Kelvin's Pov
The sound hit me first.
A low, rhythmic moan, punctuated by the creak of bedsprings. It seeps through the door, sharp and unmistakable. My hand freezes on the doorknob, the text message still glowing on my phone screen
“Come over tonight. I’m ready for you.”
My heart, which had been pounding with anticipation, now thuds with something else. Dread. Disbelief. The kind of sickening realization that twists your stomach into knots.
I push the door open.
The scene is a punch to the gut. Mary, my Mary, is tangled in the sheets with Justin. Her bare shoulders glisten with sweat, her hair a wild mess. Justin, shirtless and smirking, looks up lazily as if he’d been expecting this.
“Oh, look,” Justin drawls, his voice dripping with mockery. “The clown’s here. Right on time.”
Mary’s eyes widen for a split second, but then she relaxes, leaning back against the headboard like this is nothing. Like I am nothing.
“Kelvin,” she says, her voice cold and detached. “You weren’t supposed to see this.”
My mouth goes dry. My fists clench at my sides, nails digging into my palms. “You… you texted me. You said”
Justin bursts out laughing, a harsh, annoying sound. “Oh, that? Yeah, that was me. I thought it would be fun to see your pathetic face when you walked in. And damn, it was worth it.”
Mary smirks, running a hand through her hair. “You thought I’d sleep with you? ..You?”
The words hit me like a slap. I stagger back, my mind racing. This can’t be real. This can’t be the same Mary who’d clung to me when she was sick, who’d cried in my arms after her leukemia diagnosis. The same Mary I’d given my bone marrow for, risking my health to save hers.
“Why?” I choke out, my voice breaking. “After everything I did for you”
“Oh, please,” Mary interrupts, rolling her eyes. “Don’t act like you did me some huge favor. I needed your bone marrow, and you were dumb enough to give it to me. That’s all this ever was to it.”
I feel like the ground has been ripped out from under me. “You… you used me Mary?”
Justin snorts. “Wow, you’re even slower than I thought. Yeah, dumbass, she used you. You were just a means to an end. And now that she’s healthy, you’re useless. A nobody. An orphan.”
The word hits me like a knife to the chest. I rarely talk about being an orphan. It’s my deepest pain, my most guarded secret. I’d only ever told Mary. And now she’s weaponized it, handed it to Justin like a trophy.
“You told him?” I whisper, my voice trembling.
Mary shrugs, her expression bored. “It’s not like it’s a big deal. Everyone’s got a sob story. Yours just happens to be extra pathetic.”
Justin laughs again, a cruel, annoying sound. “Yeah, no mommy, no daddy, no siblings, no family. Just you, all alone in the world. No wonder Mary picked me. Who’d want a loser like you?”
My vision blurs with rage. I lunge towards Justin with the intent to punch, my fists swinging. But I’m still weak from the bone marrow donation, and my body has not fully recovered. Justin dodges easily, landing a brutal punch to my jaw.
The room spins. I hit the floor, pain exploding through my skull. Justin stands over me, grinning like a predator.
“You thought you could take me on?” Justin sneers. “You’re nothing. A weak, pathetic nobody.”
Mary watches from the bed, her expression cold and indifferent. “Just leave him alone, Justin. He’s not worth it.”
Justin kicks me in the ribs, hard. “Nah, I think I’ll have a little more fun first.”
The blows come one after another, each one more vicious than the last. I try to fight back, but my body’s too weak, my movements sluggish. I can feel myself slipping, the world fading to black.
The thought of Mary choosing Justin over me is insane. It makes no sense. She knows exactly who he is his bad reputation, the way he treats people like they’re disposable. And yet, she choose such a man.
My chest tightens, the weight of it pressing down on me. I try to shake it off, but the betrayal sinks deep, clawing at something raw inside me. I thought she saw me differently. I thought I mattered to her.
But I was wrong.
The last thing I hear is Justin’s laughter and Mary’s voice, cold and dismissive. “Throw him in the cage. The dogs will take care of the rest.”
Darkness.
Then pain.
I wake to the sound of growling. My body’s on fire, every inch of me screaming in agony. I’m lying on cold, hard ground, the stench of blood and fur filling my nostrils.
I open my eyes.
The cage is massive, its iron bars towering above me. And inside are the dogs huge, savage beasts with gleaming teeth and hungry eyes. They circle me, their growls low and menacing.
I try to move, but my body won’t obey. I’m too weak, too broken. Blood pools beneath me, seeping into the dirt.
One of the dogs lunges, its teeth sinking into my arm. I scream, the pain blinding. I kick out weakly, but it’s no use. The other dogs close in, their jaws snapping, their breath hot and rancid.
This is it. This is how I’m going to die. Betrayed, humiliated, and torn apart by dogs.
But then something strange happens.
The blood from my wounds begins to pool around my hand, soaking into the ring I always wear a simple silver ring that had belonged to my mother. It glows faintly, a strange warmth spreading through my body.
The dogs back away, whimpering, as if sensing something they don’t understand.
My vision blurs, then sharpens. My body feels… different. Stronger. Hotter. It was like something ancient and powerful is waking up inside me.
I look down at the ring. It’s glowing brighter now, the light pulsing in time with my heartbeat.
And then, with a surge of energy that feels like lightning coursing through my veins, I stand.
The dogs snarl, but they don’t attack. They can sense it too the change in me. The power.
I clench my fists, my breathing ragged. I don’t understand
what’s happening, but one thing’s clear.
This isn’t the end.
It’s just the beginning.

