Kael sighed, collapsing on his bed the instant he got back to his room. Now, there was an endless stream of problems.
He had planned to just find a way to cultivate quietly until he was strong enough again. But that didn't seem to be happening any time soon. He had been challenged to a duel in five years. And for cultivators, five years was nothing. Apart from that, he had the issue of his cracked soul consciousness that he had to deal with. It was only after dealing with that would he be able to cultivate. This was truly a sticky situation. Thinking about it, Kael sighed and sat cross-legged on the bed. Since he was already in it, he might as well actively look for a solution. Closing his eyes, he began to search his memories for a solution. He had experience with all kinds of things and even once dealt with souls in the past. But it was very limited compared to other fields. So, he had to think well if he wanted to find a solution. Time was ticking, and the five-year timeline was like a ticking time bomb. He needed to take things step by step; lamenting wouldn't do him any good. “Damn it!” Kael muttered, his eyes flashing open after about an hour. He had searched his memories relentlessly, but he couldn't find even a single method. All those he found either took too much time or required resources that this clan would never be able to afford. Not to talk of affording it; they would have never heard of it. Kael frowned slightly, unwilling to give up. There had to be something, right? He couldn't continue this way. “Seems like I would have to take this risk,” Kael mused, a glint flashing in his eyes. Though the technique was rather unreliable, he had no other choice. Preparing to start, Kael closed his eyes and was about to begin when, all of a sudden, it struck him. The requirement for that Divine Grade technique was a damaged soul. The moment Kael remembered this, his eyes shot open and a smile spread slowly across his face. His disciples had betrayed him all for this Divine Grade technique. Techniques were divided into grades: Mortal Techniques, Spirit Techniques, Earth Techniques, Heaven Techniques, King Techniques, Saint Techniques, Emperor Techniques, and Divine Techniques. And each of these techniques was further classified into low, mid, and high. The soul technique was a high-level Divine Grade, which was one of the reasons his disciples coveted the technique so much. But then, he hadn't told them why he had refused them. It was simply because it had just two main requirements. One, the soul had to be heavily damaged, unable to attempt normal paths of cultivation. Second, the soul had to be pure and tenacious. Else, under the overwhelming power of the technique, they would fall and crumble if they were unable to withstand it. Knowing his disciples and their greed and ambitions, he didn't tell them anything about the requirements and simply told them it wasn't suitable. Who would have thought this would ignite their greed even more? In the end, they poisoned him and used the tribulation lightning to end his life. But then again, he had to thank them for using the tribulation lightning against him. If they hadn't done that, maybe his soul would have never been damaged, thereby directly meeting the most harsh requirements. Sucking in a deep breath, Kael closed his eyes, remembering the name of the technique. It was called... Eternal Void Soul Scripture. And unlike the normal path of cultivation, it focused on cultivating the soul by first creating a Soul Origin Core similar to the Core Formation Realm. Instead, his core would be in his soul. If one wanted to really cripple him, they would have to destroy the core within his soul, which would be pretty impossible. Cultivating that way would slowly repair his soul and further strengthen it, making it unrivaled. And the interesting part was that he would be able to use both Qi attacks and soul attacks directly targeting souls. His Qi supply would come from the Soul Origin Core. And if someone tries to attack his soul, well, it wouldn't be that easy to breach his defenses. Thinking about all these, Kael grinned. As for how he had remembered every single detail, in the past, he had taken his time studying the technique. Even though he wasn't able to cultivate it back then, he had taken a fair amount of his time to study it; otherwise, he wouldn't be in this situation now. Pushing all that to the back of his mind, Kael closed his eyes and began to circulate the technique once again, this time directly targeting his sea of consciousness. But the next second, a massive pain exploded in his body, and he felt as if his body would crumble. Every fiber and muscle in his body rocked in pain. Kael collapsed onto the bed, unable to do anything about the pain, and could only groan while waiting for it to disappear. After about a minute or two, which felt like a year to Kael, the pain finally stopped and Kael came back to his senses. Wiping away the sweat on his forehead, Kael frowned slightly, wondering where things had gone wrong. He just couldn't understand what was happening. He was sure he did it right. Also, he met the