Chapter 2: Lab test subject

"Test subject 101 is progressing well. Blood pressure is stable, and cellular regeneration is functioning at a satisfactory rate. We will continue to monitor the subject's progress and make adjustments as necessary." One of the scientist in the lab made notes on his iPad. The rest's eyes were fixed on the glowing green vial of liquid in front of them.

"What is the subject's current cognitive function?" asked one of the scientists.

"Still on par with baseline measures," replied another.

Okay, let's move to the next stage, blood fusion and heart transplant. Get the machines set and prepare the heart."

Noah who couldn't open his eyes no matter how badly he attempted, nor could he move his stiff body heard a voice saying this. The whiff of chemicals and blood hit him hard sending him into another state of dizziness.

_What happened? Did I hit my head so hard that I needed a surgery and new heart transplant? Hold on who is gonna pay? I am poor.

Maybe it is Jayden, being from an influential family surely he will take responsibility right? But what is blood fusion again?_ All sort of strange thoughts drifts into his head as his vision remain dark.

"Sir the equipments are ready and a fusion between a white streak Omega tiger and hellhound blood has been successfully created.

Also, Professor Gavin promises to use his undead rank chemical formulas to help us. I can say this test subject will be successful unlike those that either turn to zombies, mutates or dies." A young man's voice said excitedly.

But the same can't be said for Noah as his mind went blank.

[Tiger and hellhound blood, test subject, undead chemical formula, zombies, mutates…

Hold on, this doesn't feel right. Like where the hell am I?] If previously Noah was relaxed and waiting to be treated.

Then now, the dude truly wanna stand up. With all his will he tries struggling to break free of whatever was stifling his movements.

"Alright transport the test subject to the operating room. Give him anesthesia and conscious sedation medication first."

"Yes sir."

And that was the last word he heard before losing consciousness again.

Beep

Beep

In the cold and sterile laboratory, a young man lay unconscious on a table made of glass-like material as a tube was attached to his arm, pumping a strange green liquid into his veins. The lights flickered overhead, casting shadows across the room.

The wires stuck to the boy's skin, sending constant streams of data to the computers that surrounded him. His pulse, his blood pressure, his brainwaves - it was all being monitored and recorded. On the screens, graphs and charts flickered by, displaying the results of the tests being run

Aside from him, there was also a soul in the office.

Chris Cooper's fingers flew over the keyboard, entering data into the computer at a frenzied pace. His eyes never left the screen, even as he mumble.

"Heart rate at 78 beats per minute. Blood pressure steady at 120 over 80. All vitals within normal range,"

While muttering, "Fantastic, this is fantastic. I never knew a combination of tiger and hellhound blood could create such beyond human bond thing. My reputation will unquestionably be recognised in chronology as the man who save humanitie. Hahaha."

Ding!

From an unknown part of the room, a ding sound echoed, prompting Chris to halt his action and stand up. Just then, another two men enter the place.

"Okay, time for the second and final part of the test. Get a robot to be on standby since we don't have superpowers we will be killed if he turns into a mutant or zombie."

The two men nod solemnly and one of them brought out a tablet from his coat and type some things on it.

Suddenly a section of the room floor split open and a sci-fi-like firearm rose from the floor while aiming at the young boy on the bed.

"Hope the gun is recharge November?" Chris ask to which the guy nodded.

"Okay, bring the stone." He ordered to which the other guy hurriedly brought the briefcase he was holding and open it. Then handed it to Chris.

Chris calmly put on a different set of gloves for some unknown reason before pulling out an unfamiliar stone.

The stone was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. It was jet black, like the deepest reaches of space, and scattered across its surface were tiny pinpricks of light, like distant stars. But there was something more to it than just its appearance.

There was a sense of power emanating from the stone, as if it contained some great and ancient secret. Anyone who gazed upon it could feel the pull of its mystery.

He held the palm size stone and sighed, "Revolution commences with evolution and that employs resolution for it to be true."

Looking at the young man on the glass bed, he added,

"To create real change, we must first evolve," he said, his voice low and intense.

"And to evolve, we must have the resolve to see it through, no matter what obstacles we face."

He looked down at the stone in his hand, its black surface sparkling with distant stars. "This stone holds the key to that evolution. It is a portal to the future, and we must use it wisely."

As soon as he said those words, he brought the stone and placed it on the teenager's chest. On his heart side to be precise. After doing so he pull out a machine the height of 5 feet tall and 10 feet wide filled with water.

Inside the water, three fishes kept discharging electric sparks while swimming and each of the fish has a wire linked to them.

Chris took hold of the three wires, took a deep breath and with a somewhat nervous look he link two of the wires to the stone and the last one, to the boy's chest.

Zaaaap!

Chris hastily redraws to the other side as he watches the boy convulse with unbearable expression while sparks of lightning flash across his body.

The stone was now glowing brightly that it can be mistaken for a mini sun.

The fishes were nowhere to be seen as their whole body was now balls of electricity.

The machines in the room beep and ding crazily as numbers keep shooting through the rooftop.

This is something that has never happened before. Chris Cooper has touched on something he shouldn't have. He has awakened a primal force.

******

In a world, void of light, land, plants or water a dense ball of darkness floats silently. Occasionally lightning could be spotted inside.

"Mmmm…" A genderless voice echoes, shuddering the very chasm and causing space to crack.

"A world seems to have touched the primordial force.

I think it is time they face the danger of the multi verse.

Such a shame, they could have lived peacefully but now other world will evade them in five years to come. For now, they have to develop. Let me help them evolve faster, hehe. Throught bloody battles."

As soon as he said those words, a barely noticeable part of the dark matter separated from him, with the momentum of light, it tore through space itself and head right into Earth. As soon as the orb penetrates the setting of Earth, it explodes and engulfed Earth.

Immediately, rain plunges the whole Earth. Everyone was alarmed. How could it rain in such dry season?

USA, White House.

"President, something strange has been discovered in the rain. It is like radiation or energy. It fluctuates between high and low. Our satellites picked up the reading some seconds back." A man dressed in a suit bashed into the presidential office and said hastily.

The president of the United States of America was stunned for a second before passing an order.

"Let General Conor be on standby and observe it. Let me know if it gets more dangerous. For now, inform the general public to not use the water."

"Yes sir!"

Similar scenes happened in China, Japan, Korea, Isreal and so on. The whole world was plunged into chaos.
