Lisa walked into the car garage and got into her lexus vehicle, resting her head on the steering wheel.

Her heart was engulfed in pain and everything around her seem suffocating.

Her mom has done enough damage already and she won't accept it anymore.

She recalled she had a shoot that morning at Relax H cosmetics for a new product launch and dried her tears.

She turned the car keys, igniting the car and the car came into life then drove off in a hurry.

Soon she arrived at Relax H and walked in to see her Manager,Ben waiting with her agency

Although she tried to put up a bright face, her manager still saw through her.

" You are 30 minutes late, What took you so long, did something happen? He asked, with concern in his big blue eyes.

Lisa shook her head and smiled.

" I'm fine..." She answered and proceeded to the shoot gallery to do her makeup.

After long hours of the make-up artists dusting powders and all kinds of paints on her face, she was done and wandered into the studio to start the shoot.

" 1.. 2.. 3... go " the photographer said and the camera started flashing.

After struggling to take the perfect pictures, the photographer kept telling her to give her best smile which she tried hard to give but he wasn't satisfied

" Again"he said

" Again" the photographer kept repeating even after taking close to a million photos.

It was almost an hour and Lisa was tired but still managed to held her pose.

No matter how she tried to shut it out, Mello kept reoccurring in her mind with guilt.

" Again" the photographer's voice said jolting her out her thoughts.

Her manager noticed something was wrong.

She had been evading shoots and commercials for some days and now she finally appeared. Everything just seems odd.

It was clear to him that she wasn't her old self

Her smile was dull and lack authenticity which was unlike Lisa.

He ordered for the shoot to stop.

" Let's have a break everybody." He said and went to meet her from where she sat.

" What's wrong Lisa" he said trying to look into her eyes but she evade his gaze and looked away.

" You know you can tell me anything Lisa, anything? " He persuaded.

Lisa raised her eyes to look at him.

" Nothing, Ben. And can I go? " She answered coldly.

" Of course." He replied trying not to be surprised by her reply and wat h her walk away.

Even though the shoot wasn't over, he wanted her to go sort herself out and cool her mind.

The photographer walked to him

" Where's she headed" the man asked harshly and Ben smiled.

" That's all for today guys" he said as he walked past the stunned photographer and the crew slowly disbursed.

**

Lisa drove along the busy road slowly, regretting her actions at the studio.

She wondered why she was angry at every little things

Her manager was only trying to help and she felt bad for snapping at him.

Her guilt with Mello was eating deep into her and she knew it.

Even as she drove past, she still looked sideways maybe she could catch a glimpse of him around.

She suddenly felt hungry as she hadn't taken anything that morning and decided to stop at Mom's Foodies.

A lot had happened lately and she also need to cool her mind.

She got there and drove into the compound and parked her vehicle at the underground lot and walked out and as usual, making heads turn to her.

She smiled and walked into the restaurant picking a seat beside the window appreciating the scenery outside.

The gentle sunlight lit up around her and she slowly let out a relaxing breath with eyes closed.

She felt someone beside her and opened her eyes to see it was Andrew.

She was even more surprised to see him there.

At first, she thought he was there to see her and lashed out" you even had the guts to track me around. I said I don't want to see you ever again! Why are you so persistent? Huh!" She snapped and her eyes slowly went down to see the apron and tray he carried.

Mom's Foodies was boldly written on the apron and it became evident that he was the waiter attending to her and her face fell.

His face was down and she couldn't tell if he was crying but was sure he was embarrassed by the way he dropped the tray and ran out.

" Andrew! Andrew!! " One of the other waiter called but he didn't stop.

Prior to that day, he had texted her that he's coming over to take her out for dinner that same day and was shocked to see he had lost him status quo.

She felt embarrassed and also decided to walk out.

She got out into the parking lot and leaned beside her car trying to catch her breath with all that was happening.