requirements. Not only that, his sea of consciousness seemed to look better just after a single circulation. Yet, his body seemed to scream in pain, as though it were going to crumble. The scripture didn't mention any pain like this, right? He was sure he had everything ready and done. So what was happening? Where could he have gone wrong? The problem was no longer his soul, rather his body. It seemed to want to crumble, as though it were unable to withstand the force of the soul residing within. And then it hit him. He finally remembered. Right at the end of the Scripture, it mentioned that the body mustn't be weaker than the soul. If the body was weaker, then it would crumble under the enormous pressure and the soul would need to find a new body. To prevent this, there was only one way: walk the path of body cultivators. Kael took in another breath of fresh air. So now, he was stuck walking the path of both body cultivation and soul cultivation. This meant his journey would be far more tedious than it was in the past. Walking two paths at once? He was probably the first to dare such a thing. Kael sighed and began to search his memories again. Though he wasn't a body cultivator in his past life, he did have quite some experience regarding it. Besides, he had collected some techniques regarding body cultivation, and their levels were not low either. Also, body cultivators were rare, as people would refer to them as brutes. Apart from that, the path was filled with constant pain from refining the body in an attempt to make it stronger. Shaking his head, Kael didn't bother with those small things. He wasn't afraid of pain. He never was. So, it was useless thinking about that. “Found you,” he grinned, remembering the technique he was looking for. It was an Emperor-grade technique called the Heaven Forged Body Manual. With this and the Eternal Void Soul Scripture, he would have a pretty smooth journey. Now, it was time to start. He needed to get rid of the impurities in this body, then connect the severed meridians before finally beginning to temper it. There was quite a whole lot to do. Standing up from the bed, Kael called, “Riley!” “Yes, Young Master,” the maid waiting outside for Kael immediately answered and rushed into the room. “Get me a parchment, ink, and a brush,” Kael commanded. “Huh?” The maid froze, sneaking a glance at Kael. The young master had never written anything, and now he suddenly wanted to write? “Do you need me to repeat myself?” Kael's cold voice came, pulling the maid out of her thoughts. “Forgive my impudence, Young Master,” the maid bowed, apologizing before rushing out of the room. A few minutes later, she was back with the items Kael requested. Picking up the brush, Kael dipped it into the ink and began to write. Minutes later, he was done and handed the parchment to the maid. “Get me everything on this list,” he said, standing up, wanting to prepare to do other things. But the maid stood, biting her lips as she scanned the parchment in her hands. “Young Master.....” she stuttered, hesitating to talk... “What's wrong?” Kael raised his brows, turning around, wondering what was wrong. “We don't have the money to buy all these!” “What about the 500 gold coins with you?” Kael asked back rather instinctively, as he remembered the original owner gave the maid about 500 gold coins. “Have you forgotten, Young Master? You've spent it all....” the maid answered slowly, daring not to meet Kael. “Spent it all?” Kael frowned slightly, trying to understand what she meant. And then it struck Kael. Indeed, the original owner had used all of the money on gambling, partying, and in brothels. What a headache. He had totally forgotten about this concept of money. Back at his peak, money was nothing but just a burden. If he needed anything, he could just exchange it for equivalent treasures from others. But now, he needed money if he wanted to advance. How was he going to do it? He didn't want to ask his father or mother. He wasn't the type to rely on someone else. Besides, the clan was in a bit of trouble, and asking his parents would be a bit too much. Though they wouldn't refuse him, he absolutely didn't want that. If that was the case, then how would he get the money? He had to think of a way. “Young Master, what should we do?” the maid broke the silence, pulling Kael back from his thoughts. “Should I ask the Master or the Madame?” she continued, rather slowly. “No, I will....” “Brother.....” A cheerful voice came at the moment, interrupting Kael as a female figure walked into the room.Latest Chapter

Kael's expression also changed and he looked at the item. The crest of the clan? How the heck did Philip get it?He was sure it was not his. Could it be for Riley?Thinking about this possibility, Kael's expression darkened, but soon returned back to normal and he looked at Philip."So, tell me, what do you have to say about this?" Philip smirked, waving the crest of the clan before Kael.He had been so smug just now, else he would have caught the changes on Kael's face."That's not mine," Keal answered, his voice stoic, refusing to admit anything."Yeah, I know it might not necessarily be yours cause yours is still with you," Philip pointed out, shaking his head,"The main thing you didn't go to the Crimson Forest alone, so that might be just for the other person."Hearing this, Kael's heart skipped a beat. But his expression still remained unwavering."I wouldn't say...""Clan head Philip!" Keith spoke at this moment, interrupting Kael who was about to defend himself."What are you