Chapter 95: The Fractured Pieces
The corridors feel colder without Lydia in her familiar seat. I arrive at the office, early, before anyone else, and I can’t shake the emptiness her absence left behind. Everything’s running projects, restructuring, Justin’s takeover but it still feels hollow. Then she appears Lydia. She moves down the corridor with determination: smartly dressed, purposeful. My steps falter. She reaches me just outside my door.“Kelvin,” she says, voice steady but thin. “I need to talk. Can you see me?”I nod and gesture inside. My desk is neat. Chairs in line. Personal but controlled. I listen as she closes the door behind us. There’s tension in the low hum of the empty office.“I’m sorry,” she begins, eyes direct. “I let anger drive me. I let jealousy blind me. I created that scandal I crossed a line. But I want back. I want to be part of the team. I can be better. I will be better.”Her voice cracks slightly and I catch the sincerity. My heart tightens. I admire her always have but it would be wea
Chapter 94: The Fall of Kings
The moment the final charges hit Zac, I feel the room shift. I’ve spent a lifetime unscrewing every bolt, redefining what power means and now, in quiet triumph, the old tyrant falls. His empire of hate brought down by his own weapon.I’m in the operations center when the message arrives. “Kwang and Zac arrested. Video confirmed. Kwang’s testimony verified.”I breathe in. Slowly. I lean back, head tilting against the chair. It all feels surreal like waking from a nightmare I almost lost to.My first call is to Eddy, who’s mouth sounds stiff but triumphant.“Are they secure?”“Yep,” he says. “Kwang's cooperating. The video was the final piece. Zac is asking for bail; no go.”I turn away, piercing calm rolling in. “Good.”Later that evening, I meet Kwang in a secure interrogation room at the Mexican embassy. A thick table sits between us, police officers milling outside the window. Kwang’s gaunt thinner than before, tension lining his face.I pull on white gloves, holding one of the orig
Chapter 93: Closed Trap
The corporate world moves in cycles, but this phase feels like a predator circling its prey. Zac knows he’s cornered, but instead of lashing out directly, he settles with Justin and Mary two pawns he once used. It’s a temporary truce, or so he believes. Meanwhile, our war takes a different turn.I’m in my office when the news hits. Bloggers, paid by Zac, publish glowing articles: “Justin and Zac Reconcile Brothers in Business!” The narrative claims Zac and Justin, once adversaries, are now united. Justin’s suddenly named CEO of the new construction subsidiary. A token promotion to silence the scandal together again. The announcement is slick and polished. Zac’s strategy, if you can call it that, is twofold: secure Justin’s loyalty and rebuild his own legitimacy in public view. He’s playing chess. So am I.Inside Eclipse Group, Justin’s name is trending again this time as a powerful new arm of the company. The board is buzzed. Some are impressed; others cautious. But I see a man evolvi
Chapter 92: The Unraveling
The office feels different today quieter, heavier. I sit at my desk, eyes fixed on the news banner scrolling across my monitor. “Zac implicated in sex crime scandal.” The words are like a sweet melody I didn’t expect so soon. But I can’t let myself enjoy it just yet. There’s still too much at stake. My company’s reputation is still recovering from that tax evasion accusation, and Zac is like a snake you cut off its tail and it grows a new one.I lean back in my chair, my fingers drumming against the desk. “Eddy,” I say into the phone, “we’re going after the cocaine farm again. This time, we’re not stopping until we burn it to the ground.”Eddy doesn’t hesitate. “Got it. Olivia’s coming with me.”I nod, though he can’t see me. “Good. She has the digital reach. You have the instincts. Get it done.”They leave for Mexico that night. From there, they’ll fly into Thailand retracing old leads, reopening closed doors, squeezing every drop of intel from our sources. I’m trusting them with mor
Chapter 91: The War of Shadows
Kelvin’s POV The office is too quiet. No Lydia. No Brianna. Just the hum of my laptop and the weight of the empire on my shoulders. The Project glows on my screen a billion-dollar infrastructure deal that could cement my company’s dominance for the next decade. And Zac wants it just as badly as I do. I lean back in my chair, rubbing my temples. How the hell do I win this alone? A knock at the door. Olivia steps in, her tablet clutched tight. “Sir, we have a problem.” I don’t like her tone. “What now?” “Three of the competing firms just withdrew.” I sit up. “Why?” Her lips thin. “One CEO had a sudden ‘health scare.’ Another’s wife was kidnapped and returned unharmed twelve hours later. The third…” She hesitates. “His daughter’s tuition was paid in full. By an anonymous donor.” Zac. Of course. I exhale sharply. “And us?” “Untouched. So far.” That’s what worries me. Because Zac doesn’t leave equals standing. He erases them. TWO DAYS LATER I stand alone
Chapter 90: The Spider’s Web
Justin's POV I stare at my phone screen, my fingers trembling at the video Zac just sent out. My mistress, the mistress naked and exposed, with me, caught in every filthy angle. My face is clear. The room, the bed, even the damn clock on the wall it’s all there. I shut it off halfway, bile rising in my throat.I should’ve known Zac would pull this. I thought I had control, that I was playing him just as much as he was using me. But now? He owns me. Completely.I drop the phone on the table and slump onto the couch. Mary walks past, her eyes cold, detached. She sees the look on my face but doesn’t ask. She doesn’t care. Not really. She’s been distant for a while now, like she’s waiting for something like she’s playing her own game.I snap at her, “You enjoying this? Watching me drown?”She glances over her shoulder with a half-smile. “You’re doing just fine on your own.”I hate how calm she is. I cheat, I lie, I throw it in her face and yet she never yells, never fights back. That use
