Cynthia’s hand froze mid-reload, her face paling as she locked eyes with me. “What the hell do you mean he might not be dead?” she whispered, the words almost catching in her throat.

I clenched my jaw, the alien inside me churning with a low, guttural growl, its presence like a coiling serpent in the pit of my gut. “If Mr. White injected himself with the serum of life—just like the one I was given—he could regenerate. I blew his head off, but if he had the serum, that might not be enough. He could be healing, right now, even as we speak.”

Cynthia’s face twisted into a grimace of disbelief, then hardened into something colder. “Then we have a bigger problem than we thought,” she said, her voice flat and resolute. “If he’s still alive, he’ll rally whatever’s left of SCID. And next time, he won’t just send the squad. He’ll come himself.”

The alien in me rumbled with bitter amusement, its thoughts slipping into mine like venom through a wound. “If he returns, he’ll be more dangerous. His

  • WAY TO THE INESCAPABLE PRISON

I lay there, the cold floor pressing against my cheek, muscles trembling as if every nerve had been shattered and rewired. I could barely even twitch my fingers, the residual pain from the alien-disrupting sound still gnawing at my bones.Mr. White’s mocking voice echoed above me, every word dripping with venom.“Take him and begin the extraction,” he said to his soldiers.I felt rough hands grabbing my arms, hoisting me upright. My legs dangled beneath me, unable to support my weight. Cynthia was still slumped where they had left her, her head drooping, bound in the same way I had been.As I was dragged forward, my mind—though battered and dulled—raced furiously. I couldn’t let this happen. They would tear the alien from me, leaving me helpless, leaving Cynthia at their mercy.Doctor Trevor, standing near a sleek metal door, smirked as I was brought closer.“I was hoping you’d put up more of a fight,” he said smoothly, adjusting his glasses. “But I suppose that frequency was too much

  • NO ESCAPE

The numbing cold spread through my veins, but I gritted my teeth, focusing every fragment of my mind on resisting the drug’s pull. The alien inside me growled, Stay with me, John. You’re stronger than this. The sedative’s effect was heavy, making my muscles tremble with weakness. But my rage and stubbornness fueled me. I couldn’t let Blade hand us over without knowing who he was working for. That’s when I heard it—dozens of boots pounding against the metal floors, footsteps rushing in like a flood of violence. The door at the far end of the room slammed open, and through my blurred, barely focused vision, I saw them.SCID soldiers in full tactical gear, weapons drawn, helmets glinting in the low light. Their presence alone made my blood boil, but the sight of one figure, taller than the rest, with a predatory smirk, made my heart ice over.It was Mr. White. He moved through the mass of soldiers like a shark through a school of fish, exuding a casual, lethal confidence. His white suit

For a moment, the silence was thick, the heavy breathing of Blade echoing against the walls of the hidden weapon cache. His bloodied face, illuminated by the faint glow of the tech sword still in my grip, twitched as his jaw clenched. The alien’s hum of power beneath my skin made every sense of mine sharper—I could almost hear the beat of his heart, feel the shift in the air as his thoughts churned. Then, Blade’s lips curled into a slow, bitter smile. “You’re telling me,” he said hoarsely, “that the two of you are standing against SCID? Against Mr. White?”I nodded, my gaze never wavering. Cynthia, still catching her breath, gave him a look filled with both sympathy and defiance. She stepped closer, lowering her rifle completely. “You’ve been hiding, Blade,” she said. “But we’ve been fighting. And now the war’s coming to us.”Blade’s eyes flicked between us, the fire in them growing brighter. “You know,” he murmured, “I always knew SCID’s rot ran deep. Mr. White… he was just the begin

  • SERUM OF LIFE

The battlefield had finally gone quiet, except for the crackling of fires and the soft whimpering of the dying. The air was thick with smoke, the ground littered with twisted corpses, splintered bones, and glistening pools of blood. The once formidable SCID forces were now nothing more than charred remnants, their weapons scattered like the broken hopes of their masters.I stood amidst it all, my chest heaving, blood and sweat mixing on my skin. I let out a soft sigh of relief, feeling the monstrous strength within me slowly subside. “We did it,” I muttered, my voice hollow against the silence. “They’re gone.”Cynthia, still gripping a smoking gun in her trembling hands, gave me a cautious nod. Her face was pale, but her eyes were steeled. “We finally took them down.”But then, something moved.A faint shifting sound—a wet, dragging noise that didn’t belong.I turned my head sharply, my heart freezing. Limbs twitched. Hands clawed at the dirt. Legs jerked, torsos snapped upright, bone

  • BLOODBATH

I barely had time to breathe. Samson surged forward, his mechanical arms slamming down with a sound like cracking thunder, the ground splitting beneath his fists. I dodged, but barely, his next swing tearing through the bunker’s reinforced wall, sending fragments of concrete flying like shrapnel.Porter flickered, his body twisting in and out of reality, and then—bam!—his fist connected with my ribs, sending me sprawling across the floor, the air rushing from my lungs.I could hear Cynthia’s screams as the techno-witch floated above, her voice cold and venomous as runic glyphs spun around her, charging with deadly energy. Arcs of searing plasma snaked down towards Cynthia, burning through metal like it was paper.I lunged, barely grabbing Cynthia, throwing us both behind a shattered column as the plasma carved glowing scars across the bunker floor. Blood roared in my ears. I was fast, but they were coordinated, precise, hitting us from every angle.“They’re toying with us!” Cynthia cr
