I don’t know how long Brianna and I sit at that bar, talking. Maybe an hour. Maybe more. Time feels warped around her, bending in strange directions. Her laughter slides easily into my ears, like music I’ve missed without realizing. There’s something in the way she keeps glancing at me when she thinks I’m not looking, her eyes tracing the sharp line of my jaw, lingering on my forearms as I raise my glass.

She misses me. I can see it in her gaze, hear it in the softness of her voice.

“You just showed up here by chance?” I ask, a little suspicious, a little curious.

She nods. “I couldn’t sleep. My head was spinning. I just needed to get out and breathe.” She shrugs, sipping from her drink. “I had no idea you’d be here.”

Lucky coincidence. Or fate playing games again.

The longer we talk, the harder it becomes to ignore the pull between us. I feel her presence like static charge and closeness. Her eyes keep flicking to my lips, and every time, my stomach tightens. It’s stupid. It’s danger

Kelvin's POV For a moment, I think maybe they've both calmed down. Lydia is quiet, arms folded, brows furrowed in silent protest. Brianna leans back, arms crossed, eyes burning into mine with that mixture of passion and indignation only she can deliver. Then, like a storm cloud tearing open, Brianna speaks again.“Kelvin, you can't have two women in your life. You either choose or you lose both.”Her voice is sharp, echoing off the walls like a warning shot. Lydia doesn't even flinch. She's waiting, ready to pounce, and when she does, her words are laced with venom.“Then let him lose both,” Lydia snaps. “I'm not a second option. I never was.”I feel the heat rise in my chest. This isn’t just personal. It’s professional. Lydia is my right hand at Eclipse, sharp and resourceful. But Brianna Brianna brings influence, connections, and a billion-dollar brand to the table. A marriage with her could catapult the company into a global powerhouse.I rake my hands through my hair. The weight

"You were going to publish those photos," I say. "Weren’t you?"She doesn’t flinch. "Yes. I was."No remorse. No apology. Just the cold certainty of someone who believes she’s doing the right thing. My fist clenches, and without thinking, I grab the nearest object a glass vase on the shelf and hurl it against the wall. It shatters into a hundred pieces."Why, Lydia? What the hell were you thinking?""Look around, Kelvin," she says calmly, gesturing to her shelves. That’s when I notice it. Her cabinets are open. Files missing. Shelves cleared. Something feels off."Where are your documents?"She shrugs, too calm for comfort. "Ask your internal audit team. They took everything this morning. Said they were doing a sudden investigation."I narrow my eyes. "On whose orders?""Find out," she replies, and turns away from me.I pull out my phone and within minutes I’m marching down to the audit department, rage barely kept in check. The director meets me with trembling hands, clearly not expe

  • Chapter 87: The Fabricated Scandal

Lydia’s POV The dossier on Brianna is disappointingly clean. Too clean. I flip through the pages again, searching for something a skeleton in her closet, a financial irregularity, anything I can use to tear her down. Nothing. My fingers tighten around the edge of the folder. Fine. If she won’t give me ammunition, I’ll make my own. I dial the number of the man I hired a handsome, disposable face with a talent for manipulation. “It’s a go,” I say quietly. “Make sure the reporters get the shot.” He chuckles. “She won’t know what hit her.” I hang up, staring out the window at the city lights. This is war. Brianna’s POV The club pulses with music and bodies, the bass thrumming through my veins. I shouldn’t be here. Not with everything happening Zac’s games, Lydia’s investigation, Kelvin’s growing distance. But I needed to forget. Just for one night. The vodka tonic in my hand is my third or is it fourth? My head swims, the edges of the room blurring. That’

  • Chapter 86: The Poisoned Cage

Olivia's POV To avoid another misunderstanding, I stop Eddy before he can even think about running to Kelvin. "We need to be sure," I tell him, my voice calm but firm. He's frustrated I can see it all over his face but I won’t risk stirring chaos without proof. “If we tell Kelvin now, and it turns out to be nothing, it’ll only push him further into confusion and mistrust.”Eddy frowns, pacing slightly, but he knows I’m right. I continue, “We investigate first. We watch. We dig. Once we have something solid, we’ll tell him. Until then, we stay quiet.”He finally nods, reluctantly agreeing. I feel the pressure building in my chest. Everything’s spiraling around Kelvin, and if we’re not careful, we’ll lose the little control we have left. I care about him maybe too much and right now, protecting him means holding back the truth… just a little longer.Kelvin's POV I sit in my office, the city skyline glowing beyond the tinted windows. But I’m not really looking at it. My mind is elsewhe

Kelvin's POV The air has felt different lately, heavier. There’s a buzz around me I can’t shake eyes watching, shadows moving. Ever since I went public, I’ve become a target in a different way. It’s no longer about corporate sabotage; now it’s personal. Every handshake could be poison, every smile a lie.Eddy's been quiet since the doctor cleared him. I expected him to take it easy, but I should have known better. That man doesn’t know how to sit still. He’s somewhere out there, and I know better than to think he’s just resting. He’s hunting, calculating, and watching the very walls that surround me.The last few days, I’ve noticed something odd about one of my bodyguards . He’s attentive but too perfect. Memorizes my schedule down to the second. And when I double back or change course, there’s the slightest flicker of hesitation in his expression. Not fear. Not concern. Calculation.I didn’t say anything to Eddy. I figured I’d monitor the situation, but something told me he already

Brianna's POVI pull into my driveway just after leaving Kelvin’s place, still reeling from the way he snapped at me. I tell myself not to take it personally. He's under pressure, the media won’t stop following him, and everything about us is suddenly trending. But it still hurts. I just wanted to talk about our future, not fight. As I’m unlocking my front door, I hear a voice behind me.“Rough night?”I turn sharply. Zac.Of all people, why him?“I don’t have time for your games,” I say, stepping back. But he raises his hands as if in peace.“I’m not here to fight. I just thought you’d want to know the truth.”My jaw tightens. “What truth?”He leans casually against the wall. “I just came from Lydia’s house. She and I had an interesting conversation.”I try not to react, but my pulse quickens.“She made a deal with me,” he continues. “She wants you out of the picture. No marriage, no spotlight. She thinks you’re a threat to Kelvin’s empire.”I stare at him, unblinking. I want to say
