EPISODE 3 - An Unexpected Visitor

"Phize, Are you feeling okay?" she asks out of concern.

"Yeah, mommy," he answered half-baked.

"Are you bored?" she worriedly asks.

"Oh! No, not at all. I'm just spacing out," replies in an act to remove such worries.

"Really now? Don't be shy to ask mommy to stop if you aren't interested 'kay?"

She pats Phize on the head.

"Now, let's get back to where we left off. You understand how to perform water magic? Or do you want me to chant it again?"

"No need, mom."

He focuses on the garden.

"With the spirits' guidance, spread in and out at such little amounts..."

He inhales deeply.

With a deep exhale he shouts, "WATER!"

Sprinkles of water come out of his hand and a magic circle forms around it, but it seems to be wavering.

He is overjoyed with the results.

"MOMMY! I DID IT!"

"I'M SO PROUD OF YOUUU!"

Not long, the magic circle goes unstable and the sprinkles of water now vary in size.

"Mom? What's happening?" he asks as he panics.

The magic circle collapses and then disappears, the water has also stopped flowing.

"Hmmm. Mommy is thinking..."

She stands up and looks at the sky and then after 5 seconds, she looks at her son.

"I GOT IT! Mommy recalls something about channeling mana throughout your body because if words were all that needed to chant magic, then everyone probably would've done so already."

"Channel? How do I do that?"

"Hmm. I don't know how to explain it, mommy hasn't gone to school for around a decade. But once you go to school, maybe your teacher can tell you all about it."

Three months pass by.

Vhint enters the house in a jolly good mood.

"HONEY I HAVE GOOD NEWS!" he calls out to her.

"What is it darling?"

"The head of the school says they are willing to take Phize at school."

"THAT'S GOOD NEWS THEN! WAAAAH! OUR LITTLE BOY IS ALREADY GOING TO SCHOOL!" she screams from excitement.

" They grow up so fast, don't they? They are gonna interview him after 3 days, he can read, write and count right? Then this should be a piece of cake! Let's celebrate!"

"Um, speaking of which, when was our last honeymoon?"

"It has been a long time, hasn't it? 5 years? You've been holding back all this time, haven't you?" she softly touches his cheek.

"Yeah, let's make up for lost times, shall we?"

"Shall we give Phize a brother or a sister?"

"Why not both?"

"You sure are cheeky, that's why I fell in love with you," she speaks with her cheeks going red.

"And you are just beautiful, your hair is silky, your voice is soothing, everything," he speaks while caressing her hair.

"Let's go to the bed. Make sure to not wake Phize up okay?"

Both of them head into their bedroom and close the door.

"I promise."

Phize sleeps peacefully in his room.

The couple made up for lost time, that afternoon.

A few hours later.

8:00 PM, all three of them are sleeping in the room of the couple.

A man with a black jacket with his two wolves appear near their door.

Vhint notices the change and wakes Lexia up.

"Lexia, I feel a presence outside our home, should I check it out?" he cautiously asks.

"Leave it alone, for now, maybe it's just a rabbit."

The man knocks on the door.

"Hello? Anybody home?" the shady man asks.

The man points his wolves toward the windows and they approach each one.

"I know you're there."

A slash of flesh is heard inside the house and the wolf from the left window cries for help.

Blood spreads from inside and out the door.

He chuckles, "Well, well, well. Who do we have here? Still as skillful as ever, Vhint the Invincible Juggernaut?"

Silence is spread all over the area.

"You don't need to hide."

He looks around the house and sees the crib from his position.

He smiles.

"To whom does that crib belong, Vhint? Your child?" he asks out of curiousity.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Vhint angrily shouts at the man.

"Don't be like that. Do you remember me? I'm your best friend. Or at least I was."

Vhint was affrighted by his thoughts, "Callas? IMPOSSIBLE!"

"But that voice, it's unmistakable, it's Callas' voice," he thought.

"That's right," the man answered.

"HOW? I THOUGHT I KILLED YOU! I STABBED YOUR HEART AND BEHEADED YOU!" he shouts.

"Well it seems the Witches of Haydel wanted me back, so here I am. Where's your wife? I wanna see her before I go."

"DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT! THE WITCHES OF HAYDEL ARE STILL ALIVE?" he asked furiously.

"Yes, it seems so," Callas answers with a proud tone.

A bad feeling fills Vhint.

"This is bad. THIS IS REALLY BAD," he thought in extreme horror.

"As you can see, the Witches of Haydel had enough with the so-called Gracious Knights of Heaven. And we need you, you stand a chance against them, so either you cooperate or else," he threatens.

"WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO WITH THIS? LEAVE ME AND MY FAMILY ALONE!"

"Playing dumb? I know your real identity, Vhint. And don't even try to flee, I can feel you're planning to let your wife escape with your son. I can shoot from a mile with ease," he says confidently.

"This is bad," he worries in his mind.

He whispers to Lexia.

"I have a plan, I'll go take him on and distract him, and you two run towards the nearest city."

She worriedly stops him, "But Vhint, what if you ge-"

He kisses her.

"I love you and our son, Lexia. I can take him on," he boldly declares.

He gets out from his hiding place and runs toward Callas while Lexia runs with Phize.

"CALLAS!" he shouts in fury.

Callas whistles.

"What was that?" he questioned in his mind.

The wolf from the right earlier who was hiding suddenly snatches Phize.

"PHIZE!" Lexia shouts in shock.

Vhint looks toward the conflict.

"LEXIA?"

"So the name of your wife is Lexia, eh? So you two tied the knot," Callas nonchalantly comments.

Vhint points his sword toward Callas.

"LEXIA! GET PHIZE BACK!"

She runs in the wolf's direction.

A magic circle forms from Callas' right hand.

"Speedy Shot," he chants.

A spiky conic rock shoots toward Lexia.

"Both of you are fighting me," he says.

"DAMMIT."

Meanwhile, the wolf, who was carrying Phize runs away south of the house...

"MOMMY! HELP!" Phize pleads.

He hits the wolf on the snout.

The wolf lets go of him and he rolls to the ground.

"Ow..."

He looks at the wolf and it is growling at him.

He stands up.

"I'M SCARED, I'M SCARED, I'M SCARED," he thought to himself struck with fear.

"MOMMY!"

He cries for help.

"Where are they? I want my mommy...," he thought.

The wolf proceeds to charge him and he blocks it with his right arm.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHH! IT HURTS!" he shouts in pain.

He sees his blood quickly run from his arm.

"AHHHH! THE PRESSURE!," he painfully said to himself in his mind.

He punches the wolf but the wolf bites harder.

"AAAHHHHHH!"

He suddenly remembers the time he got hit by a car.

"I-I REMEMBER!," he thought to himself as if a revelation came to him.
