“You… you really slapped me?” Emily muttered, her voice trembling with disbelief. “You are doomed. Do you understand that? You are completely doomed.”

The entire lobby was in an uproar. Everyone had witnessed what happened, nobody had expected Jasper to actually go that far.

Emily was the wife of the president of Grand Horizon Bank, and everyone knew how brutal her husband was. Yet Jasper had not only confronted her; he had actually slapped her across the face.

People exchanged nervous glances while whispers spread through the lobby. Meanwhile, some seconds ago, the elevator doors opened.

A tall, sharply dressed man had stepped out, his expression already dark and impatient. His name was Adrian Sterling, the president of Grand Horizon Bank and Emily 's husband. He had originally come downstairs only briefly before heading to a meeting upstairs, but shortly after entering the elevator, one of the security had hurriedly informed him that an incident had broken out in the lobby.

He had immediately returned. As soon as Adrian took steps out of the elevator was when the slapping happened, he witnessed it. His expression became frighteningly cold.

Any ordinary husband would have been furious after witnessing his wife being slapped. Adrian was no ordinary man.

He was one of the most powerful businessmen in the city, Someone had just struck his wife publicly. There was fire burning inside him. He could not possibly allow such a provocation to go unanswered.

“What the heck is happening here!”, He said as he stepped in.

“My husband is here!” Emily suddenly cried.“Fuck! You are going to regret this for every second of your life!. Let's see how arrogant you can still be!”

The moment she saw Adrian, she immediately hurried toward him, pointing at Jasper with a trembling finger. Putting on fake tears.

She grabbed Adrian's arm and looked at him with an expression of grievance. “You saw it, right? You saw what that bastard did to me! He slapped me. He actually dared to slap me!”

Her voice became increasingly emotional as she pulled closer to him. “You have to stand up for me. He did it because he was protecting that woman. She insulted me, I was just correcting her and then he attacked me because of her. You can't let them get away with this.”

Adrian did not immediately answer. Instead, he slowly walked toward Jasper, his expression cold enough to make the surrounding employees instinctively move aside. When he finally stopped in front of him, he looked Jasper directly in the eyes.

“Were you the one who struck my wife?”

Jasper did not hesitate. “Yes.”

The straightforward admission caused several people nearby to suck in their breath.

Adrian's eyes narrowed. “What the heck, you even have the effrontery to admit it right in my face!”

Jasper simply looked at him without the slightest sign of fear. Before Adrian could say anything else, he turned his head slightly toward the security guards.

“Restrian him right now, I am going to make sure he forever regret this. You slapped my wife, and are still puffing out your chest?”

Several guards immediately stepped forward to carry out his order.

“Wait.” Jasper's calm voice stopped them.

The guards hesitated.

Emily laughed. “Ohh, you are afraid now? Right?”.

Jasper looked directly at him. “Before you do that, I have something to tell you. Something concerning your very life.”

Emily 's expression immediately changed into one of contempt.

She folded her arms across her chest and scoffed. She thought he was all about the stripper thing.

She had already told Adrian about the rumours, and had given him a different version, so hearing that won't freak him out.

She leaned against the side of a nearby desk and waited, almost eager to watch Jasper embarrass himself.

“Go ahead,” she said mockingly. “Tell him whatever nonsense you want. My husband won't believe you. You think that would save you from getting the beating of your life. Let see then”

Jasper ignored her completely.

Instead, he stepped closer to Adrian. The guards watched cautiously as Jasper leaned toward the bank president's ear and began whispering.

Adrian's first instinct was to push him away. He hated people getting unnecessarily close to him as a man of higher positions, especially strangers who appeared to be using some secretive story to gain his attention.

He had spent years with malicious men. He knew exactly how unreliable such mysterious claims could be.

But then as Jasper spoke his first sentence into his ear. Adrian froze.

His expression changed almost instantly. The arrogance disappeared from his eyes, replaced by something much more serious.

Adrian stared at him for several seconds before suddenly grabbing his arm and pulling him farther away from the crowd.

“What the hell are you saying…”.

Jasper kept going. Meanwhile, the onlookers were all dumbfounded, what could Jasper be telling Adrian for him to be suddenly serious.

Emily frowned, and started getting nervous, her husband was way serious.

In reality, Jasper was genuinely trying to save Adrain’s life. Because he knew too well that he would die! Soon. This was because the Adrain's fate in his previous life was quite similar to Jasper's Own.

They had both been killed by a vicious wife!. Jasper remembered Adrian's story clearly.

After graduating from university, Adrian had displayed extraordinary brilliance in the business world.

His ability was almost frightening, and within a few years, he had already become a figure that many people in the city looked up to. He was extraordinary, and a kind of man any person would like to birth.

The doctors later delivered devastating news that Adrian had become infertile. Never to give birth again.

He refused to accept this. He traveled across the country and spent an enormous amount of money searching for renowned specialists. He visited hospitals that ordinary people could never afford and consulted doctors whose names were known internationally. But none of them could cure him.

There was simply nothing they could do as the condition was permanent.

That tragedy eventually destroyed his first marriage. Adrian's wife could not accept the fact that they would never have children together, and their relationship gradually collapsed. They eventually divorced.

For a long period afterward, Adrian fell into a deep depression. He intended suicide many times. What a life without a wife or an heir.

During the lowest of his life, that was when he met Emily. They dated and had casual sex and then came the miracle.

She became pregnant, with twins. A boy and a girl.

Adrian had been overwhelmed with happiness. For years, he had believed that fatherhood was something he would never experience. Yet suddenly, he had two children growing inside Emily he loved.

He couldn't believe it, A DNA test was performed after their birth. The result confirmed that the twins were biologically Adrian's.

To Adrian, there was no reason to doubt it..He considered the children a gift from God.

He had lost the ability to have children, endured the humiliation of divorce, and suffered through years of depression. Then, against every expectation, he had somehow become the father of twins.

He cherished them beyond anything else. That was why he tolerated his wife's increasingly disturbing behavior after their marriage. And also, all those rumours about stripper thing, reasons he didn't care about them.
