a bit of style. The tires squealed sharply, inviting the residents of the house to come out of their nests.

At first they looked puzzled at the sight of the classic Volvo car parked there, but then their expressions turned to shock when they see Alex's presence.

Jasmine recoils and covers her mouth in disbelief as Alex closes his car door with a haughty smile. He looked at his ex-wife, Ms. Anne, Mr. Victor, John, and his gaping wife.

Alex stepped into the house and pretended to pay his respects. "Good afternoon," Alex greeted wittily. Perhaps because he is in a good mood, he tries to be friendly even though the Sans family looks disgusted by his greeting.

Alex wants to laugh, but he restrains himself. They must have been shocked again at how he got a luxury car in such a short time.

Ms. Anne exhaled her heavy, exaggerated breath again. She folded her arms across her chest and gave Alex a bemused look. "I guess you don't have a speck of shame anymore!" She said in a sharp voice. Her eyes glanced briefly at Alex's Volvo, then her expression hardened. "We've kicked you out of here, you have no more right to come around as you please. What else do you want? Don't tell me you want to lure our daughter with your stolen car!"

Alex smiled a little. Clearly, he could see the envy in his mother-in-law's eyes as she gazed at his one-of-a-kind classic car.

"You know what? You're trying too hard to look rich. We won't believe your sleazy tricks!" Mr. Victor said harshly.

But instead of replying to his ex-father-in-law's insults, Alex prefers to pull money out of his wallet with a haughty face. He has no time to explain to them about the amazing game system that saved his life. The Sans had very little brain capacity, so they wouldn't understand.

Alex pulls out $500, then deliberately recounts it all in front of the wide-eyed Sans family. After finishing, Alex then looked at Ms. Anne, Mr. Victor, John, John's wife, and finally Jasmine. Wordlessly, Alex approaches and gives each member of the Sans family $100, just as the task force had instructed.

They all seem dumbfounded by Alex's gift.

Alex chuckles and puts his wallet back in his pocket. The Sans were speechless, between wanting to throw Alex's gift away, but also feeling reluctant because it is money.

"Why did you give us this money?" Ms. Anne spoke haltingly.

Alex chooses not to answer the question and steps out with a haughty face from the Sans' house. There is a shout from John trying to insult Alex, but Alex doesn't respond at all.

He gets into his car, then deliberately makes the tires squeal loudly again. He laughed as Mr. Victor yelled at him for ruining his lawn, but Alex doesn't care.

He had successfully completed his first task. Upon arriving at his house, Alex is immediately greeted by the voice of his supervisor.

"Congratulations on the success of your first task, Master Alex."

A system panel then appears in front of Alex, informing him of his first task, followed by a sentence that appears right in the center of the panel.

'TASK 1 COMPLETED! CLICK THE NEXT BUTTON FOR THE NEXT TASK!'

Another new task? Could it be related to Sans' family again? Alex had thought that the system game task was a new mission. Well, once a day, but apparently he was wrong. But whatever it is, Alex certainly can't protest.

After completing the first task by insulting the Sans family by giving them money, Alex found himself feeling good remembering their dumbfounded faces. They had always insulted him, but now the coin was hard to flip and it was his turn to retaliate.

Alex then moves his hand, without hesitating to click the 'next' button on the panel which immediately flashes.
