Then gasps filled the hall.

“Did someone escape from an asylum?”

“He definitely has a death wish, daring to attack the almighty heir of the Hart family business group!” Another note with hands covering their mouths.

“Well it seems that wish would be granted very soon because he is as good as dead already.”

Then the sound died the instant Han rose from the ground. Like a God had just walked into their midst.

The crowd froze. Even Elara trembled. Her face drained of all colours.

"What's he still waiting for!" Her head spun with thoughts.

"Why isn't he running yet! Doesn't he realize who Han is? Doesn't everyone in the city know?"

She wouldn't want anyone's downfall just because of their kindness to save her. Besides, wasn't it how she fell so deep herself.

Elara wanted to warn him, whisper to Adrain to run away before it was too late. But the chance slipped away even before she could utter a sound.

Han's face turned into something demonic. He clutched his twisted wrist, pain mixing into fury.

"How dare you do this to me? Do you realize who I am?" His growl slithered through the halls, sending cold shivers down the spine of those he wasn't even looking at.

They had never seen Han so angry before.

The crowd shuddered. Han was the heir of one of the most feared families in the city. From casinos, to ring fights, to entertainment houses to Jew designs; his family's influence stretched to every corner of the city, both legal and illicit.

And yet;

"Clearly someone that seems to need seeing the doctor urgently!" Adrain replied causally, not a hint of fear on his face.

The wind snapped. The entire hall gasped. Those words, they were heard to believe but the murmurs confirmed them to be true.

"Is he insane?" Whispers spread through the hall swiftly.

Everyone remembered the Zalt family business group. The last set of people that dared to cross Han's path.

Han had wanted their daughter in bed, and when they refused, he reciprocated by whipping out the hall off the family in one banquet overnight. That was Han's brand of vengeance.

And this peasant dared to mock him. Even Elara gasped.

He was as good as dead already.

Han's growls deepened. Humiliation burned through his vines like widespread fire. Never had any one dared to humiliate him, especially not a low-life before an audience.

"You are dead. I will make you pay for this." Han's voice shook with rage.

The crowd recoiled at those threats. Some scrambled through the exit, desperate not to be caught in a cross fire.

With the Hins family, anything could happen. Only the bold ones remained, watching to see Adrain's eventual demise.

"Why aren't you kneeling already!" Someone muttered. "Even a madman wouldn't push this far."

They waited for Adrain's confidence to break. For his knees to crash to the floor. For him to beg for mercy that Han would never grant.

Han's family have been known never to be merciless. But maybe his pleas might stroke Han's ego for a while... Pleasing death.

But instead;

"With one working hand?" Adrain smirked, I don't see how you plan on doing that!"

The crowd's jaws dropped.

"He is finished!" They whispered, already picturing Adrain's corpses being dragged out of the Arena.

"You are pushing your sense of humor too far aren't you. Maybe you should make a display before the reaper!"

"Hmmm; I'm sure. But wouldn't he be too frightened seeing me in hell?" Adrain returned, his voice calm with a hint of humour but it carried a cold presence that most people could not shake of.

Han's face burned crimson with rage. He could no longer stand the insolence that was coming off from Adrain in waves.

He flicked his finger without uttering a word as soon, guards arrived in their numbers, merciless and cruel looking ready to feed Adrain's flesh to the vultures.

"Since you decide to remain unruly, I will have you properly schooled!" Han noted.

"Schooled?" Adrain scoffed briefly. "Aren't you supposed to be in middle school?

You should be getting a smack on the head for talking to an elder in such a manner!"

Those words hit like a whip. Han's fury had snapped past the point of return. He despised anyone mocking his youth. Every soul in the city knew that. Apparently, someone needed a reminder.

"I want to hear his screams. His bones crack or consider yourselves as good as dead already!" He sneered at the guards as they stood ready to tear Adrain apart and the crowd hailed them.

