Chapter 7

Hearing this, Adrian’s head began to vibrate as his heart pounded rapidly. Actually, he would have kicked this man away and ordered him to be arrested for defamation. But there was something called a sudden realization through mental imagery.

As soon as Jasper said that statement, Adrian could immediately see it in his mind. His children face compared to him and the driver.

“Fuck….”, He muttered.

He didn’t want to believe it, so he simply shook his head and said, “Come on, stop this… Why are you saying this? Do you have any proof? If you’re lying, I swear I’ll make sure you’re arrested, and you will regret it for the rest of your life!”

Jasper smirked before starting to tell him the entire story of his past, all the way up to the moment he married Emily.

The more Adrian listened, the deeper his frown became.

“What?! How do you know all this about me? None of this was ever in the news, aside from the accident! What the fuck? Who told you all this?”

Jasper calmly smirked again.

“Look, chill and just listen to me. You don’t have to know who I am, but you certainly know that everything I’m saying is true… Now, let me get to the interesting part.”

Instantly, Adrian fell completely silent. He wanted to hear Jasper out. This couldn’t be nonsense. Everything Jasper had said so far had been spot-on.

Then, Jasper continued…his voice steady as he laid out the story in front of Adrian, describing a wealthy man whose promiscuous driver had gotten a stripper pregnant after a brief fling.

The woman refused to leave the driver alone afterward, constantly pestering him and demanding that he take responsibility.

The driver, however, knew something. His wealthy employer was infertile. Unable to shake the stripper off and realizing that his boss had no biological children of his own, the driver eventually came up with a twisted scheme.

He would introduce the woman to his employer, manipulate the circumstances until they ended up together, and then secretly alter the medical and hospital records to make the wealthy man believe the child belonged to him. The plan worked.

The stripper eventually became the wealthy man's wife, while the driver remained by his side as his trusted personal chauffeur. To everyone else, they were simply a married couple and a loyal employee..But the driver never stopped being involved with the woman.

Jasper explained how the two continued meeting secretly, always careful enough to make their relationship appear innocent. They had everything to gain from the wealthy man's trust, especially because he had no reason to suspect that the children he loved so dearly were not actually his, after the DNA manipulation.

But there was another problem. The driver had become increasingly paranoid. As long as the wealthy man remained alive, there was always a possibility that the truth could eventually come out. If that happened, everything would collapse.

So the driver and his boss's wife began considering something far more sinister. They could have arranged an accident, and killed the wealthy man.

Once the wealthy man was dead, the woman would inherit his fortune as his wife, while the driver would remain close to her and enjoy the wealth they had stolen together.

“Well, the wealthy man is here, the promiscuous woman is your wife, while the driver is your personal chauffeur”.

By the time Jasper finished explaining the story, Adrian felt a cold sweat break out across his forehead.

His face had gone pale. Every word Jasper had said seemed to connect with something Adrian had personally witnessed.

The way his driver and Emily sometimes looked at each other. The number of times he had caught the two of them together and simply dismissed it as coincidence.

Even the way his driver constantly bought snacks for his children and played with them had seemed harmless at the time. He had never questioned why the man seemed unusually attached to them.

Then another memory suddenly flashed through his mind. One day, he had unexpectedly found Emily and his driver inside their bedroom.

When he had questioned them, Emily had casually claimed that the driver was only repairing something.

At the time, Adrian had accepted the explanation without thinking too deeply about it. Now, however, that memory felt completely different.

His stomach twisted.

Fuck.

Was all of this happening right under his nose?

Adrian swallowed hard, struggling to keep his expression under control. He looked at Jasper for several seconds before finally speaking, his attitude completely different from before.

“Look… I would personally look at everything you say. I am grateful for all that you just told me, it feels like you open some sections of my brain, something clearly isn't right”.

There was no longer any arrogance in his voice.

Instead, there was genuine gratitude. “Thanks so much!. I really appreciate it”.

His attitude toward Jasper had instantly changed from hostility to respect.

Before leaving, Adrian reached into his pocket and pulled out his personal business card. He handed it to Jasper with a serious expression, telling him to keep it and contact him immediately if he discovered anything else. They even smiled, before he turned and walked back to his wife.

Seeing Adrian’s sudden change in attitude, Emily was completely stunned. She looked between him and Jasper, unable to understand what had just happened.

“What’s going on? Why aren’t you putting him in his place?” she demanded harshly. “I told you he slapped me, and you are just standing here smiling with him?”

Adrian’s expression immediately darkened. “Enough. Cut the drama and come home with me. We have some urgent matters to handle.”

Claire stared at him in disbelief. “How can you be like this? What the heck did he tell you? He slapped me!. And you expect me to just take it like that!.”

Adrian’s patience finally snapped.

Slap!

His palm landed heavily across Claire’s face, striking the exact same cheek Jasper had slapped earlier.

The entire crowd went silent. Everyone was stunned.

Adrian had always pampered his wife. He practically treated her like a princess. Yet after speaking with this stranger for only a few minutes, he had completely changed.

“Did he say something to Adrian?”

“Why did his attitude change so suddenly?”

“I’ve never seen Adrian treat his wife like this before.”

The whispers spread through the crowd as everyone stared at Jasper with curiosity.

Adrian ignored them. “Look, I don’t have time for all this. Let’s go home now.”

He grabbed Emily by the arm and began dragging her away. She looked back repeatedly, her mind completely confused. What the heck was going on? This wasn't her husband!.

But she dare not made any statements, and quietly followed him.

Meanwhile, Claire was relieved they left, and finally composed herself before she turned toward Jasper.

“Thank you,” she said sincerely. “You’re honestly the kindest person I have met recently. I really want to repay you for this. You even made them fight each other”

Jasper shook his head. “There’s no need to repay me. I only did what I thought was right.”

He paused before looking at her more closely. He was expecting her to recognize her. But Claire was just smiling at him and showing gratitude repeatedly.

“But seriously, you don’t recognize me?” He finally stated.

Claire frowned and carefully studied his face. She stared for several seconds. Then her eyes suddenly widened. Her voice trembled with surprise.

“Jasper!”