Kael froze, his expression changing slightly while a glint flashed in his eyes. But it all disappeared before anyone could catch it on his face."And if I may ask, what evidence does the clan heads bring to prove I'm the culprit?" Kael challenged, his voice slow and deliberate."You killed my son before hundreds of cultivators in the scared Realm, right before it opened up," Denis stepped forward, his voice getting low, at the same time his aura surged, locking onto Kael."Clan head Denis," Keith called at this moment, his brow raised while glaring at Denis.Having no other choice, Denis withdrew his aura. Trying to punish or force Kael inside his clan? That would be impossible.Though he and Philip had come to the Draven clan together. Kael's expression darkened and he looked up at Lina who seemed to be panicking. Her expression was dark, and her face was white while she paced around."Why are you panicking?" Kael raised his brows, staring at his sister who was acting as if the end of the world had arrived."Brother, I don't know about the Ladeson Clan, but Alex and his twin are from the Blackmoor Clan," Lina stressed, the worry in her eyes increasing with each second."Yeah I know," Kael chuckled, nodding,He had already known about this when he was fighting Alex as he had seen the badge of the clan on the latter's robes. But he couldn't care less. The Blackmoor Clan was just as powerful as the Draven Clan. So why would he fear them."Brother, with the Ladeson Clan joining them, it won't be easy to fend them off," Lina stated, her voice pulling Kael back to his senses."You don't have to worry," Kael smiled gently, standing up from where he was sitting and walking towards his sister, caressing her hair."But...""F
The Ladeson Clan Trouble
The heavy, suffocating pressure inside the room suddenly reached its peak. With a muted sound that echoed only within his bones, the wild energy from the beast cores and the bitter herbs completely fused into his flesh. The bronze glow on his skin flared brightly for a fraction of a second before sinking deep beneath his pores.Kael opened his eyes, a heavy breath escaping his lips. The air he exhaled was so hot it almost looked like steam.Breaking through, Kael felt an entirely new wave of physical power coursing through his veins. His muscles felt as dense as iron, and his senses were sharper than ever. He had successfully advanced his body cultivation to the next level. Sitting quietly on the floor, he considers training the defensive technique in the *Heaven Forged Body Manual*. The manual didn't just have offensive strikes; it contained a powerful body-shielding method called the *Iron Bell Guard*. With his current breakthrough, he finally possessed enough physical stamina and r

Kael stopped training immediately, his sword sliding back into its scabbard with a sharp click. He stood in the middle of the dusty field, his face dark as he pondered the situation. The Iron Link Clan and the Ladeson Clan were powerful, and if they continued to strangle the Draven Clan's businesses, his family would be ruined before they could even fight back. He needed to find a way to break this alliance or at least find out how deep this plot ran. After thinking about what to do for a short moment, Kael turned to Riley. "Go back to the courtyard and keep an eye on things. I’m going out.""Young master, do you want me to follow you?" Riley asked, her hand resting on her new scroll."No, stay here," Kael shook his head.He decided to go meet Jace in his clan. Jace was his friend from a wealthy merchant clan that had vast information networks and deep pockets. If anyone knew the true details behind this sudden economic attack, it would be Jace's family.Kael left the training ground,
A Month Later
A month passed quickly after everything that had happened at the secret realm. During this time, the surrounding clans were still busy dealing with the aftermath of the massive beast tide, which gave Kael the peace he needed. His injuries had completely healed, his skin showing no signs of the deep cuts Alex had inflicted on him.Now that his body was back to its peak condition, Kael was prepared to train. He knew he couldn't slack off, especially with the hidden threats outside the Draven clan.Sitting at his desk, Kael chose a few techniques from his memories to focus on. He picked out a sturdy defensive sword form to cover his previous weakness, an advanced footwork style to replace his old movement technique, and a couple of brutal close-combat styles that relied entirely on his body cultivation strength.Once he packed his training gear, he walked out of his room and found Riley waiting in the courtyard."Riley, grab your sword and follow me," Kael instructed flatly. "We are goin