“You will find out soon…” Adrian retorted after a while, and then he turned to the right angle, gesturing with his fingers.Instantly, a bullet flew from that angle, piercing through the skull of one of the soldiers standing next to Marcus, causing the enemy soldier to fall instantly and drop dead. This made Marcus gasp, and he let go of Bianca without knowing it, his eyes moving around while he tried to get a grip on himself. His breath was shaky, and even though it didn’t look like he was about to run, it was obvious that he was threatened, his eyes wide with shock.Bianca had refused to stop screaming, covering her ears as she stared at the dead soldier whose blood was everywhere. “What did you just do?!” Marcus asked angrily, glaring at Adrian who scoffed at him.The Shadow Monarch took a step forward, and then he cleared his throat, eyes shining with a sneer. “I have about eight snipers everywhere, General Marcus. That one didn’t miss…” He pointed to an angle, and when Marcus l

He waited for Adrian to turn to look at him, eager to call out to him again just in case he was not going to give him a response. The Shadow Monarch turned to look at him, staring deep into his eyes. He could see that he was not just scared but uncertain of the outcome of their adventure. He took a deep breath, then he inched closer to him before whispering only to his hearing.“Nothing is going to happen to your sister, Commander. You have my word…” That was all he needed to say for Rylan to nod in response, taking a deep breath.“I trust you…” The Commander stated, and even though his voice was a bit shaky, the fact that he was very certain of the words Adrian said to him was vividly written all over his face. Turning to look at Marcus, the Commander grunt

There was no response, and even though he was not the only one interested to knowing who that was, every other person chose silence, staring with wide eyes. They watched as the person was dragged, all the efforts made to break free was futile. The silent grunt and muffled screaming made it impossible to try to discover who it was, but it didn’t look like that was going to remain a secret for a long time.Marcus pointed to a spot, and without delay, his soldiers dragged the fellow to his front and forced him to kneel before him. The General nodded in satisfaction, and then he lifted his face to look at Adrian, holding onto his sinister smile. “What is this?” Adrian asked impatiently, his expression dark and annoyed. But it took a while before Marcus could give him a response, and

The Commander took a deep breath, and after a few seconds, he cleared his throat, reaching for his mind to get a suitable response. “With this situation, My liege…” He broke his silence, forced to clear his throat when he realized that his voice was cracked. “I know that Gusto hates me because he thinks I killed Amira, but I do not want to fight with him. I love Samara, and I want to get married to her as soon as all of this is over. She has agreed, but she is worried that her brother might not approve…” He paused just to be certain that Adrian was paying attention, and that his plain countenance was not a sign of disinterest to what he was saying. “Do this for me and I will be very grateful, my liege…” He bowed, showing utmost reverence and plea. “Maybe I will consider retiring and finally have a fam

Severally, the Commander had turned to look at the Shadow Monarch, and even though he said nothing, his silence echoed with some of the feelings from the thoughts that roamed inside his mind.He looked like he was about to speak a lot of times, but before Adrian could turn to look at him, he moved his eyes away, turning to look at the road ahead of them.At some point, he was staring at the car behind them, but it was hard to tell if he was staring at Gusto or Samara. “Commander?” Adrian called out to him after he had waited for him to speak, and then he stayed silent for a while, waiting for him to face him. “Out with it already…” Adrian arched his brows and only looked away from the Commander each time he wanted to look at the road.Rylan took a deep breath, and when that didn’t seem li

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FIFTY-ONE Gusto looked at his sister for a while, and then he sighed, nodding slowly. “Fine…” He decided to let go, but that was for that moment.Turning to face the Commander again, he snorted, glaring him directly in the eyes.“We are going to continue this fight when Marcus is dead. Enjoy your life while you can…” That was a very serious threat that Rylan was not going to let slide easily, but the only reason why he didn’t say anything was that the Shadow Monarch was standing right there. He took a deep breath, turning to Adrian with a deadpan expression that appeared after he had sighed heavily. “I am sorry, my liege…” He apologized, bowing slowly. Adrian nodded, and after taking a deep breath, he turned to face Gusto, piercing into his eyes. “We are running late, guys. We don’t want Marcus taking us for granted…” His words was meant to be a reminder of what was at stake, but Gusto didn’t look like he was ready to make any move, holding onto the sinister