As she managed to calm herself, some boys came over, dresses in black heavy outfits, it was clear that they were thugs

" Hey, isn't this that famous model? " The first one said to his friends and they laughed.

They slowly moved closer.

" I had been your greatest fan since my childhood, fam. Can you sign my t shirt " another mocked and the others laughed.

" Thank you" Lisa managed to smile. She knew they were dangerous guys and had to be careful in dealing with them.

One of them tried to touch her and she slowly moved back to the back of the vehicle

She looked around in fear

Some people were passing but they didn't seem to care.

Another tried to touch her again, hurting her arm in the process and she cried silently.

" Help! Help me!!" She cried, her heart palpitating with each seconds.

She felt like the earth should just open and swallow her that moment.

She could see they were slowly reeling every moment of her pain

She tried dialing her phone but they snatched it away from her.

Suddenly she heard footsteps coming.

The figure got closer and Lisa saw it was a man.

The man was dressed in Military outfit and wore a cap making her not to see his face.

There was a beautiful slim lady behind him and they appear not to be bothered or show an ounce of fear.

The thugs noticed him and turned

" Get away from here if you still cherish your life! " The one with tattoos yelled bringing out a dagger.

" Call the police please, they'll injure you" Lisa cried as she saw the thugs walking closer to the man.

" Yeahhh, we are the Black kings Gangs fam!! , we run this city and no one dare try shit with us, leave now if you still want to live " the other said bringing out a pistol.

The man chuckled, turning to the lady behind him.

" Spare me a minute to deal with this,Ana. I promise it won't take long." The man said and plunged forward.

Mello smiled politely as he rose from the plush leather chair. “Thank you, President,” he said, his tone measured, careful not to let the adrenaline that still pulsed through his veins leak into his voice. He turned to leave, but before he could take more than a step, Sir Asher’s voice stopped him. “It’s late, Mello. Why don’t you stay here tonight? Get some rest.”Mello paused, his back to the man, and allowed a moment of consideration to pass. The offer was laced with something more—an unspoken test. Was this an olive branch, or was it bait? Either way, he couldn’t stay.He smiled, glancing over his shoulder. “I’m a man of time, and unfortunately, I don’t have much to spare at the moment. I appreciate the offer, though.”Sir Asher studied him for a second, then gave a curt nod. “Very well,” he replied, his face expressionless, though the calculating gleam in his eyes hadn’t faded.Mello turned and headed for the door, walking with an air of calm composure, though every nerve in his

When he finally arrived, the sight before him was nothing short of overwhelming. The estate loomed like a fortress, sprawling over vast acres with manicured lawns, fountains, and elaborate sculptures. It looked more like a city than a home. Mello stepped out of his car, taking a moment to adjust his suit, ensuring he looked every bit the part of a powerful player in this high-stakes game.As he approached the entrance, two guards stood at attention, their eyes scanning him with a mix of suspicion and curiosity. Mello settled into the plush booth, his heart pounding as he faced Sir Nerio. The Prime Minister looked polished and composed, as expected, but Mello knew beneath that facade lay a man tangled in a web of corruption. “Let’s skip the pleasantries,” Mello began, his tone firm and unwavering. “I’m not here to exchange small talk. I know about your dealings with Sir Ren.”Sir Nerio feigned confusion, raising an eyebrow. “What dealings? I’m not sure what you’re talking about, Mello. You must be mistaken.”Mello couldn’t help but smirk at the Prime Minister’s naivety. “Mistaken? Really? I have video evidence of you in a room full of drugs, discussing shipments with Sir Ren.” He pulled out his phone, swiping through the screens until he found the video. He pressed play, and the room filled with the sound of laughter echoing from the screen. The footage showed Sir Ren and Sir Nerio, surrounded by piles of drugs, their faces illuminated by the dim lights of the room. It was infuriating to think that the very person who should have been a protector had chosen to align with a monster out of fear. The room was still, the atmosphere thick with tension.
