CHAPTER 148

The morning light streamed through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. Nimah stirred slightly, her eyelids fluttering as consciousness slowly returned. She let out a soft sigh and shifted her weight, nestling deeper into the plush bedding. Her movement caused the silky sheets to rustle gently, the sound mingling with the distant chirping of birds outside.

Beside her, Nicholas remained motionless, his breathing deep and even. The events of the previous night lingered in the air, a hazy veil of alcohol and passion.
